I had a hardware problem with an external drive and hit google to see if I could find a local business that could do it for cheaper than Google's recommendations (1tb of videogames that I can re-install is not worth $500+ to me and that was the lowest quote I received). Buckeye Computer Service was not only the closest but the only company listed that had "Data Recovery" in their services. I have had some rough experiences with Google claiming a company performed a service or was open at a certain time and being incorrect, so I called in advance to be sure. Troy, whose phone number was listed online, failed to answer (been there, done that. Life is busy) but had a voicemail set up asking to leave contact info and any info on what the call was about. I left a message explaining my predicament with all the information I had (basically just that my pc read hardware issue and the model of the drive) and EXPLICITLY asked for a text in response. I do it with every voicemail I end up sending and it is ignored 9/10 times. To my great surprise, Troy not only replied to my request by text but was also very courteous and helpful. In one text I was informed that Buckeye was unable to fix such intricacies as the physical parts of an external drive and that it would likely be expensive to fix (a correct statement). Troy saved me a trip up to his company and gave me all the information necessary to make the informed decision to just install my games on a new drive and bite the bullet in time instead of cash. Bonus points for the fact that the aforementioned text was sent to me in a timely manner. I got the information I needed within 2 hours, which is very reasonable considering I was asking for a seemingly unorthodox and clunky method of communication DURING the busy shift. read more

I have used Buckeye Computer Service twice now. The first time, I dropped my laptop and broke the "bezel" or something that connected the screen to the keyboard. Buckeye Computer Service was able to locate a replacement parts quickly, and when he received the item, he was able to fix my laptop good as new in just a few days. The second time was following the death of my husband. We gathered up all the computer equipment (about 30 years of computer electronics). Buckeye Computer Service picked them up along with an external hard drive and copied all the files he could locate on all the equipment (including a 3" floppy). He also handled disposal of everything except flash/thumb drives, which he returned as I requested. I will contact Buckeye Computer Service for future computer issues. read more

My service call to Buckeye Computer service yesterday wasn't the first time I've used this company. Troy worked on a couple of issues for me last year. Troy is pleasant, competent and professional. He doesn't waste your time with idle chit-chat to run up the time spent, he gets right to work. He was able to figure out what the end-user (me) had done and was able to resolve all the issues. In addition, he ran a malware cleaner and optimized my pc and itis now blazingly fast. I've checked rates for in-home computer service and Buckeye rates are competitive - PLUS, if you need help periodically, the cost is even more valuable because there's no time wasted trying to figure out your system after the first visit. Great customer service. Very prompt response. Extremely knowledgeable. Troy made me feel comfortable and put me at ease right away. He diagnosed the issue very quickly and made an appointment to come to my home in a few days based upon my schedule and what was convenient for me.
