    Brisket Sandwich

This place was amazing. As you walk in you are greeted by amazing people and you feel like your at home. As you look around you see clean tables, clean windows and give an old-fashioned barbecue feel. And the food is delicious Finger licking good, the brisket is nice and moist the potato salad and the mac & cheese are homemade and very flavorful and the barbecue sauce is very flavorful and really has a pop flavor. I would definitely come back here again.

(the mac n cheese is outta the world) ughh like grandma makes it (only better) ..sorry grandma! The creamed corn.. like old school creamed corn with a kick.. I love the spice.. The nanner pudding... geez... they put something in there. It is just different in such a good way!! Like you taste the love!! Sometime I get there and some things sold out by 2pm. But it's ok..otherwise I'd be 30lbs heavier!! I could eat this daily.. literally!! And im there most every weekend. It's that good .... today was great to see how it's getting busier earlier... good for them!!! So glad yo see this young family killing it on the BBQ pit.. they are slaying it here in Smithville Tx... today the line was OUT the door...and I got there early.... The word is out!! Best BBQ and worth the trip... (glad I live close by) BBQ heaven... to me! Small town friendly vibe..down home small town done right BBQ that can't be beat!

This might be some of the best bbq I've ever had. Stopped here on our way home from a dirt bike trip and I'm extremely glad we did. Customer service was top notch. Get the Texas Twinkie you won't regret it.

I read the reviews and was quite excited to venture out here. So much so, I came the night before the visit I had it was close as I apparently sold out early. I thought this was a good sign which had me more excited to return the next day and early. Got there at 11:05 a.m. Friday. Few words describe my experience: Underwhelming Soulless Uninspiring Austin area has such a competitive landscape in the Austin area that you know what is mediocre, good, above average and killer. This was mediocre. The describe salt, pepper and love. I didn't taste any of that in the brisket although the bark was solid. I was quite excited about the honey habanero ribs. Biggest disappointment as the description had me salivating. There was no flavor and that's including the glaze. I didn't bother getting the sausage since it was not house made. The star for me was the three cheese Mac n Cheese. I would order this each an led every visit. Coleslaw meh. Rating (1-5 outstanding): Ribs: 2 Brisket: 2 Coleslaw: 3 Mac n cheese: 4 Service: 5 I didn't find much here to be excited about.

Bubby's was at it again today! My in laws came into town from Cali and our tradition is BBQ, we knew immediately Bubby's is where it's at! We got a little bit of everything today, ribs, chicken, sausage, pulled pork, brisket. Double the Mac and Cheese is an absolute must. Corn and chicken have a little kick but man oh man are they worth it. Facebook is doing its thing, the people that came in behind us were from New York! Word is spreading and Bubby's deserves all the attention

Highly recommend Bubbys! First time here and we tried the brisket, pork ribs, pork belly burnt ends, Texas twinkie. For sides we got the three cheese Mac and gigis potato salad. The brisket was so juicy and delicious. However the TEXAS TWINKIE is a must try!

Come early if you want the best stuff! They sell out fast but they have the best banana pudding - and we order that everywhere we go, we looooved theirs! (Their grandmas recipe! ). The first time we came they were sold out of Texas twinkies (went for a late lunch). So when we happened to be driving past shortly after opening today we decided to pop in and grab some to go to try them out. They were SO good! We were treated like old friends on our first visit and they made sure we were enjoying everything. They have some family style picnic seating that we got to enjoy lunch with our family visiting from AZ which was nice! We grabbed a little of everything available meat wise and it was all great! Pricing is pretty fair! Thanks again! See you soon!

Jalapeño creamed corn, potato salad--- WOOOOOOOOOW

I've been to Store House twice now and I can confidently say this is one of the better places I've…read moreeaten in Bastrop. My first visit was a couple weeks ago for dinner with my sister. I loved the whole experience. It's such a cute space and has that elevated feel without feeling overly fancy or uncomfortable. We started with the grilled focaccia and Watermelon on Fire, and both were excellent. The watermelon was one of those dishes that sounds a little questionable on paper but completely works once you taste it. Sweet, savory, a little spicy and really fresh. We also had the Texas quail, which was beautifully cooked and full of flavor. I had the blackberry bourbon cocktail and loved that too. What really stood out during dinner though was how personable the service was. We never felt rushed and our server actually engaged with us, which made an already good dinner feel even better. I went back this past Saturday for brunch with my sister, her husband and my fiancé. It was definitely a livelier experience with more people around, but still a really nice atmosphere for a Saturday brunch. The service was good and everything came out as expected, although it didn't have quite the same personal touch that I experienced during my first visit. Between the four of us we got to try quite a bit. The shrimp and grits were rich, buttery and seasoned really well. The smoky pork tostada was packed with flavor and the potatoes on the side were honestly some of my favorite bites on the table. The French toast and fried chicken was as good as it looked, with crispy chicken, fruit and just enough sweetness. The only thing I wasn't completely sold on was the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was brown, which threw me off because that's not what I normally expect from sausage gravy, and the biscuits were a little too dense for my preference. The flavor wasn't bad at all, it just wouldn't be my first choice the next time I go. Other than that, Store House has been a hit for me on both visits. The food feels thoughtful without trying too hard, the plates are beautiful, and the restaurant works just as well for a dinner with your sister as it does for brunch with a group. I'll definitely be back.

Cute and good …read more.. Service and atmosphere: Friendly and helpful staff members. The restaurant is quiet, quaint and well decorated. They have small bar area too. Food and drinks: Good selection in both areas. The food we ordered arrived well plated. The food tasted good, was seasoned and flavourful. The side of grits was especially tasty. The restaurant also makes its own version of ranch dressing and ketchup. It was super tasty. We didn't try any cocktails but they looked good. Pricing: $$/$ - worth the experience.

This place is SO awesome, definitely worth at least stopping by and checking out…read more My partner and I were looking for a spot for him to grab a bite to eat on our way to our cabin. Just happened yo stumble upon The Gas Station and decided to check it out. If you love horror films, you'll dig this place. They have so many cool things inside. Tons of rad horror toys and posters and just stuff! I had so much fun just checking everything out. We were quick to find out that it was also one of the filming locations of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The gentleman at the counter was so enthusiastic and informative! It was awesome hearing him geek out over stuff with my boyfriend. After we geeked out over everything, we ordered a brisket plate with a side of coleslaw and beans. Food came out pretty fast. They don't have a dining area inside, but out back they have some picnic tables. He dug into his plate on site. Everything was pretty darn good, especially for a place called 'The Gas Station' hah. Recommend checking out this spot whether you looking for a bite or looking for some cool horror stuff.

You would never think this place sells decent barbecue. Honestly not half bad. They had just finished roasting chicken when we got there and the breast I was given was massive!!! I couldn't finish all of it lol. I also had the brisket which was super yummy! They have two bbq sauces- a regular and a ghost pepper one. I only tried the regular but my friends like the ghost pepper one. The sides were ok... I would opt for potato salad. Chili was meh. Overall not a bad experience. Food came out quick and the outdoor patio out back is nice enough, a lot of flies though.
