In fact, I called the owner Maria and told her what was going on in her salon and she had no reaction except thank you for telling me. Aside from the atmosphere I bought a service for a touchup highlight and glaze. Well, I was never given a touchup, and my hair looked horrible and Ashy. Kristina did the best job on my hair & always does! I've been going to her since she has obtained her license. She does exactly what I want and never messed up like other salons have. I went in for a trim. I clearly stated I wanted a trim. She asked me if I thought about layers - I told her I find it makes a difference as my hair is so thin. There was never a conversation about bangs. I left there with a side bang and layers. The hairdresser asked about my shampoo which she informed me causes cancer. Actually would rate "zero" stars. Went for a Balayage based on recommendations from a local FB mom's group. I was given a very young, and clearly inexperienced hairstylist. Although, she was quite nice, her skills were seriously lacking. After being in the salon for 4 1/2 hours, I walked out with orange hair on my roots and green on my ends and paying $280 plus another $70 in tips. It was clear to me it had gone wrong when the bleach was washed out of my hair (it hadn't lifted enough) so she stuck an ash glaze hoping to tone it down. The problem was that my ends had lifted more and therefore, came out green. It was not as noticeable when I left so I felt perhaps it would oxidize and even out. The next day it was WORSE!! I immediately called and was told by the owner to come in and that they would put a glaze on it. I am a former hairdresser and I knew that wasn't going to do a thing. Once I walked in, everyone went silent. After a few whispers, the "senior colorist" came to me and said don't worry, I'm going to do this all over. Needless to say, I spent another 3 hours there, and the result was not much better at all. She told me that she was going to re-blow my hair out as I had paid for the blowout the day before. When I went to leave, THE OWNER CHARGED ME FOR ANOTHER BLOWOUT!! I was floored. This was the day before Easter! I had to go home and re-glaze my hair and color the root area myself in an attempt to look presentable for the holiday and I was leaving for vacation the day after. Now I have breakabe and a myriad of different colors in my hair and basically have to live with it as I don't want to damage my hair further. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! GREAT Experience this time!! Went back to the cutting edge today and got another blowout. Marie, the owner was nice enough to reach out to me after my last blowout. Well this time I had an EXCELLENT experience. Virginia, the woman who washed my hair greeted me at the door and the proceeded to give me one of the best washes I've had. She was very thorough. She shampood my hair twice and then conditioned it and added an amazing massage. She then brushed my hair very thoroughly with minimal pulling. She was also kind enough to ask me if I wanted any coffee tea etc. FANTASTIC. Marie then took the time to ask what kind of blowout I wanted. She didn't just assume that I wanted to have it blown out straight like everyone else does. I was very happy with the blowout as it gave my hair a ton of life and volume. Overall as you can see I was super happy with my experience this time. The last time I was here there was a shampoo girl who really missed the mark but This time was a totally different experience. I will definitely be back again and will refer friends. Thank you Marie and Virginia for making my experience a good one and for reaching out to me about the past experience. This salon is overall amazing I have a blow out club membership here and have also gotten my highlights, makeup and up due done here before. J at the front desk is a joy to be greeted by and is very quick and efficient when booking. Deanna has done my makeup and I overall really loved how it came out being that I do have really pale skin and normally don't like the way makeup looks on me. Tiffany is an overall joy to be around, she helps to create a very comfortable setting in this salon and is an amazing hairstylist. Jules the manager is very easygoing and is so quick to help when needed. She has amazing input on my hair and I love to hear from her. Courtney is amazing I came in with a picture of what I wanted my highlights to be and came out loving my hair more then I loved the photo. Ava is my main stylist and I can't say enough good things about her, she has done my keratin my cuts and my blowout and makes me leave feeling like a new person. She is very easy to talk to and understanding of what you want done. I came in for an event a few weeks ago and left with a half up half down hair style that left me speechless. While the stylist was friendly, I feel like she wasn't 100% with the service she was providing. She kept speaking about how "when we did the training" which made it seem like this was something very new to her. I booked a first time curly cut and detox. I don't know what "detox" was involved because my hair was washed and conditioned like it normally would be with a normal haircut. After my cut she did explain the products she was putting in my hair, but when it came to drying it, my roots were defused but I left with partially damp hair. Which could be the norm for curly cuts as far as I know, if it is, that was not relayed to me. Once I was home and my hair was actually dry, I didn't love how my curls looked and I feel like they look better when I style them myself. AWFUL!!! If giving no stars on here was an option I most certainly would!!! I have never had such an awful salon experience in my life. I am new to the neighborhood and I figured I would give this place a try as I heard somewhat decent things about it. I have been highlighting my hair for 15 years, and Marie said she would "match" my color by doing a single process...MY HAIR WAS ORANGE!!!!! I went back the following day to have it fixed and rushed to fix it as if she was doing me a favor! After she was done, she asked me if it was "better". Let me tell you it was most certainly WORSE. I put on a hat and walked out with the intention to never return. The "haircut" I got was also mediocre to say the least. As I had just dyed my hair twice in two days I didn't think it was the best option to go have it done somewhere else right away so I tried to deal with the color and where headbands. Let's just say I was laughed at. Everyone thought I made this awful mistake by myself and that it wasn't done by a salon owner with supposedly 10 years experience. After a week I couldn't stand to look at myself anymore so I had to go to my original place to have it redone. I went to Salon Danielle Loren in Hicksville. My stylist Shanna could not believe what was done and she said it was in my best interest to make it dark at this time to save the quality of my hair. Thankfully everyone at Salon Danielle Loren is always consistent, accommodating, and talented. They truly care about the quality of your hair! The Cutting Edge Hair Salon was called NUMEROUS TIMES and NUMEROUS MESSAGES were left with NO RESPONSE. Being a fan of Groupon allows me to check out new businesses. The Cutting Edge salon looks small from the outside but inside it's spacious,decorated very nicely & CLEAN. The owner Marie is very down to earth and very much into making sure her staff can cut AND do color up to her standards. They have the new wash basins that tilt & the shampoo gal was very considerate about the temperature of the water. My stylist Bethany was young, hip, loves working on hair and it shows. I have super thick hair which takes a while to blow out and I can generally tell when a stylist isn't thrilled to see me coming & they always suggest that I get a Keratin so it's easier to blow out. But I'm not a fan of those chemical . Bethany was a sweetheart, She is a hair whisperer when I sat down she said "relax" in a soothing voice which put me completely at ease, working efficiently she gave me a wonderful blow-out. My haircut before and after is no difference. I told the hairdresser that I wanted more hairs off as I have greasy hairs and heavy but it seemed like they don't listen to your request and did what they wanted. I'm disappointed. I could get a same/better cheaper haircut at Lemon Tree easily. I thought I'd find a closer long term go-to salon. I really have no reason to give this place anything less. I've been here twice for a wash & blow with Alyssa, and each time it has been excellent service. Upon arrival, I am greeted and taken right away. Everyone is friendly, and Alyssa is charming and charismatic. The place is SO clean and SO nice inside with wooden floors, nice decor, and clean work-spaces. I actually thought the salon was brand new, but apparently they've been there for years. I made an appointment on 9/29 for 10/3 for the $18 blowout they had advertised outside the salon via a big banner. On 10/1 I passed by the salon and saw the banner wast still up. The manager called me to say that the blow out would be $25. that the special was over. I told her I saw the banner today and she advised me they just didn't have time to take it down. I suggested that they extend the offer to me as this was the reason I made the appointment and the banner was still up outside the store. She flat out said "no".
