Telephone booth with a book exchange inside
    Kimberly N.

My family recently took an RV trip from Florida to Maine and back, and this was the first KOA we stayed at. It was clean and well cared for. The kids loved the playground, and there was a red telephone booth that had a book exchange inside. This was a really nice place to stay.

I just can't say enough nice things about this super cute campground. I've camped forever, but never been to a KOA. It was lovely. I think it was a bit more like glamping. It was my first time doing that as well. And it was so much fun! My husband and I shared a camp site with some friends of ours. The pad was spacious and lined with rubber mulch. There is a picnic table as well as a long corner bench and extra table. There is plenty of room to set everything out. They have a swimming pool that is super cute. They have a store, bar, pizza joint combo that serves local beers and wines. They have daily wine and beer tastings. The staff is super happy and friendly. The bathrooms are clean. There is a small pond close by that you can walk around or fish there. What more could you ask for!

This is only our third KOA stay with our new travel trailer, but by far the best one!! From the layout/sites to the cute decor to the pizza, beer, and wine available (inside the office/store area or the food can be delivered to your site!) to the cute pool to the nice clean bathrooms and last but not least the VERY friendly very helpful staff...I can't say enough! We only stayed overnight on our way home, but plan to go back to stay there longer in order to explore the places near it: Charleston, Hilton Head, and Beaufort. We love this KOA!

This is a great campground, everything exceeded our expectations. The ONLY issue we have are the people in the next cabin had a little yippy dog barking at 6am on. So much for sleeping in. But don't let this deter you, the office staff said no matter how early/late it is to please contact them so it can be put to a stop right away.

This was our third time staying at the KOA, the last time was in 2014 and we stayed in one of the cabins. This time we stayed in the Kaboose and it was a neat experience. It was clean and easy to get into. The only negative thing I have to say about my stay was the safety lights on the ramp are very bright and lights up the interior of the Kaboose.

What a joy! We are tent campers who only live about 45 minutes away, we wanted to get away for a quick night and found this place online. It was perfect! Clean, great tent sites, all the amenities one could want! They also had a coffee bar, pizza shop and .... WINE BAR! The staff was so friendly and a pleasure to talk with! Mike and Jersey Girl are the best!!!

This little KOA is so clean, quiet and relaxing. Check in was easy with Kate who was so sweet! They escort you to your camping site .....Ally was our escort and she was very nice. They have a pizzeria on site with pizza and wings and they even deliver. They have a nice pool, life size chess board, corm hole and playground for the kids. This KOA is definitely worth the stop if you're in the area. Thanks Kate and Ally for such hospitality.

All hooked up and ready to sleep

It was okay going in, but when it came time to pull out we had a mess of a time because there was a gazebo across from us. We were lucky a gentleman on a tractor helped us. He watched the front while I watched the right side. I was bending branches to avoid worst scratches on our fifth-wheel. Our new Brinkley is 10 months old and we were furious this happened. We were told others were trying to get them to trim the trees to avoid this problem. They have square stones going to the office and swimming pool. They need to level them and add sand around them so they're not uneven and able to trip. We went to use the washers. We loaded the clothes and added the soap/softener just to have problems with the money. I went into the office and was told to call the number on the washer because they don't own them, nor do they address any problems with them. We will not return!!

FHU 50 amp, good water pressure. Fun walk around the lake where we saw some gators in the pond. Our pups enjoyed that walk. It's a drive to Hilton Head, so wish this place was closer to sites. Walmart was within a reasonable distance. None of the nearby restaurants appealed to us so we didn't dine locally. The issues we ran into: 1) the laundry only takes credit cards. And when we tried to use, it charged us but then gave an error code. Go inside for help (not Roslyn) and we were told they can't help us call a third party. Frankly, that's weak. So no laundry got done. 2) the pool was COLD. It's evidently not heated or they just recently filled it. Several others (including kids) said it was too cold to enjoy. 3) when we went to leave, we had MAJOR trouble avoiding a tree and the gazebo directly in front of our site. To the point we were so stuck one of the gentlemen that works there had to help us get out. He told us they have been wanting to take that tree out for that very reason. I wish I caught his name - very good job helping us, after some "pinstriping". They need to take it out, or at least trim the branches on that tree up above 14 ft. My first ever stay with Thousand Trails - and obviously this place. I wouldn't stay here again. Perhaps not Thousand Trails either, since the reviews indicate other sites are similar. We enjoyed our time at Hilton Head both days we were there. But this location isn't great for that trip.

Highly recommend this RV park.

Honestly, you might want to avoid it at all times due to the relentless noise. Between the train tracks running right through the property at all hours, heavy traffic buzzing from nearby roads, and military planes and helicopters rattling the sky all day from your neighboring military airbase, peace and quiet simply do not exist here. Another reviewer suggested using earplugs, but trust me: nothing is going to save your sanity when a full-blown freight train blares its horn at 3 a.m. every morning! We booked way in advance online for a week-long plus stay, only to be placed in a spot with absolutely zero shade. When we asked to move, the head staff, Leslie's favorite catchphrase was "just call us next time." Good to know & thanks so much for this lovely help, Leslie! To cool down, you can always hike an eighth of a mile to their very nice pool. Just be prepared for the "gravel gauntlet" (similar to your site, by the way)--navigating loose rocks in flip-flops while carrying pool gear in the heat isn't much fun. Ultimately, we've stayed in cheaper, friendlier, and much more accommodating places. Unless you really love the blazing sun, constant noise and unhelpful office manager, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
