Took over 1 1/2 hour to get our food we had no warning / didn't mention it was over 30 min for food . This establishment is lucky my husband is not confrontational and he talked me out of speaking to the manager . We only got burgers and fries and a pup cup & an egg for my dog which also took close to an hour Then when we received our food after I had explained to our waiter I get really sick if my burger isn't well done they got mine and my husbands food mixed up so we had to switch the toppings around and if I had eaten a little bit without checking first I would have ended up throwing up all night .ENDED UP PAYING $100 Update called and got half of my bill refunded because it really aggravated me . First things first, the food at Sunday brunch was amazing. The kitchen's attention to detail, especially on the cheese platter, was amazing, but all our plates were beautifully presented. The cheese plate with some added prosciutto was A+ as was the ceviche with a Peruvian Leche de Tigre taste profile. The poached eggs were perfect but the smoked veg weren't really to my taste, no smoky flavor and a bit mushy. My daughter loved her huge wildflower salad. I realize they're in a small town and will give them some grace, but the service was painfully slow. It took 20 minutes to get our mimosas and an hour to get our cheese board, but as I said, it was exquisitely constructed with so many perfect spreads and details. Finally, even in March, it got warm on the patio so take that into consideration. Music was nice though and added to the ambiance. I'd love to give them five stars for the food, and all the staff were super nice, but the long waits, subtract it down to four. read more

Cozy and upscale with available outdoor seating. We had their special fries and a dozen oysters to start. The fries really didn't have the malt vinegar taste but it did have a slight sweet edge and came with dip. The oysters were pretty terrific- very fresh Canadian oysters- yum! The server had recommendations so We had the Redfish with grits, ribeye steak and Quail. For desserts we had the chocolate mousse and a lemon cake. Chief complaints- quality was good but the steak could have had a better crust. My redfish may have been a little under done but it has a great flavor. The bok choy in the dish was delicious and gave the dish the required texture. The lemon cake unfortunately was inedible - we couldn't cut through the bottom- it's more of a dense shortcake. The server was kind enough to take it off the ticket. We got various drinks that were very smooth- I got the a mock tail that was super yum- not overly sweet- off menu. Well what a way to start eating adventures in 2024! Stumbled across this place while working in the area and it is a true gem! Cute, quaint setting with just phenomenal service! Really wanted a salad to eat clean after the holidays and this place had one of the best salads I have ever had with a fresh herb vinaigrette and chèvre. However as it was a cold rainy day out, the black garlic fries were also calling our name and these are some of these best fries I have had in my life! The charcuterie board for $22 was questionable, three thin pieces of ham, 2 TB of feta, 1 slice of cheese, and picked veges and pickled blueberries..... this probably serves two maybe. The focata toast was left out, as they forgot to bring it with the appetizer, I do not suggest this menu item, it's a waste of money, Ceviche - the coconut milk was too much, and it was salty. I'm guessing they are trying to infuse a Thai flavor for this menu option, but it failed hard core. You get a small silver plate that looks like cold Thai soup. It doesn't look like ceviche, and it does t taste like it either. I had the burger, cooked medium. No flavor, less than .25 pound. For the price of this menu item, I expected better. The three other guest, were not impressed. In addition, coffee and ice tea refills, if we didn't ask for them, they didn't happen. Final raring: I would not eat here again and I would not recommend Storehouse. I am wondering how the Yelp score is this high??? Food is sub par, service is sub par. read more

Their malt vinegar fries are no joke the best fries I've ever had, and that sentiment is echoed by everyone I've taken there. My husband had the shrimp and grits and he devoured it. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and he really liked the grits. The best he ever had! He also had a great Bloody Mary. I especially liked the salted spicy rim and pickled vegetables that came with it. We started with the shishito peppers and they were delish, but the side sauce was meh. This is a great place! The food was excellent. . We both had the ribeye. Cooked perfectly with a hard sear. I had the vegetable mash. Husband had the Texas grits. Both were really good. The grits were outstanding. For drinks I had Carajillo. So so good. I could have kept drinking them. Husband didn't like the margarita so he switched to a cab. He loved the Elizabeth Spencer cab. We had the bread pudding, their twist on it. It was ok. We were sat at the bar. Great bartender. We enjoyed talking to her and she made good drinks. Very attentive even though she was busy. The only part I didn't like was sitting in front of the speakers. They were right behind me and loud so they co be heard in the dining area, which is another room. 2nd time eating here. I want to LOVE it as I have visited farmer Dave's farm and love the fresh, farm to table vibe. First time I visited was a Friday for lunch. I had a soup that was unique, but really tasty, so brought my husband the next time, on a Saturday. Thought we would have lunch, but only had a "brunch" menu, which was ok. Husband had veggie burger and fries, burger was fine, fries DELICIOUS and he had a mocktail that he liked. I had the winter brunch bake, which sounded interesting and coffee. 1) The coffee was lukewarm and really weak and served in cute little cups with a little spoon (cute - but I'm a Starbucks kind of coffee girl, so this was quite disappointing - and it was a cold day), and 2) the brunch bake, was also LUKEWARM!! Thought maybe that was supposed to be that way and asked the server who said it was supposed to be hot....it wasn't. The flavor of the dish WAS interesting, but lukewarm?!?!? The server was friendly enough, but my coffee was empty more often than not and we had to look for her when needed. The ambience is great and I/we WANT this place to succeed and be here for a very long time....it's just the details. All of this and our brunch cost us $75 for 2 people!!! We thought we found a nice place for dinner but oh we were wrong! VERY Shockley EXPENSIVE for cold food supposed to be hot and visa versa .. I was shocked when the waiter asked us to keep our forks as he took away the plate. They don't give a bread dish and i don't put my silverware on the table so i ended up holding it until dinner came! No help from him as he watched me! So low class from one of the most expensive place in Bastrop! The Red fish with grits was cold & just ok taste but small portions. The veggies were so over cooked and soggy we couldn't tell what they were! The small amount of risotto wasn't as described on their menu.. it was mush and swimming in oil that covered it completely, i couldn't eat it nor did I dared to! They are a low class "wannabe" Fine restaurant but failed in every area except the hype and high prices! We felt totally ripped off, disappointed and actually angry! Over $100.00 without any drinks for 2 people & leaving hungry! Makes me think all the 5 star reviews are just their friends coming from Austin.. even a dog allowed to watch people eat! This is a very unique, farm to table restaurant located in downtown Bastrop. The staff was very friendly and they had three small seating areas - the patio, the bar area, and the dining area. We made a reservation for a Friday evening and were seated right away in the dining room. It would have been nice to enjoy the patio vibe, but maybe next time. I started off with the bramble cocktail, which is based with a seasonal berry. This one was strawberry and a bit sour. We ordered the crab cakes, quail knots, burger, and mushroom risotto. The quail knots and risotto were excellent. I would order those again in a heartbeat. The burger was simple, but their fries had a smokey flavor, which I loved. The crab cakes were my only slight disappointment because for $16, the two cakes were tiny. They still had a good flavor to them, just not crab. read more

Just a phenomenal place. I feel so lucky we get to have this incredible of a restaurant in our little Bastrop. The ingredients are as local as possible with the owners sourcing from their own farm (just down the road) and local purveyors. The menu changes seasonally but one mainstay is the burger which is hands-down the best burger in town. We went here with a friend last weekend and we got to try the newest seasonal menu. We had the caprese salad which featured tomatoes from the Eden East farm and house made mozzarella. So flavorful and refreshing. We also had the gulf shrimp appetizer- delicious. Entrees around the table were the burger (of course,) the redfish (always a favorite) and the new coq au vin blanc which was unlike anything I'd ever had and so wonderful as was the risotto it was served with. They have a lovely wine selection- one of the few local places where we struggle to settle on a selection BUT also a full bar so something for everyone! I went here recently with my son and had been once before with my daughter. Both times, I was not overly impressed with the food, especially for the price. They do have unusual items on the menu but then you take the chance of getting something you don't know if you will like. When I went this last time with my son, about two months ago, the waitstaff was nonexistent. I had to walk back toward the kitchen to order our food and then to pay. I don't think I should have to do that at these prices. I probably will not go back unless someone I'm with persuades me. read more
