I've come to Grand Public twice now. The first visit was immediately following an event at this restaurant/bar where my husband joined me for food, the late night happy hour that starts at 10 p.m. and their 1/2 price wine Wednesday promo. I was really disappointed in this place on that night to be honest. The bartender/server seemed new and inexperienced, they closed their kitchen just a few minutes after 10 and it took a conversation with a manager who instructed them not to close until their usual 10:15 so we and others could be served, the club sandwich I had was incredibly dry and felt overpriced at $26 for a relatively small sandwich + $8 extra for a side of fries, and overall I wanted to love this place a lot more than I was able to that night. The bright spot was the bottle of Faust we ordered; regular price here is $110 and on Wednesdays it's almost the same price as retail. We decided to return the following week for dinner to give Grand Public another chance and I'm glad we did, as our experience during that second visit couldn't have been better. We arrived, had a seat at the bar and were given menus right away. We started with the Mediterranean dips and ordered a bottle of Caymus to share. When the dips and laffa bread were brought to us, the staff gave a nice explanation of everything when placing them on the bar. The dips were great, but we had to order extra laffa as the 2 pieces delivered with the hummus, babaganoush and muhammara weren't nearly enough vs. the amount of dip. For our main courses my husband had the steak frites and I the steak and sushi. Though both our meals included a side, we also ordered broccolini. Our steaks were served to us by a manager and our meals were really excellent. Though we didn't get dessert, by the time we'd finished eating it was after 10 so we both ordered a cocktail from their late night happy hour menu, I the Coco Loco and my Husband the Ferrero Rocher espresso martini. Again, both were really excellent and service from our bartender/server, the same one who seemed new and inexperienced the week prior, was very good this time, and he checked on us regularly. Overall I'm a fan of Grand Public, I just wish it was on the ground floor here at CocoWalk so more people would find it. As a bonus, for us at least, there are several screens above the bar for watching sports and other programming. My only critical comments would be two: 1) I wish they had more side dishes to offer. While you can look to see what side dishes the various entrees are served with standard and order those as extra sides, they don't have anything outside of that - mashed potatoes, for example. 2) They close their kitchen on some nights at 10:15. That means if someone comes for the late night happy hour at 10, they have 15 minutes to order food or they're out of luck. In all, though, I'm a fan and the 1/2 priced wines on Wednesdays are a pretty incredible value as they bring the price of many really good bottles down to the price of retail. I came here after a Yelp event to try the famous Ferrero Rocher espresso martini. The first time I tried it, it was delicious. Very balanced and I loved that they rimmed the cup with chocolate and nuts, then garnish the cocktail with a little Ferrero Rocher. The first time around I didn't get to try any food because my friends and I were there just to have some late night cocktails. The second time I came, I ordered the same cocktail once again. Although, for some reason it wasn't as balanced as the first time around. It wad made too strong and I didn't even get much of a coffee essence out of it. The second time around I tried the truffle fries and they were pretty good. I just didn't get to take a picture because I was too hungry. We came here for brunch since we saw that they had bottomless brunch! For $25, you can try mimosas with different flavored juices like orange, pineapple, passion, and mango. The service for the drinks was really great. We ordered the French dip and the buttermilk pancakes to share and asked for it to be brought out at the same time. Unfortunately, the pancakes didn't come out even after we were finished with the French dip, so we inquired about the status and were told that they were only just put on the grill. The staff were accommodating and friendly, but I wish that there was better communication regarding the order. The space is a beautiful spot with both bar seating and small and large table seatings. I came to the Yelp Elite event they had here at Grand Public and had a great time meeting everyone, trying new drinks and bites at Grand Public. The flavor was amazing and the cocktails were impeccable. My boyfriend and I were very excited to stay after and have some dinner and more drinks, especially since it was just 9:30pm and it said they close at 1am and they have advertised everywhere that from 10pm to close they have happy hour. I went ahead to the front to ask for a table for happy hour and was told I had to sit at the bar, I asked when last call for food was and was told 11pm, so we went ahead and sat down at the bar. At this point, the workers seemed like they didn't want to even look up at anyone to try to avoid serving. I noticed they were cleaning up so I was pretty confused on what was going on considering it said they close at 1am and last call wasn't for another hour. I asked the bartender if I can place a meal order and they then proceeded to tell me that last call was in 15 minutes. I was taken aback because I was being told one thing and then told I couldn't even have dinner even though on their business hours it is listed they close at 1am. My boyfriend and I decided we didn't want to rush through a whole meal and decided to just have some drinks until we wanted to head out and order a snack, some parm truffle fries. The fries were good and thick cut, but they gave me the smallest amount of sauce to dip them in and had to ask twice for more sauce. When my boyfriend and I wanted to order more drinks, we ordered another one and once we got that drink they then proceeded to tell us last call for drinks were in 5 minutes (it wasn't even 10:30pm at this point). I also overheard some other guests complaining to the other bartenders about their confusion on the rush for last call if technically business hours state open until 1 am and we thought that was the whole purpose of all of us staying for happy hour. It's a bummer that they wanted to focus on basically kicking us out instead of accepting these new guests into their establishment considering we even wanted to order more things and everyones body language was very much not welcoming. I really wanted to enjoy this place, however it kind of sucked being rushed out almost 2 hours ahead of their technical closing time. I understand about the food, however for drinks to be cut off before 10:30pm seemed a bit extreme. I even overheard one of the workers complaining about the guests in Spanish to their other coworkers. Really wanted to like this place, might come back but will definitely have to come during the day considering their business hours are extremely unpredictable. Took a while for them to come up to us and give us water/take orders. The she's spicy was very good as was the coco loco. The Ferrero espresso was just a normal espresso with the Ferrero on the rim, it was alright. Would not get the truffle fries again bc they didn't have much flavor at all. I prefer skinny fries and these were like steak fries. They were also out of the truffle aioli it comes with. Food - Parker roll is a great starter with the honey butter spread. Blueberry pancakes are fluffy and delicious. We had the Wagyu sliders, and they were perfectly cooked with a beautiful pink center and lots of flavor. I also tried the She's Spicy signature cocktail, and it did not disappoint. Fun to remember this was a gasoline station 45 years ago and they rented rollerskates on the ground floor with that in mind I wish they still had rollerskates rather than this restaurant Probably the worst cheeseburger I've had in years. The quality of the meat was somewhere between bland and a very bad veggie burger, but it was supposed to be a mix of Chuck and sirloin. I have never left a hamburger on my plate in my life and this was the first time. The truffle fries were great and we tried the waiters favorite, which was a. Crabcake of some sort and a I don't know what it was but both people that were at our table tonight said it was terrible "unfinishable" pretty much like my burger. The bar drink was OK but very weak. The waiter was very nice but this is definitely one of the worst food quality restaurants I've eaten in my life. What's worse is getting hit with a $17 parking charge for 90 minutes to patronize their own tenants is just vile. We celebrated Father's Day at Grand Public with my husband, dad, and father-in-law; a party of 11 including 3 kids. We were seated immediately, which was appreciated, but the table was too small for our group and we had to pull over an extra chair ourselves from a neighboring table. Shortly after being seated, water from the A/C began dripping on my head. When I brought it to the staff's attention, they offered to move us to another table, but with a group of 11 we preferred to stay put. I asked them if they would clean the area instead, which resolved the issue for the rest of our meal. What surprised me most was that, on Father's Day, not a single staff member acknowledged the fathers at our table. No "Happy Father's Day," no small gesture, nothing. It felt like a missed opportunity, especially on a holiday centered around celebrating dads. Another disappointment was discovering that only the brunch menu was being served. This was not disclosed when I made the reservation. Had I known, I would have booked an earlier time or chosen a different restaurant. To make matters worse, there was no kids' menu. With brunch items mostly over $20 and not particularly kid-friendly, feeding children became unnecessarily expensive. The value simply wasn't there. I ordered a turkey sandwich for $27 with no side included. It was dry, so I asked for additional aioli and was instead given a dijonnaise that clearly wasn't the same sauce as what was on the sandwich, and then charged $3 for it. We were also charged $2 for extra honey butter after the original portions served with the Parker rolls were removed from our table. The nickel-and-diming felt excessive. Pricing throughout the menu seemed inconsistent. A burger was $24 and included fries, while a $27 turkey sandwich came with nothing, and fries were an additional $7. As for the food, my family enjoyed their breakfast items, but nothing on the lunch portion of brunch stood out as exceptional except the Parker rolls, which were easily the highlight of the meal. The cocktails were enjoyable, particularly my Peacock Spritz and my husband's Spicy Watermelon margarita. Lastly, we waited about 10-15 minutes after our meal for our waiter to bring a dessert and coffee menu. He never came back and eventually I flagged him down and asked for the check, which is when I found out about the sauce costs. I paid and we walked down the street for dessert and coffee. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a special Father's Day celebration left us disappointed. We chose this restaurant because we have seen great reviews, but it just wasn't a good experience for us. read more

The fries were too thick and were sent back because they were undercooked and when they came back it was well cooked but still too thick. The bang bang chicken was not our favorite. The sauce was heavy and I would have preferred it to be a buffalo sauce instead. With that being said, you can't beat the prices and ambiance. The decor is bougie and bright. I loved it! First let me tell you that the restaurant is beautiful. Light wood and open areas give it a nice vibe. Drinks and service was wonderful also. We were a party of 14 so yeah it was tough on the server but she was wonderful. Started with happy hour drinks and some happy hour food which was good. We all later ordered mostly hamburgers and sandwiches which everyone like. Some of us ordered rigatoni meatball pasta which was liked and others ordered the lemon fettuccine. I was disappointed with the lemon fettuccine pasta. It was dry and had no lemon flavor. The other person that ordered it also said the same thing. I believe the food needs to be tighten up a bit to make this restaurant a truly great place. read more

I went there with a friend today for their new brunch. Do not sleep on this brunch. The ingredients were fresh. The food was made to order. We had the blueberry pancakes and a side of steak. Yes an actual side of steak. We kept trying to figure out how they made those thick fluffy pancakes cooked all the way through the middle but still have like a nice crunch on the outside. It was so delicious. We shared it and we each got a latte. The latte art is a work in progress apparently. But the latte was delicious The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. It's kind of a modern Scandinavian style. It is more of a grown-up place. It's not your typical boozy Miami brunch that's really loud. We loved the service. Everything about it was great. If I had to give something negative, I would say the toilet paper in the bathroom is cheap. That's literally the only negative thing I could say about the entire experience. read more

I came here with a group of girls for the first time on a Friday evening. It was supposed to be our first stop of the night and we loved it so much we stayed the entire night. The food was amazing and the cocktails are great. Fantastic HH! AND a late night HH (loved that). The dragon roll was absolutely fire and all the staff was incredible. I have literally never felt more taken care of in my life. Everyone was checking on us and super attentive to our table. Nile was a manager there that was absolutely awesome.
