I'm going to give this 5 stars right out of the gate! Quaint property. Very well appointed for the small exterior space. Multiple uniquely situated seating areas with umbrellas and other options for shade. A lot of thought went into all the clever details that make up for the lack of outdoor space. I'm not complaining! It's pet friendly and other than the dishes of fresh water outside you'd never know. The room is beautiful! Perfect use of space. Nicely appointed & very comfortable. The bathroom is magnificent and very clean!! Lots of towels! The hotel is quiet despite its proximity to the road. This is not a place for young children. Infant yes but toddler no. Which suits me just fine! There's nothing worse than children running up and down outside or above- there's none of that here! The customer service is fantastic. There are 2 bottles of wine in the room! A red on the desk and a white in the refrigerator! I don't know how much they are but I don't care! It's a perfect touch! There are plenty of glasses and complementary bottles of water in the refrigerator! The attached coffee shop is also adorable, very well appointed and comfortable. The best iced Mocha I have ever had! This hotel is perfectly situated within walking distance of the river, unique shops and plenty of restaurants!! Will definitely be back!

This hotel is very clean with great bathrooms and has a coffee shop conveniently located on the ground floor (good coffee). The hotel is in a great location for walking to all downtown restaurants and shopping. They leave cookies on your door at night too!

We very much enjoyed our stay here. We felt like it was a true "home away from home" experience. Let's start with the welcoming staff. We were warmly greeted the moment we set foot into the office and were shown directly to our room, #205, on the upper level. We were shown around our room and told about the hotel amenities. There were multiple offers to help us with our bags. The rooms have been nicely done in a neutral palette with pale green accents. The king size bed was nicely made up and was one of the more comfortable hotel beds I've slept in. The mattress had a foam topper that was heavenly. The pillows were great too. I am very particular about pillows and these were very much to my liking. The bathroom was nicely designed. There was a large shower room with a rain shower fixture that I adored. Although I am not a bath person, those who are will love the very deep soaker tub although for some it might actually be a trick to climb into. There is a flat screen TV in the bathroom in direct view of the tub for your soaking and show watching pleasure. The towels were soft, amply sized, thick and thirsty. Adorable and very much appreciated were the cotton waffled robes that were provided. My one tiny bathroom complaint involved the paper products. And as indelicate as it might be to mention, I would humbly suggest that they upgrade these items at once. The toilet paper and the tissues were very rough and it got downright uncomfortable after the first couple of days. There is a complete gym attached to the hotel which can be used for free. As well, the hotel provides bicycles. Although we didn't use them this time, I can well imagine cycling through this lovely town on another visit. The hotel is centrally located in downtown Beaufort so walking or biking would be the preferred mode of transportation especially if you're interested in taking a gander at some of the grand homes in the historic district. A bottle of red and white wine (the white being nicely chilled in the room refrigerator) is offered in the room at an extremely reasonable $16.00 per bottle. Along with wine glasses and an ice bucket you are all set for a glass of wine while getting ready to go out for dinner. The highly attentive staff will get you ice or whatever else you might require 24 hours a day. They have a lovely turn-down service every evening. We would return to our room each evening to find the bed ready to be jumped into along with two cookies and a card with the next day's weather printed on it. Right next to the hotel is a coffee shop. We were given coupons entitling us to two 16 ounce cups of coffee every day. Every morning this was most welcome. And the coffee choices were all terrific. This shop also sold baked goods, assorted other drinks, newspapers including my beloved NY Times and even a selection of wines. We hope one day to have a home in this town, but until then I would return to stay in this hotel very happily indeed.

Fantastic location! Walking distance to a bunch of fun. Clean rooms (although there was an elusive baby crab on the loose we didn't find until the morning after our stay). Awesome bathrooms! Exactly what we needed. Huge fan of City Java News on premise.

Loved the location! Can walk around town easily! Great beds, towels, bathroom! And shower! No coffee pot but coffee shop on property and $5.00 voucher to use there! Parking spaces are narrow and limited! Overflow parking lot is available! Take a side trip to Hunting Island State Park! Absolutely beautiful !! And a beautiful beach! And lighthouse! Wish it was warmer out! I'd do a beach afternoon!

Through our research, we finally settled on 607 Bay Inn and I'm glad we did. We were graciously welcomed upon arrival and given a lay of the land which included two communal kitchens, the veranda and balcony, and our room. Our room was situated on the second floor at the back of the house. Each room has its own private bath. We also received vouchers to be used for breakfast at our choice of a couple of different eateries downtown. 607 Bay is easily within walking distance of shopping and restaurants as well as the waterfront. The inn has delightful waterfront views itself. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony as well as our evening nightcap. It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized I had an appreciation for architecture, especially that of the previous century or two. This inn has that charm in spades. Though the essentials are updated as you can see from the pictures, the old wooden floors have a creak to them and the doors to the front of the house have notes on how to open them with ease. It's a charm that, to me, is priceless. Everything at the inn was well appointed. We had zero issues during our stay. If we're ever back in the area, staying here again would be an easy yes for us. I would recommend it for you as well.

The place can use some updating and they seem to be doing that - part of the house is under construction looking like a new deck in the works and at night also work being done to the lobby. The room we booked is a "courtyard queen studio" which has the following description on the website - "Our Courtyard Queen Studio guest rooms are ideal for business or solo travelers. These rooms feature queen beds and stand-up showers. The upper-floor studios have private verandas that overlook the semi-private Lower Courtyard, and the ground studios have lovely front patios and gardens adjacent". However our room doesn't seem to match much of the description other than it has one queen bed, as the bathroom has a small tub, and we are on the second floor but no veranda (maybe second floor is not "upper floor"?). Anyway also not sure why they are called "studios" since it's just one standard room. Anyway other than that our overall stay is comfortable enough - the ceiling fan is a good feature. Breakfast is a bit of an issue however. The inn doesn't provide breakfast so you are given a voucher to have breakfast at one of two nearby cafes. Each voucher basically only subsidizes your breakfast by $7 or $10 respectively which is not enough to include coffee or tea and depending on what food you order will not cover the full amount of that either. That came as a surprise and is not what I'd expected when breakfast is supposed to be included. I don't mind going somewhere else for breakfast but the voucher should cover a set menu that includes at the very least breakfast food and beverages.

During my longer stay, several issues started to add up and made the experience disappointing. Pros: +The gym is nice and well-equipped. +The beds are reasonably comfortable. +The location is convenient, with several restaurants and cafés nearby. +The elevators worked reliably during my stay. Cons: -As a member of Hilton, they gave no water. -There is no free or complimentary breakfast. -The shower water never gets truly hot, it only gets warm. -The sink also did not provide hot water, which made shaving difficult. -When I arrived, the shower was not clean and still had someone else's hair in it, which I had to clean myself. -The toilet was not clean upon arrival and doesn't flush properly unless you hold the handle down. -Housekeeping was very inconsistent. During my stay of more than four days, the room was only "cleaned" once, and even then they only made the bed. Items like toilet paper and other supplies were not replenished; I was left with a nearly empty roll and had to get another myself. -The complimentary shower soap dispenser was empty and never refilled. It's a small thing, but it's the principle since it's supposed to be provided. -The mini-fridge never got cold, only slightly cool. -The TV only had very basic channels. -The walls are very thin. I could clearly hear conversations in the next room, including a couple being intimate. I'm sure they could hear my TV as well when I turned it up to drown out the noise. -The pool was locked during my stay, even on a 90-degree day, and it didn't appear to be well maintained. Overall: For a very short stay, the hotel may be acceptable due to its location and decent gym. But for longer stays, the cleanliness issues, inconsistent housekeeping, lack of hot water, and noise from thin walls made the experience frustrating. I don't recommend this hotel.
