Pure pop = Pure love. They are hands down the best place in Burlington to go for all your music needs. Ample CDs, records/vinyl (new and old), posters, local band music & merch, you name it! The steps down into the store (it's below street level) are a bit steep but don't let the poster-lined entry way deter you. It's possible that you've even walked past it a million times downtown but it's definitely worth the stop in. My favorite part about Pure Pop, other than the fact that they carry such a diverse array of music, but also that they have several recommendation racks, a sampling from a variety of tastes, along with listening stations to inspire your musical preferences. I've had great luck finding new music and inspiration here and would suggest if you're in a musical slump that you head down, pop on a pair of headphones, and start punching through CDs. Also, they have a small stash of posters for the taking, so look for the bin on your left/under the first shelves of CDs as you first walk in.

Happiest guy in the world with this new release of Howard Shore's soundtrack to The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Thanks, Pure Pop!!

Overrated. Stopped in to find some Tragically Hip albums and they had the same selection as the mall store. Good selection of indie music.

My only complaint is that I'd need to drive up to Burlington to get some new vinyl. I guess that isn't entirely a bad thing. Great shop.

Unsurprisingly it's mostly indie rock, but there's a nice amount of hip-hop, jazz and classic reissues too.

I was pleasantly surprised by the selection & the good vibes of the store. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a TPOB shirt for just $20. I saw it & knew immediately that it was coming home with me. I also picked up a Buch Spieler hoodie & I haven't taken it off since I bought it. I've worn it every single day since I visited. High quality, cozy, & downright cool. The employee was friendly & chatty - my favorite. I will definitely be back if I'm in the area (or even just driving by on i89) again. The guys at Buch Spieler are courteous, and so incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to all things music. My son loves spending time in here, and I cannot thank the staff enough for their patience and kindness with his questions, requests, and chatter! They don't just have vinyl! There are posters, cd's, coffee beans!, and awesome merchandise! For my birthday this year, my husband got me a new record player and speakers from Buch, and it is awesome! The sound quality of the speakers is loud, clear, and perfect. The system itself has great features and a nice cover to keep dust and wandering children's hands away from the vinyls! Keep up the great work! Buch Spieler is a treasure here!!

Where else will a CRT screen air VHS-quality reruns of I Dream Of Jeannie beside a love(and death)seat gothic tableau. Magically scary is right! I can't say there are a ton of practical goods to outfit your complete home, unless you're like Elvira or Pee-Wee Herman or an eccentric millionaire that wants to recreate nuclear family households through the decades. That practical disclosure disclosed, you're bound to find an accent piece or three that gives that IKEA aesthetic you've been glomming on to for years a little break in the ordinary. The wife snagged a cool little countertop cloche for $12. Bullseye. Finally, the name Barge Canal Market just looks like it should be rearranged to spell a code phrase. Maybe by an alt rocker or someone quirky. But not right now or anything. I don't know; I guess we can just "ANAGRAM LATER, BECK" Success!
