Wanted to really like this place, as this was our second visit before writing a review. Was greeted promptly and sat immediately. We ordered the Monday special (chicken Philly). Unfortunately, it took over 30 minutes before we received our order. The sandwich was without much flavor and the cheese sauce was very grainy. The atmosphere had a nice vibe, well-decorated in a trendy, nicer way but then absolutely packed with TVs playing sports. Like our area with just around 8 dinner tables had at least 6 big screens. I've only been to this location so unsure if they're all like this or the previous business just left TVs and they kept them? They kept the volume off which was great for eating and enjoying the company you came with. Service was great - friendly and attentive and handled our large party well. They also had the handheld machines for payment which made divvying up checks easy. The drink menu was extensive with a lot of classics with a twist and creative options. All the drinks came out looking well made. Mine was tasty! The food is what brought this down. Korean egg rolls sounded fun but were dry and boring. I took a couple bites and called it quits on that. The burger was especially disappointing. Listed as a 1/2 patty of brisket and steak, I sure wasn't expecting the tiny dry puck that arrived. It did have a good char on it. Just sadly thin, unseasoned, massively overcooked. Then it came on a dry bun. So so dry. The whole thing. A sad dry little patty on a sad dry bun. Butter? Mayo? Burger fat?? Anything would have helped. Then some lettuce, tomato, onion on the side. Truly one of the worst burgers I've ever had. Came with a small amount of pretty good fries though. It was my first time eating at Parlay. My husband tried this place before with coworkers for happy hour and liked it, so he wanted me to try. The calamari dish was slightly overcooked. My husband was disappointed since he said they were perfect last time. I was surprised to see they used zucchini, which tasted fine. The chicken in the risotto was nicely cooked, but the risotto was mushy. I am glad I ordered the balsamic sauce on the side and added only what I needed. We wanted just something small at almost 2 pm. I ordered a French onion soup and my husband ordered the pretzel rolls with red dragon cheddar sauce on the side. When we got to the restaurant we were seated as soon as we got there. Our waitress appeared after a minute and took our drink order and gave us menu's. Very pleasant personality. The restaurant is set up like a sports bar with tv's on all walls. There was sports on some screens and various other programs. They had music playing throughout and it was a very nice and pleasant atmosphere. As for the food the French onion soup was amazing. It had all the gooey cheese melted on top and it had lots of onions. This was the first time ever that this kind of soup was not salty. Usually I can go thru multiple glasses of water and or/tea. In fact the soup for some people could use salt. I enjoyed it the way it was. Altho my husband's dip and pretzel roll was good it was quite a rip off to us. It literally came with 2 finger rolls cut in half, small cup of the cheese dip for $14. I thought the price was ridiculous for what you got. We were both excited to go on a date night, it's been a minute. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated in a booth with menus. Our server introduced herself and brought us waters. She then took our appetizer order and said she'd be back to take our dinner orders. The restaurant was starting to fill up and we patiently waited. Our appetizer and beer came out. We enjoyed it, it was really good. We were still waiting for our dinner order to be placed and just kind of glanced around. Our server made eye contact with us and said she would drop off another tables drinks and be right back to take our order. She ended up taking the party of 8+ orders first and then came back to us, (granted, they came prob 15/20 minutes AFTER we arrived). We were there for over an hour before she took our dinner orders. The food did come out in a timely manner and tasted great. We had to hurry and eat, pay the ticket and then get to our scheduled event. Ordered take out which was a process for sure even over the phone... I ordered well done buffalo wings... I got barely cooked plain flavorless nothing. Ordered French soup. Got onions in some type of broth... Came back today for dinner and their live music From the food to the drinks, this place has definitely gotten it right. The live music was good and not too loud. While it was busy, there was plenty of space between tables, so it didn't feel crowded/packed. The atmosphere is open and welcoming. I've been to their other location off Price and the 202 (just as good), but I love this location even more. It's close to our neighborhood, making it a perfect spot for a quick drink or a casual dinner. Definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to! read more

The decor is modern with lots of televisions. The hostess area separates the bar which has live music and the dining area. The entertainment in the bar is loud so if you want to have a conversation then request a table in the restaurant area. Brunch at Parlay's Kitchen was... an experience. Drinks? Great--mimosas for my friends, a couple of beers for me. Food? Also great... when it finally showed up correctly. I wanted the country fried steak and eggs, but they were out, so I settled for the chicken and waffles. Crispy, tasty, no complaints--except they gave me a thimble of syrup for a waffle the size of a hubcap. My friend's veggie omelette was good too, but they forgot the whole "no mushrooms" thing and forgot we ordered double potatoes (how do you forget extra potatoes?!). The staff was super friendly, but also super forgetful. They said they'd wipe down our table, but I guess that was just a cute suggestion. This has to be one of my favorite new places. The big charcuterie board was absolutely fantastic. Every single thing on there was something I wanted to eat, and I could've done so all by myself even though it was way big enough to share. All the fruit on it was fresh and sweet and juicy. The cheeses were perfect choices. The spreads and the bread were amazing and the meats really hit the spot. Isaac took great care of us and he made great drink recommendations that I could've had so many more of because they were mixed so well. We went for Mother's Day Brunch because we had been for dinner and it was pretty good, So we thought brunch would be good. Had to wait for plates because none were clean, a lot of the food was gone and not being re-filled. The food that was there was overcooked and just not good. Omelet station looked ok but you only could pick 3 items for your omelet and cheese counted as 1 of them. They ran out of orange juice or you could only get it if you got a mimosa because those were being served still. The way it was all set up was unorganized. So excited there's a location so close to our house! We decided to stop in on a Fri night at 515pm and got seated almost right away. The place is packed (both in the dining room and bar area). Love that they have so much space inside, plus the patio, and a private room for special occasions! The place is completely different from the old Fat Willy's that was here. As soon as you open the door, you can immediately sense the lively ambiance with an elevated Gastropub feel. The potted plant chandeliers are gorgeous, as well as the wood panel accents, the wine wall, and the AZ scape mural. Our server Isaac greeted us almost immediately and filled us in on the little history of the renovation, and he was great helping me order a modified cocktail (I got the Mai Tai minus the dark rum, so the bartender added some extra pineapple rum). Hubby ordered the Shrimp Pesto pasta and the Scottsdale blonde. The pesto was tasty, though he said thought it was more creamy and cheesy than having the pesto flavor he'd anticipated. The prawns were just about perfect; very well-cooked and seasoned. The only negative was having to take the tails off (not pleasant with a creamy sauce). I got the berry salad with a side of French fries (again Isaac was great offering input on which version of the fries he prefers). The salad was the perfect size and you could tell the berries and greens are fresh. The dressing was the perfect compliment and it was all delicious. The French fries were bomb..."meaty" centers with crisp battered outside. They were devoured! The drink was tropical and delicious, and Isaac was great helping me get an extra shot of the juice since I'm a weakling with alcohol! This review is for the Gilbert Rd. location. This had become one of my favorite places to dine. This was my 5th visit and so, so disappointing! I had the lemon rosemary chicken on my first visit and every time after including this time. When we ordered, I asked what the accompanying vegetable was going to be and the server replied broccoli. At my previous visit, it was grilled and every bit as phenomenal as the chicken. I ordered my very favorite Guinness and waited patiently with my friend for our entrees (takes about 1/2 hour for the chicken). It was served with peppers and squash. Not only am I highly allergic to capsaicin (the juice in peppers) but I don't care for mushy squash. When I asked why she didn't return to the table and tell me it was not going to be grilled broccoli, she said she didn't think it would make any difference. My entire meal had to be remade. I waited another half hour for my entree while my friend ate hers while it was hot. When it finally came out, it was so salty, I could not eat it. It was cringe-worthy! When the bill came, there was no recompense for anything. I thought they could have at least comp'd my Guinness! I have taken two other friends with me previously but I I'm not sure I will be returning. read more

The homefries were nice a crispy, just like I like them! The tacos were good but needed something to make them great.
