I had to call the salon many times to make sure someone is picking up the phone. I was not very happy about that. Finally when someone answered I told her that i want to come in for a haircut. They made an appointment for me with Tara. When I came to the salon there was no receptionist there and I had to wait until someone comes in the front to ask for my information. Well I sat down and few seconds later Tara came. She is very professional, very informative and I found out that she is a cosmetology instructor. So I was very happy to hear that. When I talked to her about my hair I told her that I had bad experience before. My hair is thick and long and not everyone can handle my hair. I came for a haircut originally but I was open for a change. She suggested highlights and color and she showed me the color swatches and pictures. So I said lets do it. WOOOOWWWW after she was done withthe color and highlight I looked so different and I couldn't stop looking at my self. I love the hair cut and color and I was very happy with TARA. I highly recommend her and I think she is very talented and a true artist. After I was done with the service Tara recommended some products for my hair and they work really good with my hair. Tev is an amazing stylist and I highly recommend her. She started out at the Paul Mitchell school where I met her and I followed her to Bubbles, along with several other clients that found her at the school. I was so happy to hear that she stayed in the area! For years I searched for someone who could cut my hair the way I wanted it cut. She is a stylist that listens to what you want. You know when you go in and say, "just take an inch or so" and they take off 3 because they feel like it? This isn't Tev. If she really thinks your hair needs more taken off, she'll tell you but if you'd rather she didn't she will hear you. Also, have you ever gotten your haircut by someone who is constantly talking to the stylist who is cutting next to them? How could they possibly be concentrating on you? Tev doesn't do that either, you have her undivided attention. I have long hair and I like to have long layers that grow out evenly and allow my hair to air-dry without looking boxy and weird. She cuts it perfect every time. It took me forever to find someone to cut it the way I like. She cares a lot about the result and takes immense pride in her work. She wants you to leave loving it and trust me you will. She has gorgeous hair herself and that says it all! read more

The one and only reason I am giving this salon four stars is because of Vicky. My experience was very similar to the other reviewers below. I made an appointment (I cant remember the stylist who was picked for me) and when I got there my name magically became someone else's name and magically my appointment wasn't at the time I set it. The manager was standing by the desk and acted like she completely didnt see what was going on. I was told to come back in an hour. I was livid. I told them I did not have the time as I needed the cut for a wedding and a conference I was attending and my flight was leaving in 4 hours. Out of nowhere I heard a voice pipe up and say she could take me and the stylists name was Vicky. I went back and she washed my hair which was very calming. She managed to cut my hair and keep up a conversation. She was very professional compared to the people at the front desk. I ended up getting it cut and adding low and highlights. She wasn't pushy and was honest about what I should do with it. The best part was she didn't chop it all off (like very other stylist does). I am ONLY going back because she did such a great job. Normally do not go to salon to do hair but thought I would give it a chance since it has been a couple years. The man who did my hair not only cut all my hair off when I said two to three inches (lower back length hair now above shoulders), he did it FAST so I couldn't even tell how much he was cutting. I guess he's not familiar with NON-METRIC SYSTEMS. I asked for a nice red color, NOT orange, he puts dye on my hair that turns my roots orange. It was awful --at first in salon i thought was nice but once got home realized it was not. Asked for his business card he gives me a generic bubbles card that says "Hairstyle-Long". He doesn't even know what a business card is, SHOCKING. But it is okay because I will not be going back to Bubbles but unfortunate for others who might have their hair done by him ! Re-dyed my hair at home with good old box dye back to brown --but hair length won't be back for A WHILE. It looked so bad I had to make an account just to share ! read more

Worst experience ever. I scheduled a 4 pm appointment to be at my birthday party at 8pm.I arrived a little before 4 pm both receptionists seemed busy on their computers to greet customers. I mentioned that I have a 4pm appointment hair cut an blow dry she asked me to sit on an already occupied waiting chair. About 25minutes past I finally meet trim my hair stylist she took me to her station and started to ask what I wanted to do with my hair then stopes short and said by your hair Is long and k have a client at 4:30.it was already 4:20.I could not believe what I heard considering that even if I had the shortest hair she would not be able to finish in 10 min. She then ran to the back and brought me my coat and asked me to go upstairs there are plenty of salons there! How crazy is this .. You think the manager would care or appologize? Cici is AWESOME! I can't say enough good things. For the first time in my life, I actually look forward to getting a hair cut. I've been following Cici around since she managed Bubbles Reston about 2 years ago now. I hate my hair -- it is thin and sparse, but somehow she makes it look great. She likes to say that there is no bad hair, you just have to figure out how to style it. I went to see her yesterday, and I have been showered with compliments all day today. I went in for a haircut (I have a short cut) and I was talked into doing some highlights. Cici had been trying to get me to try highlights out for some time, and I couldn't be happier. My hair looks great and the highlights help mask some of the thinness. I definitely recommend her!! She is creative and talented and knows her stuff. I have been going to this salon every 6 weeks for about a year. I absolutely love it! My stylist Lucy is amazing and she is able to really understand what I want. This salon is so great that I actually recommended it to 2 other friends that go here and they both love it as well! I have actually never seen a customer walk out of the salon with a hair cut or style that did not look good on them. Being a young female, its hard to find a good salon with decent prices. I can tell you from experience that this salon is the best around. They are also amazing at hair coloring. Having paid top dollar for color in different salons around, Bubbles at Tysons can't be beat. I drive about 40 minutes just to go here. I always walk out of the salon being extremely satisfied. This is my first review, but after coming here for the past several months I feel the need to say how amazing my stylist and colorist, Lucy, is. I've lived in the DC area for my 20s and now into my 30s. Prior to Lucy I had an amazing stylist I was with for almost 10 years who made me look and feel amazing every time I came out of the salon. After she moved to Tennessee to be close to her family I struggled to find a new stylist, moving from crazy expensive salons to ones that are more reasonably priced. I can finally say after almost 5 years of looking for the right stylist I've finally found someone I trust will listen to me, offer great suggestions and will talk as much or as little as you like. I have been to Lucy 6 times and every time I leave the salon I feel amazing. I highly recommend Lucy to anyone who loves to get a great color and/or cut! read more

Bubbles in Tyson's Corner Mall was a great experience all along! From the cordial greeting at the front desk, to the almost immediate meeting with my hairdresser, to the results I got after the appointment....I love my haircut!! I went in looking for a change up, an update to my dull hair style. Gimena invited me with some coffee in her station, and took the time to hear my ideas, explain the pros and cons, and then provided with her advice as to the best option, which I followed, and boy...she was sooo right!! I have only received compliments since my appointment on how great my hair looks, how much healthier it is, or even that I look much younger with it!! So after a break up you know a girl always has to change up her hair, I dyed my hair black henna yes henna and it was a dumb decision I liked it for a month but then I noticed that my job consists on wearing a lot of black so I would look gothic, so I ended up going to multiple salons to strip the henna out and cutting my hair shorter then it was, the salon I went to stripped my henna with 6X process of bleaching then they left my hair with multiple color, so I told Gimena how upset I was about my hair she told me to come in and she will take care of it not only did she leave it to a color I go go out and let my hair out without being embarrassed she used olaplex and left my hair so soft! My stylist at Bubbles is Rosa! She is SO wonderful as a Board Certified Stylist. I completely recommend going to see her as I have been for the past 3 years. After getting my hair done with her, I always get compliments for weeks. When I first got highlights two years ago, she knew exactly how to make them look fantastic and gave me awesome layers. Rosa is so great at cutting/styling hair that I couldn't imagine getting my hair done by anyone else. Even now, I come up from Richmond to get my hair done by her. She is worth every penny, every mile, and every minute!! As long as she continues to work at Bubbles at Tyson's Corner, they will forever have my business! Bubbles Salon--Tysons Corner staff is extremely professional and true experts at what they do. I especially like my regular hairdresser, Tev. I started going to Bubbles when she started working there after graduating from Paul Mitchell School. She's an amazing hairstylist; I'm always so happy when I leave. She takes her time and pays attention to your hair. I especially love that she's also very knowledgeable on hair and products. She is one of only 2 stylists I have trusted with my hair. She's extremely good at relaxers and great with textured hair like my thick African hair. I've seen my hair grow from 12 inches to now 16-18 inches in the last year. I recently had Gimena as my stylist for a corrective appointment and I was very impressed! Gimena did an amazing job and really listened to what I wanted to ensure I left happy. I had received bright orange/yellow highlights previously, with orange tone roots framing my face and I had originally asked for the cool tones and more natural highlights- staying away from orange/yellow. Gimena spent almost her entire shift putting the natural color back in my hair and fixing the tone of the blonde, while explaining and educating. We took our family for a hair cut and we experience an African American lady screaming to others employee, rude, loud and unprofessional it seems that it was the manager that our kids told us that we need to leave. It seems that this person was hired from the street it does not have any professionalism neither wants to show to the clients we are the one that bring revenue to the salon! Will definitely not return to this salon until there is a change of management, very poor customer service it seems that the hairstylist is working under pressure and not performing to their best due to the harassment of management. read more

Megan D. did the best job on my hair! I needed a color correction due to a horrible box dye. She was very helpful in explaining the process and price; she was always available if I had any questions as well. After she finished my color correction, my hair looked brand new! My hair has always been a point of insecurity and Megan completely changed that for me. I went to Bubbles salon in tysons corner mall. The hair stylist who is Esther took care of me for high light, color and hair cut. This is my first time in bubbles and Esther gave me very nice color and haircut and makes me comfortable. She has very nice color and haircut technique and also she has awesome personality. I was searching for a new stylist and found the reviews for bubbles at Tyson's. based on others reviews I chose to try out Tev, as all the comments on her were great. I made my appointment the same day I called for 5:15 and arrived at 5:10 and Tev was already ready for me. I told her exactly what I wanted, long layers and she gave me exactly that. I always hate getting my hair cut because it never turns out great and the blow dry never looks good but honestly Tev did a terrific job.
