My husband, son (5) & daughter (3) stayed here in 2017 for 4 nights. We were tent camping. 1st, the smell from the septic field was really bad for about 24 hours during our stay. But the worst was the bathhouse. Hair, trash, mold were in all 3 shower stalls. & Stayed that way for all 4 days. A sign on the mirror stated for women to please clean up after themselves. It appeared that was the only clean up these bathrooms received. I would not date step any the shower without shower shoes on. There were also several people hanging around outside the bathrooms smoking. It's hard to believe there are still so many people who are so oblivious to how nasty smoking is. My husband confirmed the men's restroom was every bit as bad as the women's. I feel really bad for the people living there (and there appears to be a LOT of permanent residents) & having to use the showers daily.

It was okay going in, but when it came time to pull out we had a mess of a time because there was a gazebo across from us. We were lucky a gentleman on a tractor helped us. He watched the front while I watched the right side. I was bending branches to avoid worst scratches on our fifth-wheel. Our new Brinkley is 10 months old and we were furious this happened. We were told others were trying to get them to trim the trees to avoid this problem. They have square stones going to the office and swimming pool. They need to level them and add sand around them so they're not uneven and able to trip. We went to use the washers. We loaded the clothes and added the soap/softener just to have problems with the money. I went into the office and was told to call the number on the washer because they don't own them, nor do they address any problems with them. We will not return!!

FHU 50 amp, good water pressure. Fun walk around the lake where we saw some gators in the pond. Our pups enjoyed that walk. It's a drive to Hilton Head, so wish this place was closer to sites. Walmart was within a reasonable distance. None of the nearby restaurants appealed to us so we didn't dine locally. The issues we ran into: 1) the laundry only takes credit cards. And when we tried to use, it charged us but then gave an error code. Go inside for help (not Roslyn) and we were told they can't help us call a third party. Frankly, that's weak. So no laundry got done. 2) the pool was COLD. It's evidently not heated or they just recently filled it. Several others (including kids) said it was too cold to enjoy. 3) when we went to leave, we had MAJOR trouble avoiding a tree and the gazebo directly in front of our site. To the point we were so stuck one of the gentlemen that works there had to help us get out. He told us they have been wanting to take that tree out for that very reason. I wish I caught his name - very good job helping us, after some "pinstriping". They need to take it out, or at least trim the branches on that tree up above 14 ft. My first ever stay with Thousand Trails - and obviously this place. I wouldn't stay here again. Perhaps not Thousand Trails either, since the reviews indicate other sites are similar. We enjoyed our time at Hilton Head both days we were there. But this location isn't great for that trip.

If you know this perhaps providing that information when you confirm a reservation is logical. Can you imagine no possible way to turn around on a one lane wide road that turns to dirt in a 45 foot RV flat towing a Lincoln Nautilus? I blame the GPS but she knew! Please tell people the exit number and not to rely on some GPS Systems. The Newmar Nav system was wrong. Waze was correct. Okay! The place is nice but no picnic table? No Fire pit? We were there Sept 11-14 and maybe 15 other sites were occupied. They have over 300 sites and they are nicely paved, the grass is struggling but they have nice landscaping. As I walked around with my dog I noted that on the other side the sites had tables and fire pits. If I were running that place I'd say, "your assigned site is without a table or fire pit. If you'd like I can give you a free upgrade to one that s available." That is the southern hospitality that I've experienced in Savannah in the past. I actually feel that at a RV Resort a table and fire pit should be automatic. The upgrades to me are lake side, larger site, close to the pool, etc. That has been my experience at other RV resorts. When you check in you are given 1 sheet, map on one side, rules on the other. No where does it say, " Welcome to Savannah Lakes RV Resort! Enjoy your stay". Again, don't expect southern hospitality. The rules are harshly stated. Prior to arrival I looked for an address to have a package sent for us. It stated that they will not receive packages for guests and that mail would be returned to the sender. I've never experienced that before! We are in our 5th year of RVing for the summer. We look for resort type places to stay. This one has beautiful new amenities. However, NO trash pick up! We could not find a dumpster! Had the trash and stoped one of the workers who kindly took it saying the dumpster is at the exit. Then I saw it close to where we checked in. Hopefully they will make some adjustments or, sorry to say, this place will not survive. Each year more RV Resorts are opening.

We had to cancel our…read morereservation due to the storm, I left a voicemail and sent an email, which they claimed they never got. The manager refused to speak to me to discuss the issue and the girl at the front desk hung up on me. I used every possible means of communication to be sure they received my cancellation since they were not answering their phones during business hours. I have never encountered a manager who refused to get on the phone with a customer who was having issues.

They made sure I was all set in a site and helped me get set up. Check in was very easy and can't say enough great things about the staff. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Campground. Even though I am not a KOA member the way I was taken care of I can say I will surely visit other KOA's.
