The store was somewhat busy when I went on a Sunday afternoon (about 6-7 people which I thought was a lot for a small-ish suit store in Framingham) but the employees were walking around to make sure everyone was being helped. The employees showed me which suits were on sale and which were on clearance and gave advice and suggestions when asked. I was sure I wouldn't buy anything but I walked out of there with two new suits which will be tailored to my specific size later this week. Overall, it was a good experience. I assume the suits are good quality (how can anyone really know) but with 70% off they were worth the investment. Now, you probably won't find any super slick snazzy suits here but you can definitely find some good go to pieces. Enough to get me into the store, which was their goal. The discount was for something like a flat amount off the total purchase, or maybe a percentage discount. Don't really remember but you get my drift I hope. After trying on a handful of shoes, I found three or four pairs that I was happy with and wanted to buy. I brought them to the front of the store, which was being staffed by a guy i had been chatting with my whole time there. He was very personable and friendly. Good guy. He rang up my order and went to use my coupon. Ladies and gentlemen, this is when the malarkey started to happen. I had naïvely assumed I would just be able to use the coupon on any shoes in the store. How stupid of me! DXL is a corporation, of course they'll be operating with predatory practices. There was more fine print on that stupid coupon than a contract with the devil. Not ONE of the shoes that I wanted to buy were eligible to be used under that coupon. After reading it, I realized that I had got sent a coupon for a discount for shoes in which probably half the stores inventory did not qualify for. My session went a bit longer than the allotted hour, as Mike tried multiple alternative combinations of shafts and heads to hone in on the best set for my particular situation - even when he had already engineered a good result. We examined both distance, height of shot and dispersion on less than ideal swings. Fitting off a mat into a simulator is always a challenge and never really accurate in measuring real distance, so we added sample hits with my current clubs to at least show a comparison of results. I felt comfortable enough with the results to purchase the clubs. And Mike also reassured me that PXG would follow through with adjustments and tweaks if the performance suggested a need. Have not received the irons and wedges yet - will update when I have received them and played a few rounds.

Let me say that during the swing session, I was more satisfied with how Brian was as a fitter than how PXG clubs felt. Granted, I am rather new, so I have not swung many clubs, but PXG clubs themselves felt better than my almost 10 yr old hand me down TaylorMade RSi2s, but Brian's insights into club fitting and how to improve my swing left me feeling amazed. And he stayed quite late (I didn't know time could fly by so fast), way past the initial scheduled time to help me figure out what would work for me. did end up purchasing iron set and some woods/hybrids, and I am ecstatic to try them out. Being completely honest, as I mentioned before, I didn't feel (probably because I am not at a skill level where I am consistent enough to notice it quite yet) a HUGE difference in the PXG clubs vs the ones I was using.
