Love Buck and Rider's daily Happy Hour from 3pm-7pm. Seating for Happy Hour does not take reservations, it is first come first served. Seating is in the bar area for Happy Hour. Happy Hour is a limited menu for food, but still includes oysters, sushi, the voodoo fried rice, their breaded fried chicken, shrimp ceviche. - I have been there for dinner as well, but it's pretty pricey so usually just do happy hour. - Restaurant is pretty. Service has always been attentive and friendly. It's really busy all the time, so either make reservations or be prepared to wait.

Hubby & I had dinner here tonight. We made a reservation a couple weeks ago since it's our 33rd wedding anniversary. We made a reservation for 5PM. We were there on time. We had to wait about 10 minutes until we were seated. It is loud in the restaurant, but not horrible. It was a little difficult to hear our server. I believe her name was Rose. Hubby got water & beer. I got water & Tito's & cranberry juice. They definitely were a heavy pour. I wish they would give you a stir sick to stir the mixed drinks because I had to stir mine. I ended up using my knife to stir it. We ordered the dinner rolls. They were really good yeast rolls. I do wish they were served with butter, but they were good. Hubby ordered the beef ribs since we've never had beef ribs & they come with Carolina Gold sauce, which we love. I read in reviews that the sauce was spicy. They must have changed the recipe because I don't do spicy at all, & the sauce was not spicy to me. My level of spicy is Taco Bell mild. The sauce was really good. Hubby liked his ribs, but wouldn't get them again. They were super tender, but a bit fatty. There wasn't as much meat on the ribs as you would think. I got the crab cakes. I switched my side to a loaded baked potato. There was no charge to switch. The crab cakes were really good, There is no filler, but a crispy panko on top. I was disappointed in my baked potato because it was hot or even warm. I also had shell pieces in both of my crab cakes. This is the reason for only 4 stars. They gave us a card, a complimentary box of macaron cookies, & put a message on the board wishing us a happy 33rd anniversary as we left. The service was good, & the food was good. Due to the price we will only come for special occasions. We don't typically spend $180 with tip for a meal regularly.

Buck & Rider in Gilbert just earned a spot in our top five restaurants. We booked brunch here on a whim while our guests were in town, and it ended up being one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. As parents, one of the first things we notice is the kids' menu--and Buck & Rider absolutely nailed it. Instead of the typical two or three afterthought options, they had an impressive selection of thoughtfully curated meals. Our kids ordered the chicken and rice, and we were blown away by the portion and presentation. It came with chicken, rice, a generous serving of fries, dipping sauce, and fresh grapes. It felt like they actually cared about creating a meal kids would enjoy instead of just checking a box. The food for the adults was just as impressive. The sushi was fantastic, and we ordered one of the large raw bar oyster platters that was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Everything we tried was outstanding. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between upscale and family-friendly, which is surprisingly hard to find. Our kids had an amazing time, our guests loved it, and we never felt out of place dining as a family. We'll absolutely be back--and next time, it'll probably be for a date night. Buck & Rider exceeded our expectations in every way, and we can't recommend it enough.

this was my first time here but my girls are "regulars" and they took me here to celebrate my birthday and let me tell you what a wonderful experience it was! Beautiful restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere and an fabulous staff. We got a bunch of different appitizers and shared them and the food was delicious and the service was top notch! I'm sure it helped that my girls know everyone there but it was extra special I loved the ticker board and loved my birthday wishes that came up

Love it here!!! Shannon is the best server!! Great food and drinks!! Make a reservation!!! It is always soooo busy! With a reservation we were seated quickly!! Got the tofu rolls! Yum and the baked potato was fantastic! The happy hour here is so great, but unfortunately, you can't make a reservation for that so the wait can be very long for that! Today we opted to not do happy hour so we could just be seated right away and we planned ahead

We had such an amazing experience here! I had the smoked salmon trout and it was delicious I could have made a meal out of it and I also had a 1/2 dozen oysters (3 different types) and they tasted so fresh! The drink was perfect. I took banana cream pie home and it was so good. The service was phenomenal! Marshall our server was so nice and attentive it made all the difference esp when my friend had an issue with her food. This is a great place for date night, going out with friends and family, etc. they have plenty of seating and a great view of the sunset! We will definitely be going back!

This truly felt like one of the best date nights. The steak was unbelievably tender like butter to cut and melted in every bite. Banana cream pie is one of my all-l time favorite desserts, and their unique twist on it was so well done. Even the Brussels sprouts stood out, served with a whipped cheese dip that was unexpectedly delicious. Overall, it was such a special meal, made even better sharing it with someone I love, we cant wait to come back

I'm a huge fan of Buck & Rider Arcadia and have been countless times over the years as it's close to my home. So when this Gilbert / East Valley location opened, and my husband and I found ourselves in the area with a couple of hours to spare, we decided to stop in for a bite with another couple. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated no problem (it was a weeknight and not super busy at the time). We found the service, ambiance and food just as consistent as the other location. We enjoyed a sushi roll, a crab cake, and a steak... no drinks this time but we would definitely return. If you're celebrating a special occasion, ask to put a message on their big board - such a nice touch!

One of the most consistent restaurants in terms of quality and service! Sebastian was an amazing server and a favorite for brunch

Wowow looooove. Can't believe it took me so long to come here. Made a reservation for 7:30pm on a Wednesday for 5. We got there early (6pm) and decided to partake in happy hour at the bar (we lucked out w no wait). We went IN on the happy hour deals: For food, loved the oysters (one of each kind is a must), ceviche was MASSIVE (also a must), and fried chicken was good. The specialty roll of the night was salmon + yellowtail, which was good but on the smaller side. Also got a singular oishii shrimp, but it was indeed oishii - very tender and large. For drinks, loved the Ace in the Hole, Kyoto Sour was good but a tad small, and a nice lil' espresso martini to finish. HH pricing ended up being 2/3 of original price, which seems like a great deal since everything was so tasty. Suddenly it was 7:30pm and we migrated to our table, martinis in hand. We did family style, ordering crispy tuna rice (very yum), calamari (good), 2 orders of crab cakes (one w fries, one w baked potato), and a clam chowder. As a Marylander, the crab cakes were large and packed with real crab, no filler. Wish there was Old Bay, but still very happy w these cakes. Tasty shoestring fries as well. Will definitely be back for happy hour!! Ambiance is amazing - cozy, dim but not too dark, and well-decorated. All staff, from the hostess, bar staff, waiters/waitresses, and busboys were friendly and looking sharp. Parking is annoying as expected, given how popular the area is.

Martini while I wait - don't mind if I do!

Parking is a zoo at any location in the Agritopia shopping center area (Higley and Ray). Often times, I avoid coming due to this parking lot if it's a known busy time like a Friday night. We had our heart set, so we braved the parking lot and the quoted 1-1.5hr wait (actual wait time: 53 minutes). Greatly appreciate the staff member who took drink orders while we waited as a martini eases the time waiting! Plus, they had a hydration station with water that is much needed in our Arizona heat - thank you! Our server Alex was phenomenal and provided great insights with recommendations. We greatly appreciate it as it was both of ours first time visiting this establishment to try the Arizona Restaurant Week specials. For my 1800th review on Yelp, I couldn't think of a more fitting review - Arizona Restaurant Week helping me venture out to try somewhere new (the Yelp way)! Lastly regarding the experience, it was quite loud due to it being busy, so appreciate Alex repeating somethings over. Thanks for the great service to make this a great night out! What We Ordered: ~ Onward and Upward (Non-alcoholic): my boyfriend enjoyed the flavor, but wild to think a NA drink is $15! He said likely not a do over. ~ Dirty Vodka Martini + Blue Cheese-stuffed Olives: the first outside was not as good as the one at the table. I'd definitely buy another when returning, especially dining in as the olives were delicious. ~ Fresh Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls: very delicious, and we enjoyed! Definitely a splurge as the price point was $12 for 5 rolls. I did find myself wishing they were served with a nice French butter or even a honey cinnamon butter, which would elevate these and help me justify the price point. ~ Arizona Restaurant Week which included a starter, entree, and the selected dessert (boyfriend: Oysters + Sushi selection and me: Caesar Salad + blackened Texas Redfish): Both my boyfriend and I throughly enjoyed and thought it was well worth the $55 per guest price point. Standouts for him were the oysters and sushi, stating they were very fresh. My standout was the delicious redfish, and the sushi as I tried some of his. Everything was fresh and flavorful! We left talking about when we can return for their actual menu versus restaurant week. Love finding great local places via Arizona Restaurant Week. If in the area, stop by this location!

Buck & Rider is absolutely one of my favorite places to go for happy hour and dinner in general. The atmosphere is fantastic, and their patio is one of the best spots to sit. Do keep in mind though that happy hour doesn't apply on the patio!! The food here is consistently incredible, and all of their appetizers and shareables are amazing as well. The staff is always warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, and service is typically quick with regular check-ins. On this visit, I started with the crispy brussel sprouts as my appetizer and they were fantastic! For my drink I had the "Golden Hour", which was a really refreshing bourbon cocktail. That said, their barrel-aged old fashioned is still my go-to drink of choice. Lastly, for my entrée, I had the trofie pasta (oops, forgot a pic because I ate it too quickly)! This place never disappoints. I will ALWAYS be back. Chefs kiss!

Voodoo fried rice. Needed more real rice and less veggies. But beautiful presentation.

So glad my friend recommended this spot! Service was a 5/5 although our server (we were seated at the sushi bar) really didn't know too much about cocktails... she was very friendly and fairly young. I'll give her a pass. I ordered the playa de piña and it was delicious. Perfectly Smokey, spicy, and flavorful. I especially liked the balance that the cilantro brought. Happy hour is a solid deal here. - Oysters were $2.5 a piece and you could choose any type of oyster they had on the menu and it was still $2.5 a piece. 5/5 for being able to choose the oysters for HH. - We ordered the Voodoo fried rice. It needed more real rice and less veggies. But beautiful presentation. I would give this a 3/5. - shrimp ceviche was plentiful!!!! Would have liked more lime on the side or salt. But the portion, the flavors, and the side of chips that were perfectly fried. 5/5. Atmosphere is a 5/5. Great place to meet up for food and conversation.

Disappointing Anniversary Dinner - Expected More for the Price…read more My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here after getting recommendations from friends who spoke highly of the place. Since we're in the Gilbert area, we loved the idea of a great steakhouse without the drive to Scottsdale. We went in with high expectations -- we're no strangers to special occasion dining, so we knew what we were hoping for. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in almost every way. The ambience and service felt more like a polished chain restaurant than the upscale dining experience the prices suggest. For a $300-$400 dinner for two, you expect a certain level of attentiveness and flow -- and we just didn't get it. After our appetizers, we noticed we never received the pretzel bread everyone raves about. When I asked our waiter, he said they had just finished baking a fresh batch. When it arrived, it was cold -- so that clearly wasn't the case. We also had to flag our waiter down to take our entrée order, which shouldn't happen at this price point. My steak was fine -- just fine. My wife's fish was the same. Nothing memorable, nothing that made us feel like the bill was justified. By the end of the meal we were both ready to leave. Our waiter did offer a complimentary dessert for our anniversary, which was a nice gesture, but we were already checked out mentally and chose to go somewhere else to finish the evening on a better note. If you're in the East Valley looking for a truly special dinner, I'd honestly just make the drive to Mastro's Oceans Club or Steak 44.

The drinks were delivered quickly, and our server was very accommodating and kind. The views of Gilbert are beautiful - bring your sunglasses if you can. I love a good rooftop and the weather was perfect. While they don't have a parking lot, free parking is available on the street and in the various surface lots and garages in the area. Ambiance (4.5/5): It's tough to beat a rooftop. Here you'll have nice views of downtown Gilbert, including the historic Gilbert water tower (which lights up at night). It's not a huge restaurant/bar, probably 50 seats or so. A good number of tables and then 15 seats or so at the bar. We sat at the bar. There's a pretty nice mural on one end too. Service (4/5): A little slow to start out with and to close out, but overall, friendly. We found one of the last four remaining seats at the bar. If not for that, there would have been a wait. One drink and then we made our way. Overall, about average. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet for this visit but they do have a full menu. Drinks (4/5): Interesting craft cocktail list. The first one on the list is a Sotol cocktail. If you've never had Sotol, it's a Mexican spirit. Not tequila and not mezcal, but somewhat similar to mezcal and it does have a bit of a smoky flavor. The Sotol So Good has sotol, butterfly pea, coconut rum, pineapple, lime, and orgeat. It's purple so it makes an impression. It packs a punch too. If you're looking for a cool spot to grab some food and drinks in the heart of downtown Gilbert, when the weather is nice, Sotol is a great choice!

At Joe's Farm Grill, the quality of ingredients does show in every single dish you get. Another thing to mention is, when you're done ordering your food at the register, they are pretty fast regardless of how packed the place is which pleasantly surprised me! For the onion rings, I liked them for a few reasons. Starting off, the onions weren't soggy by any means which I love in a good ring, batter wasn't the majority of the ring which is also a great sign, and lastly the crunch was very nice with them coming out fresh. The Fontina burger has a great beef patty that carries its flavor by how clean it tastes alongside the mushrooms that are the other biggest taste factor for this burger. Finally, the baby back ribs were the star for me personally because you can actually taste the pork for its quality. I usually expect a super sweet sauce that bogs me down after with ribs, but these ones left me feeling able to still go on about my day which I love. They aren't shake off the bone tender but I liked the gentle chew they provide. Overall, I recommend Joe's to anyone who cares more about the ingredient sourcing and quality while enjoying a nice family friendly vibe for a lunch/dinner. They have a great outdoor patio seating for times when it's not over 100 degrees.

The service was on top of things & the few staff members we encountered were happy & friendly. There was plenty of parking. The food was good but nevertheless, I was disappointed with my biscuit & sausage gravy scramble. Its description states "loaded with Schreiner's pork bacon sausage". Can YOU spot any sausage in the photo? That's because there was hardly any. Despite that, the gravy was flavorful, and the potatoes were exceptionally seasoned. The biscuit was a bit small for the price. My sister enjoyed her waffles & chicken. Would we return? The jury is still out.
