I was happy to see that my appointment only took one hour today rather than 3 hours. The dental assistant was professional and very nice. Becca, the hygenist, was very sweet too. She was wonderful to talk to, was a great listener and gave a lot of helpful tips and great advice. Ellen, the receptionist, was very professional too and was very friendly. I really liked the hygienist, she did a great job. But the office is very pushy on doing unnecessary work. They wanted to replace my fillings with crowns even though the fillings were in good shape and I had no pain. They didn't even let me leave the chair after my first 2 crowns til I put a payment on the next 4! I am really glad I got a second opinion! Apparently I didn't need any of them! Also, when I called to get my X-rays sent to another dentist for a second option they wanted me to call and talk to them and put me on hold for 20 min after I signed the release. It's a weird practice. They wanted to know if I was doing this to close my account. I wasn't initially but they treated me so poorly I am now. I have never been so embarrassed! I am a trusting person and trusted they knew what was best for me but it seems like it's a money grab. read more

I recently completed the full replacement of all of my upper teeth by the Dental Team at RA Dental Studio in Alpharetta, Georgia. I'm over 70 years old, and my teeth look better now than when I was in high school. They look real, not manufactured, because they are individual crowns, not plates. This has to be the absolutely best dental service I have ever had. First when you walk in, the staff is so inviting and warming. They use state of the art ipads to do your paperwork/forms. I had a deep cleaning done as well as a crown, and both were great experiences. The dental staff who work on you are extremely nice and gentle. Dr. Akbar is the best. She explains everything thoroughly and is very gentle when performing her diagnosis and the actual process of having your dental work done. I had to be numbed in my mouth and when she gave me my shots, I didnt even feel them. Normally I feel a large pinch, but I didnt feel anything. I would say I have definitely found my dental home. You should definitely schedule a consultation and see for yourself. It will be the last dental office you will want to visit. STOP SPAMMING MY PHONE, EMAIL AND MAILBOX!! I will not be returning- Came in for a regular cleaning and had an X-ray done... but the best part ?! They didn't put the protective jacket on me during the screening. What ?!? Then I was pushed into buying their products and was never even shown the images, just was told that I need to floss more (and buy their expensive floss). Another family member of mine was shown X-ray images that weren't really his teeth and was told that he has 4 cavities. Went to a different dentist and was told had no cavities. They also told him he needs to floss more, he said he flosses everyday (which he does) then they said "oh then you need to use a different floss" LOL. Both of us experienced a rushed process and seemed like we were battling a sales person the whole time who was trying to get us to buy random stuff they were selling. Not to mention that I have been here before and called beforehand making the app to ask what the price would be for the cleaning. Was told a price and came in - at the front desk before the start of the cleaning I asked again to confirm the amount and was told a much higher amount than what I was promised on the phone. "But we will do it this time for you" (in a very uncomfortable and demeaning voice). Well don't worry about doing it another time for me because I won't be returning. Run don't walk from this facility. They are reluctant to give quotes. Then where they are forced to give quotes, they do not stand by them. One recent appoint was for cleaning covered by insurance and verified by them before appointment. Once at appointment, they refused to give cleaning and wanted $483 for deep cleaning(which included gracious 20% discount from their insurance). Walked out of office at this point. Another quote went from $4000 to $6000. It is impossible to get them to provide accurate information. Second opinions are a must with this provider. Guess what? After threatening to walk out for denial of cleaning from insurance, cleaning was performed. Thank-you for standing by your insurance, but could use less hassle to get what was already promised and paid for. Also, why do I receive emails from this provider every week about all your open appointments? If you treated people fairly you would not have so many cancellations and open appointments every week. Look at you business model and figure why!! read more

I have have 2 procedures done here and will not be returning. I have VERY bad dentist anxiety and the office's sedation options, as well as their hours, made this an great fit for me. The first procedure was a root canal with Dr. Asemota, who was nice enough, but when I told her that the sedation wasn't working basically just told me to calm down, that I was fine. That would be a normal reaction if I hadn't paid for sedation and hadn't been trying to tell her it wasn't working. She was not able to finish my root canal and was told to go to a specialist. That was fine, my roots for that tooth were weird, not her fault. When it came time to have more work done, I decided to go with Dr. Akbar as I was turned off of Asemota after the sedation comments. Dr. Akbar was nice to begin with, but there were a few condescending comments about all the work I've had to have done before (long history of dental work due to medications and other circumstances that she knew nothing about, she had just decided it was because of bad dental care on my part). After this procedure I was given a number to call about my crown and told to call as soon as I could. I was having trouble getting in touch with them for two days and I have called RA Dental twice now about it; the first time was yesterday and the lady I spoke to told me she would text the people I was trying to get ahold of and they would call me right away. The second time I was cut off as I was trying to explain everything and then given attitude when she tried to give me the same number I had been calling and I explained I already had that number (I think her name was Julia). The unprofessionalism is ridiculouthe actual work they've done as dentists, I have no complaints with, but I personally think they could do a lot better with how patients are treated. Update: 8/30/2018 Just received a call that my insurance would not cover the procedure recommended due to being maxed out by the procedure I had to go to a specialist about (that was started by this office and they put the crown on afterwards, so they knew it had been done.) I had even paid what was remaining after insurance to the specialist before coming back in, so obviously my insurance already had this information, it wasn't waiting to process. When I asked why I was told my insurance would pay it if it was already maxed out, she tried to give me the run around saying that it must not have posted yet...no I had already paid what was remaining. The fact of the matter is they did not call, they checked online (she claims that the website is on real time, but I have worked with medical insurance claims...you always check with an actual person with these things). So now I ask for the original price I was given when they thought I didn't have insurance (even though I had been here before with insurance and had even sent them the New Years updated info) and she claims she doesn't know anything about it. Absolutely ridiculous. ***2/27/2019*** Got a bill in the mail claiming I owed them another $1000+ that is over 90 days late. I paid everything I was told to pay at the time of procedure. This place is bullshit. My teeth that they crowned hurt more now than they did when I went in. Please just stay away from this business. read more

Dr. Asemota and her assistants are very patient and comforting during procedures. They open on weekends which is a plus. First appointments can be lengthy because of the online papework so I would suggest coming a little early. Overall, I had a good experience and will be returning. read more

Great Same Day Emergency Service with a bunch of smiles ! I had a crown fall out on a Fri. night and heading out of town for my Birthday on Sunday... #12 tooth in front so it shows. I left a message Friday evening and got a call back from the DR. to be there at 7:45 to be the 1st appt of the day. I was out by around 9:00 with doing all the paperwork, check in, xrays and all. I went there they said I needed a deep cleaning for aprox. $1200plus! I wanted the basic cleaning for free! I agreed to get the deep cleaning. They said it would be $236 for each four sections! I paid $236 for the first section. They sent a bill to the insurance company for $600 on top of the $236 I had already paid them! She was in my month cleaning for about 10 mnutes! When I called the insurance company and told them she did only 1 part of the 4 sections she told me they billed for half my mouth which meant 2 sections! They even told me the x-rays were free and billed me for the x-rays too! After that I will never go back!!! Don't let them know you have insurance because they will try to take every last penny! They billed my insurance for work they didn't do!!! read more

One of the few dentists open on Saturday and in this case needed cosmetic work done asap (total emergency). Booked apt on zocdoc even though no prior experience with their practice. Excellent bedside manner. Caring and thorough. Her asst helped me tremendously by doing some quick cosmetic repair on a temp crown that was made incorrectly by the dentist in Duluth that I had paid to do my prostho work. Dr. Akbar is sweet, caring and gentle in her bedside style. She explains procedures throughly, helps you understand and willing to show you her reasoning by utilizing up to date technology (digital imaging). read more
