This is a great store. Small, but packed with good new and used stuff. Prices are fair. Honest too: a few records warn the buyer to 'check condition' on the price tag, which I haven't seen in any other store. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Bravo! read more

Stopped in here with my parents as part of our Vermont Vacation when we visited the Church Street Marketplace on August 27th 2023. It is a nice organized Vinyl shop with rock and pop artists, plus some jazz albums. My dad found a sealed Pink Floyd the Wall vinyl. There was also lots of Beatles solo and band albums there. Although, the store is a little pricey. For instance, $56.00 for the Beatles 1 album, and i paid $36.00 for a new sealed one at target. But cool because that could have been the original album. We didn't buy anything, but we looked around. Definitely recommend to stop in if you enjoy music! read more

Excellent and eclectic selection of vinyl. Lots of hidden gems--not just the same stuff you always see...

This was the third place I visited in Burlington, and again walked out with several records. All three places had significant strengths. Autumn Records in Winooski has the combo of price and selection, due to their very good $5 bins on the floor. Pure Pop records has the great basement grungy vibe, and has some definite oddities to be found, and their grading system is spot on. Burlington Records is probably the highest priced of the three, but they have the best selection, and have stuff not easily found elsewhere, like a great selection of titles on the Netherlands-based MusicOnVinyl label. Same for the used stuff. I did not walk out with a ton of records, because the prices are high, but what I did walk out with is not easily findable and would cost much more on discogs. I looked mostly at the jazz section, but the other sections looked like they were similarly well stocked. read more

The merchandise is organized by musical genres and a lot of the records are in good condition. My boyfriend throughly enjoyed combing through the jazz records. The posters on the walls can be placed in a tube or cardboard sleeve and shipped. In addition, records can you be shipped out too. The staff friendly and knowledgeable. You can sell your records and 45's here. I did see some items for sale that seemed a bit high compared to other stores I've been too and records purchased. Solid selection of LP's and CD's are offered here. For those that love Vinyl there is a treasure trove of old alternative, rock and pop LP's available. The store is pretty well organized, but I found that prices v. value ratio varied. I found some LP's and CD's cheap, some that I thought were overpriced. Such a cool place. It is exactly something you would expect from this area. It is small shop that is jammed packed. There are records for every type of music you can imagine, old and new. Being that the store is so small, it gets very cramped, especially once you place a bunch of people into the shop. It is also very hot in there. Regardless of those cons, if you like records this is the place to come in this area. read more

Avid record collector from out of town. Came across this place during a road trip through New England. Place has a great selection with a lot of records over every genre that I usually don't come across. Even some rarer ones that I almost never see and have been looking for. The reason for the two star review is the prices. 90% of the records were extremely over priced. $20 for Fleetwood Mac - Rumors?! $35 for Kiss - Alive?! Also saw some records marked as "mint" which were only "good" at best. I mean come on. I don't know what the scene/demand for vinyl is in Burlington but I was a little shocked. Coming from Pittsburgh where we have some of the best record stores in the country and the biggest used record store in the world, maybe I'm a bit more privileged than other places in the U.S. when it comes to cheap records and huge selections. I did buy a record, the Paupers debut record for $12 which was a great value. However, most everything else was outrageously over priced. The prices alone is why I give the two star review. Other than that there was a good selection and the records were in good shape and clean. read more

I loved the store. It isn't very big, but has a decent inventory. They also sell old concert posters. I was in town on vacation. I like record stores that pay attention to having stock in excellent condition. They definitely do that. To make it better, they have a nice listening station. Prices varied. Need to give a shoutout to these people because they really came through for us. My daughter's 70's Technics turntable wasn't working. I went in and described the problem and they diagnosed it as needing a replacement cartridge which they had in stock. As I was leaving the guy who was helping me handed me his card and said call it you have any problems. No problems, but a very happy kid and an appreciative customers. Plus, later when I looked up the online price, it was only marginally higher. Have bought some vinyl here in the past. They have a very good jazz collection and we also found some original issue Talking Heads here that was reasonably priced. read more

Awesome record shop! Got Nas' Illmatic today for my collection. I wish they carried more punk records though - I know record shops usually rely on donations and what people sell them, but still. They had a lot of 45's too, which was great, I love picking up random singles. Also, the guy working there was very nice, professional and prompt. Passing through Burlington and happened upon this fine little store on Record Day. The place was hopping as they had a jazz trio performing in the store. Good inventory across the genres and $1 crates located under the main sort bins. Decent prices in this clean, organized store. Great location off of the main pedestrian thoroughfare. read more

This store opened just a couple years ago (2010 I think?) and thank God they did. The best selection of used records in town, mostly (but not exclusively) rock and pop. Great place to find all those classics to fill your collection. The service is friendly, and though it's mostly your usual 70s and 80s classics, sometimes I've been lucky to find a real gem -- like the last Spoon record, or a hard to find Neko Case live album. Rare enough to see a record store actually *open* its doors these days, better still that it's a great one. read more

Picked up three Burlington band records (one from the 80s) that I had on my want list. Might be the second best record store I've ever been to in Vermont. read more

I have now sold more than 25 records and 10 CDs to Burlington Records and can confirm that the market for these products is not good. Seems like only the best vinyl albums from the biggest artists of my generation -- Stones, Dead, Dylan, Beatles, Allman Bros., Clapton, Who, Stevie Ray, Joni, Judi, Joan, Airplane -- are worth anything these days, and the irony is that those are always going to be the albums I played to death, so they have no market value now. read more

I am a fan of any store that sells records. Small and cozy. It looked like there was a place you could test the records your wanted before you bought it. I am not sure what the deal with that is though. I bought a record from here. Had to wait five minutes for an employee to appear. Eventually he came out of a back room to help me. But other than that no complains. The record works fine and was pretty cheap. read more

I agree with most everyone else as far as the selection, prices, etc. If you plan on selling your items there, however, keep in mind they only pay you 1/3 of what they plan on selling the item for, and it greatly depends on which employee you work with. The skinny guy with glasses always seems to be in a bad mood and acts like he's doing you a favor just by looking at what you took the trouble to bring in. Avoid this guy at all costs. read more
