I was looking for someplace my students could eat for lunch during a recent field trip and decided on Bucharest's Jefferson location. Thankfully, the staff was very accommodating despite the number of unexpected guests/orders. A fryer was down and delayed those orders with fries. The time waiting was happily filled with the kids enjoying desserts from Carrot Cake with a Twist. Although many had never had Bucharest before, the group left completely satisfied having enjoyed their new experience. So grateful for the grace given to our group. read more

I would go to the Bucharest Grill in Royal Oak Michigan and the service there was great! Then was so EXCITED to get one in St Clair Shores Michigan but was soon disappointed!! The last 3 visits there have been HORRIBLE!! orderEd Shawarmas and paid for extras items be added which never happened AND the shawarma was lame it self not as good as Royal Oaks!! Everyone knows that I love BUCHAREST, I eat it during the entire summer for I am a beach bum. Excellent light meal for Belle Isle. I went to Jefferson and I must say this is the 1st time in years that I am disappointed. My chicken shawarma for 10:30 am on a Saturday morning was hard ( the wrap tasted like it had been out since the night before ) to eat at 11:30 am. My salad had shredded feta, they changed from crumbled feta. I don't eat shredded, but for $1.00 up charge. ‍ I still will enjoy without any feta moving forward. My mouth was just watering for a fresh shawarma..... and I guess I need to eat when it is busy to get fresh... Very very busy location. The staff here is pretty cool, at least most of them. It can take a minute for your order to come to the window, I always call ahead. But the food is always delicious. The price is right, and there is no cheese in the wraps. That's a big plus for me. read more

We were visiting Detroit and wanted something we've never had before so we picked this place for a door dash delivery. We got a steak and chicken shawarma wrap. Chicken nuggets and a lamb stick. That steak shawarma was so good. The flavor was amazing and the steak was easy to chew. The nuggets were grilled pieces of perfection. We split the wrap it was so big. I wasn't crazy about the lamb stick but I'm used to roasted lamb without all the added spices. I took the chicken wrap back home and the leftover nuggets and ate on it for a couple days. They always give ample chicken but I'm more of a veggie person. Even after requesting and paying for extra greens, I did not get them. The green peppers are tasting like pestiside instead of a fresh vegetables. The newly packaged olive oil dressing is more vinegary AND no ingredients are on the dressing packaging. Just as good as when I had it over 5 years ago. Hard to locate with the way the exterior sign is displayed vertically. Tons of seating inside as well as a cake shop. I couldn't help myself and got the banana cheesecake pudding. Ordered the Chicken Shawarma and Bucharest Shawarma to go. The Bucharest version is the best with crunchy fries inside and cabbage instead of lettuce. Wrapped in foil, it's the easiest sandwich to eat on the drive home. Every time I'm back in the office, we order carryout from this location at least once (sometimes twice) for lunch. The chicken shawarma sandwiches and salads are HUGE. The marinade that they use for the chicken is packed with flavor and amazing. There's always a slight char on the chicken too, which I love. While visiting Detroit, my co-workers ordered food to go and brought it back to the boathouse we were all working at. They said that Bucharest is well-known in Detroit, but they hadn't tried it yet. But today was a special request from my mother and we had maybe a 15-minute wait it wasn't long but majority of people will do a call in and pick up. You are allowed to wait which they have a seating area or stand to the side I was highly surprised that inside there they had a bakery which was pretty cool. Today I decided to do a beef shawarm a but it was a little dry to me - they gave me plenty of meat though which I was happy about but I thought the meat will be at least a little bit more juicier.
