I recently had an unfortunate experience at Buc-ee's in Athens, Alabama, that I feel compelled to share. After breaking both my feet in an accident, my husband and I traveled to Alabama for his work. Since I was new to traveling with a disability, my husband placed my wheelchair in the bed of our pickup truck without covering it. When we arrived at Buc-ee's, it started raining heavily. We still had a couple of hours to drive to our hotel, so we decided to fill up the tank and asked an employee for a garbage bag to cover my wheelchair. We were referred from one employee to another until we were finally directed to the manager. The manager made several excuses and insisted on coming with us to the truck to deliver the bag, despite the fact that I was visibly sitting in my wheelchair. We agreed, but in the end, she refused to give us a garbage bag and instead tried to sell us an expensive poncho. By this time, I was in pain and very frustrated, so we decided not to spend any more money there. One would think that after filling up the tank and buying snacks, we would be granted a simple favor like a garbage bag to cover a wheelchair. Unfortunately, it seems that hospitality is not a priority at Buc-ee's in Athens. We went out of our way to avoid getting gas there on our return trip and will continue to do so in the future. Buc-ee's, no matter how large your gas station is or how superior your manager thinks she is, you left a terrible impression of Alabama on visitors from another state. read more

getting gas here at buc-ee's is easy peasy, never have to fight over any pumps because, well, there are about 1,000 pumps. buc-ee's is always clean, well-managed, and there's something for everyone. though none of the deli/food items looked too appetizing for me but i do love the prepackaged nuts, spices, condiment, and candy selection. they're in the process of adding a car wash and i'm sure it's going to be solid. i don't think the athens, al location is as large as the one i've been to in texas, but still cool to visit. read more

Great place for gas, bathroom breaks, snacks and doggie walks. The bathrooms are always clean. The staff super friendly, and Bronny loves to stretch his legs and catch some fresh air in the area they have designated for pups. read more

It's a great place to stop and grab some food for the road. They have a lot of delicious food for a roadside gas station but the huge number of pumps makes it anything but ordinary. Just beware of their fuel prices. Earlier this month regular fuel was twenty cents a gallon higher than other station in the area. went there looking for Texas kolaches. only cinnamon rolls sold. well,tried a few different items. Fudge was wonderful. Buccee snacks were nice and crunchy. Pralines were like hardened pecan frosting and Brisket sandwich was dry and hardly any sauce. So,it was an ok experienc,but overpriced. Jerky good,but Ive had better. Ill be returning for Buc cee snacks and fudge and to use their lovely bathroom! I may try a BBQ sandwich,but request a fresh made one. Dont expect authentic Texas BBQ or pastries. Awful for the 3rd time. To spend $8.99 on a sandwich for it to be full of fat, gristle, and for it to be cold too, is such a disappointment! For all the talk about this place, what a let down. There are no squeegee's to clean your windshield at any of the multitude of pumps. When I asked the manager why, he said there are a few on the backside of the building. How would anyone know?‍ I have MS and have dizziness at times. There aren't any chairs at all to rest in. They sell awesome food but no chair/table to eat it at. You need to either stand and eat take your brisket to your car. Not very customer friendly. I really give it 2-1/2 stars. read more

Food is excellent! But this is not a restaurant! You have to take the food out to eat it. Buc-cees is known for their beef brisket sandwich which decanting! Delicious meat and lots of it. We stopped by here twice in one weekend. We were instantly greeted by friendly staff each time we walked through the doors. There is SO much to look at in this store. Stop by with time set aside to truly enjoy everything it has to offer. We tried the brisket sandwiches, chicken fingers, and sweet and spicy jerky. Been to three different Buc-ee's locations. The one in Crossville, TN, Calhoun, GA, and Athens, AL. All of them quite large and very busy. They have good gas prices and everything you need for a road trip. They have plenty of junk food and snacks galore! They also have a gift shop with t-shirts, swimsuits, sunglasses, home decor, grills, coolers, etc... The restrooms are very clean and have large private stalls. Prepare to spend money and look around for an hour or so. read more

The place was crazy. Don't know that I would stop again way to busy. To wait a 1/2 hour for a gas stop is not worth the wait in my opinion.

Everything!! My family and friends were in Nashville for a few days so we rented a car for a day and drove for an hour and a half to the Crossville location. This was the second visit for three of us and the first for the rest. Everyone was in heaven with the shopping, food, and the clean bathrooms. We all loved the atmosphere and got our picture taken with Buc ee. We would love to see Buc ee come to the upper Midwest some day. read more

Buccees is not a truck stop and they will have you towed while you shop as well as deny your purchase and kick you out if you have a truck

I have been waiting a long time to go to Buc-ees. My brother told me last week about this one in our area. I finally made it there Friday. It was not as big as I thought it would be. Although I was still impressed. I got the pulled pork sandwich. It was one of the best I've had in a while. I brought 2 Italian hoagies home. The costumer service was outstanding. Everyone was kind and helpful. I figured since I heard they had everything they would have Buc-ees souvenir spoons. When I asked one of the employees. I was shocked they didn't. My first visit to Alabama Bucees. Super clean, nice stuff but I was so disappointed that in milk section for coffee I didn't find any plant based milk (Oat, almond, soy,..). I tried veggie burrito and it was good but only one hot meal option for vegetarians. It would be amazing if you add beyond meat burgers or beyond meat Italian sausages in a menu. I was visiting my Mom in Florida and we had planned a specific trip to Buc-ee's. I'm from the North East and have never been to one, but I've seen them on various YouTube videos. Our plans changed, but we managed to stop at the Buc-ee's in Athens, AL. There were MANY gas pumps, no wait. A car wash and when we got inside, we went to the legendary bathroom. What a treat! I've been to some very questionable gas station bathrooms in my day. This was, by far, the cleanest one I've ever been to. The place was quite crowded. I really enjoyed the beef jerky area (bought a package). I also bought a pulled pork sandwich, which was pretty tasty. I was blown away by just how many different types of merchandise this store carries! The staff were all very friendly. There was even a Buc-ee mascot walking around, with whom you could get a picture. I was a little worried about the checkout process, because of how busy the store was. However, I waited for a VERY short time to buy my items. I WILL return to another Buc-ee's, in the future!!! read more
