Extremely Disappointed -- Rocio physically hurt my minor child! Beware of Rocio (https://www.instagram.com/hair_byrocio/). I've given this salon multiple chances, but my recent experience was deeply upsetting, particularly involving my child. Rocio has repeatedly displayed a cold, dismissive, and visibly irritated demeanor--as if she doesn't want to be there or serve clients at all. During our last visit, I asked her to make a small adjustment to my child's hairstyle. Instead of responding professionally, she yanked my child's hair in a way that caused visible discomfort and left my child in tears. As a parent, witnessing your child cry from pain in what should be a safe, service-oriented environment is absolutely unacceptable. This wasn't an isolated incident. I've noticed this behavior from Rocio on multiple occasions, and it's clear that whatever personal frustrations she's dealing with are being taken out on customers--especially troubling when it involves children. There is no place in any service industry--let alone a salon working with families--for behavior that borders on physical aggression. What happened to my child was not only unprofessional; it was emotionally upsetting and physically painful. Parents, please be cautious when booking services here. I hope the management takes this seriously before someone else gets hurt. read more

As a black woman I was hesitant to go here and get a wash and style. Online the price was 116$ and when I arrived I was told I would have to pay 140$. This is clearly because I have curly thick, long hair. Black women please think twice before visiting this salon. You will be quoted a different price because you have "Black hair". GENERAL BUBBLES at Fairfax Corner has been a solid salon I've frequented over the last couple years. It's convenient to book; the staff are friendly; and the stylists are pretty good at achieving the style you want. BOOKING I booked through their online website. It was easy to navigate, and since they're open 9am-9pm, many slots are available to reserve from multiple stylists. You can reserve specific stylists if you have a preference, but you can also reserve a slot for any stylist, which is a little cheaper, and that's what I've chosen to do. HAIRCUT I usually just tell the stylist what length I want my hair cut at and anything that I don't want to be done, and just request that they cut my hair in whatever style they think would fit me best so long as they fit my parameters (e.g. no bangs). I have always loved the haircut, and even if I didn't at first, it grew on me eventually over the following weeks. When I came in this week, I had a specific cut in mind as I was getting ready for a big event. I wanted to just cut off a couple inches with framing and layers. What I got was a little different, as I got more of a curt curtain bang that didn't mesh well with the longer layers that the stylist recommended. That's on my end for not being more firm about what I wanted, so I don't put that against the store. CONS Whenever I make an appointment, I always just request the shampoo + cut, but they ALWAYS end up tacking on the blowdry along with it, which is an extra ~$15. It's so awkward to tell them that you didn't request this, but they ALWAYS do it, since it's an easy $15 to make. It does annoy, as even at the beginning, I request that they don't do the blowdry, they still do it anyway as they say it's to check the haircut when it's dry and make additional adjustments (e.g. trims). So I don't know when the blowdrying starts to count as an extra fee or if the stylist is actually doing it to confirm the validity of the haircut. I probably won't be coming back because of this part, and the fact that every time mention that I don't want it, it still happens and gets tacked on my bill. Nevertheless, if you're okay with that or like the blowdry component, by all means, BUBBLES is a solid place to go for a decent price. read more

I used to come in and give her a general idea of what I want done and she always makes it look even better than I imagined it would. I completely trust her judgment. She is incredible at her job and one of the nicest stylists I have ever had. I highly recommend her! I needed a new stylist because the one I was going to had her own business, and her availability/prices weren't working for me anymore. I was recommended to this particular salon by a friend to go see Ana for my hair. I wanted to get my long, grown-out balayage hair cut and start fresh with my natural hair color. I showed Ana my inspo pics and we collaborated together on a vision. She specifically asked how much length I wanted off and she was very careful and and precise. She's not like other stylists who will take off more than you want, which is very refreshing! She gave me curtain bangs which is exactly what I wanted as well! Another thing I really appreciated is I don't like when a stylist talks my ear off when I'm trying to relax and enjoy the pampering experience of getting my hair done, and Ana was very respectful of the fact I'm an introvert and didn't push too much small talk on me. Went in to get my hair colored and trimmed. I was scheduled with Rosa and was a little nervous, you never really know how your hair will turn out. Rosa was very nice and patient. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, looked at a few pics I had and we went through the color swatches together. Based on my original hair color she made recommendations and I absolutely loved the outcome. I also wanted bangs to frame my face but knew I would be obligated to do my hair everyday so we did curtain bangs. Afterwards I found out it was her first day at this location. After I got my hair done, I was told they couldn't honor the 10% discount because they don't have a code. The email said to mention code A30. They said the computer wouldn't allow it. I requested the lady call someone who knows how to do it. They said there's no manager working. How about $5 off and it's only $2 short. It can be only 50 cents short but the point I was trying to say is it's false advertisement. It did not sound honest and Bubbles is a huge company. I insisted I'd call corporate and ask why they sent me an email to redeem my coupon but didn't show their employees how to enter the coupon. Miraculously the same lady who said it's not her fault she doesn't know how to enter it, learned and was able to give me the 10% off. Unless you're looking for a salon to burn and make all your hair fall out then go here. I made the wrong decision of trusting these people with my hair, because now I basically have nappy, burnt hair. I went in trying to get my regular color and highlight but this time, I realized that the color was literally BURNING my scalp. Usually coloring your hair does itchy and burn a little bit this time, I could not take it anymore. When they took off the plastic wrap I saw smoke coming out of my head ... Suki said "it's just heat " SMOKE WAS COMIG OUT and she said it was just heat??? Regardless I trusted her and went along. BIG MISTAKE!! She didn't have time to blow try my hair so I let it air dry. When my hair was all air dried, I noticed I had NO TOP LAYER OF HAIR!!!!!! Of course I'm not paying for this, but I want them to fix my hair. Which it's been almost a week and they haven't yet. Mai, the hairstylist who cut my hair that day, was so charming and sweet and I felt that I was able to build a connection with her immediately.
