A nifty record store in Montpelier that's absolutely worth the visit. I don't have a record player anymore, so I just went to browse the stacks & the swaggy merch. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection & the good vibes of the store. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a TPOB shirt for just $20. I saw it & knew immediately that it was coming home with me. I also picked up a Buch Spieler hoodie & I haven't taken it off since I bought it. I've worn it every single day since I visited. High quality, cozy, & downright cool. The employee was friendly & chatty - my favorite. I will definitely be back if I'm in the area (or even just driving by on i89) again. Welcome to our Saturday! We stop in weekly, usually on weekends. They have everything you could want from Adele, to amazing soundtracks, and of course old school vinyl! The guys at Buch Spieler are courteous, and so incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to all things music. My son loves spending time in here, and I cannot thank the staff enough for their patience and kindness with his questions, requests, and chatter! They don't just have vinyl! There are posters, cd's, coffee beans!, and awesome merchandise! For my birthday this year, my husband got me a new record player and speakers from Buch, and it is awesome! The sound quality of the speakers is loud, clear, and perfect. The system itself has great features and a nice cover to keep dust and wandering children's hands away from the vinyls! Buch Spieler Records on Langdon Street in Montpelier VT. is an absolute gem of a record store. It's absolutely worth the PITA parking of Montpelier to go in and browse. Small as records go but they offer an amazing array of new and used vinyl and you can come across some real gems. They have more than willing to special order for me and hold a record for me until I can get there. Staff is terrific, more than willing to help. This store offers a terrific selection of most music genres. They buy used vinyl and they offer cash or store credit (which is always a better deal) and they are transparent in their buying prices and why. They also offer some used stereo equipment. Open 7 days but check out their business hours. I personally have had nothing but a great experience every time I have been it. Holy! I go up and it's closed. He lets me in. I had 15 minutes of utter bliss. Like a vinyl spa or something... I get a great Coltrane record. I ask for an MC5 record (any) ...he gets excited but no go. Then I say..."well I have a real tough one for you and I'm embarrassed..."Bollywood?" He almost jumps out of his seat. That's what I'm into! He takes me over and we dug out some pricy rare shit. I about lost it at his enthusiasm and we just bonded man. Horray this store!!!!! Thanks sir!!! For an awesome experience! If you ever wanted a one-stop shop where you could get LP's, CD's, DVD's, vintage clothing, stereo equipment, and satisfy your need for a humorous/social conscience bumper sticker fix, Buch Spieler is the place. Granted, it's a small business, so don't walk through the door expecting Newbury Comics-esque selection, but I was happy with what I found when I went there. The salespeople were amicable as well, and didn't give the "I'm just working here to save up for an iPod and screw you" attitude that I've often encountered at Newbury's and FYE. Very informative and friendly as one can be. If you're stopping through or if you are in the area for an extended amount of time I would highly recommend stopping in and checking the place out. We stopped in because my son was looking for a record, while browsing I was asking about a certain type of music and the cashier was really helpful showing me different albums and cds. At checkout I specifically told him what record album I wanted along with my sons record album. We paid and left, I noticed the next day at our hotel that cashier put the cd in the bag also. I thought wow that was nice he gave us that. Until I looked farther into it and saw that he charged us. I was specific in telling him what I wanted but will take responsibility for not paying attention to what I was paying for. We were talking a lot with the cashier about being out of towners and just passing through town. Great store but be careful for what you are paying for. read more

I'm an avid vinyl collector. This place is a real gem. It has something for everyone. Even clothes and jewelry for the ladies. The selection of music is very eclectic. The pricing is very fair. No need to check discogs for pricing when going in there. The people are great to talk to and they have a great attitude. They even have dollar records if that's your thing. I love this place!! Good shop with a interesting collection of records. The selection is a little limited, but they definitely have some unique selections. They also sell cassettes, CD's, record players and second hand clothes. Fair prices too! read more

Stopped in here while passing through town and was very impressed by the selection of music that was available. They carry metal albums and band tshirts that I rarely see in other record shops and the staff seemed very knowledgeable and friendly/helpful. There was also a cool vintage clothing boutique attached to the record shop. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing through town. read more
