She made us feel safe and comfortable from the very beginning, and gave clear instructions so we always knew what to do. She tailored our ride to how "spicy" we wanted to make it, so since it was our first time rafting, that made us feel great. The trip was the perfect level of excitement for us as beginners. It was fun, thrilling, and adventurous without ever feeling overwhelming. My sons, ages 10 and 13, had an absolute blast and want to plan another trip back. We even got to see a bald eagle along the river, it was phenomenal. The weather was perfect, and the whole experience was incredibly well organized. It's also just under two hours from Denver, making it a great day trip. We really appreciated the free parking, and they kept our car keys safely in the office while we were out on the river. We felt completely comfortable leaving everything else locked in our car. We couldn't have asked for a better first rafting experience. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone, especially families and first-time rafters. Definitely opt for the photo package too - the pictures we received were stunning and memorable. My last full day visiting the Denver area and I was looking to something kind of quick to do. I…read morethought this museum would fit the bill, so I came! The best part is that it has FREE Admission!! I parked out in the lot just off E. Alameda Pkwy near the front of the Aurora Municipal Center. I was kind of stumped as to where to enter the museum. I walked past the cool sculpture called "Light Of Dawn" by Rafe Ropek. If you keep walking on that sidewalk, you will find the entrance is at the far end of the building right near the gate/fence. I really wanted to see the 1913 Street Car Trolley! It is in a room all by itself. It has been immaculately restored! I like the vintage ads inside! There's lots of information about transportation, too! You can learn how Aurora started out and grew! There was a Buckingham Square Mall that opened in 1971. It had two Palace Guard mascots named Buck and Ham. It was demolished in 2007. It was rebuilt into what is now Gardens On Havana shopping center. I was fascinated to learn that there in a Mission Viejo neighborhood in Aurora. It was modeled after the Mission Viejo in Orange County, CA! In the exhibit of "Growing Home Aurora", there's an extensive collection of memorabilia! I found out that Niagara Bottling, LLC has a plant in Aurora! I wandered through the "Mosaic of Cultures: Aurora's Mexican Community" area. For history's sake, I should have eaten at La Cueva. It is featured in this area. The founders of the restaurant immigrated to the U.S. in the 1950's. There's an exhibit called "Tatanka: The Spirit of the Land" that has lots of beautiful Bison paintings by Arturo Garcia. On my way out, I picked up A Guide to Aurora, too! It lists landmarks and historic sites with pictures. It was great to learn about Aurora!

The museum is free and there's a lot thats being discussed to increase visibility. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. They have such a diverse knowledge about the history of Aurora and some of Colorado so feel free to ask questions. I learned a lot about Aurora. It gets such a bad rep and is most well known for tragedies. I never knew there was such history about this city. The hit of the museum and a must see is the trolley. I wish Denver had kept the trolley running so it made it special like in San Francisco. What a wonderful piece of Colorado history at the museum. You can also walk and sit in the trolley as well. Happy 4th of July (2022)!! There's plenty of parking out front at Springhill Park. One spot is reserved for the Combat Wounded visitor. There's also a restroom at the far end of the parking lot where the entrance is. Not too far, but far enough away from there is a picnic area. As I got out of the car, I first noticed the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument. It consists of four pieces and between two pieces is a soldier saluting in the negative space. It is so cool! Civilians tend to forget that there are families surrounding the fallen soldiers who have to carry on without their loved ones. It's so fitting that this memorial also includes them. Then I surveyed the rest of the memorial and was awestruck. The glass wall with so many names etched on it. There are about 6,000 who've been killed in action since Colorado became a state! The last panel is facing a different direction and on that panel are the names of those Missing In Action. The slanted glass panels are quite striking. There's a narrow channel of water in front. From what I read online, the glass is to represent the Rocky Mountains. This memorial is specifically to honor those Coloradans who gave their lives. On site, there is a box with a binder with all the names (in alphabetical order) and the location where you can find them on the glass wall. There are flags from each branch of the US Military are flying on the flag poles! Since July 4th is almost here, there are American flags lining the walkway. To the left, in reddish stone, maybe marble or granite, are 8 columns. Each one has the name of a country where soldiers were lost and laid to rest... Belgium, England, France, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, The Philippines, and Tunisia. Some soil was taken from various soldiers' gravesites there and brought here. Thus the words "From Hallowed Ground To Home's Embrace". I appreciate the attention to detail and planning that went into creating this special place. Come take a moment to visit with gratitude for their sacrifice for our freedom because they were so brave.

The price was excellent for a three-hour tour. We were originally scheduled for a tour a few days later but rain was in the forecast so Tom let me and my husband switch to an earlier day. It was almost 100° out the day we had our tour, so we appreciated the frequent stops to make sure we were drinking enough water and staying hydrated. He brought a ton of water for each of us and was constantly asking if we needed more water. He also brought sunscreen. With all of our frequent stops our tour ran almost an hour late. That wasn't a problem because we didn't have anything else scheduled afterward, but we were starving because our tour started at 10:00 and ended at 2:00. I would rather have started the tour at 9:00 instead so we could have finished earlier. But I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the Denver area. It really helped us to get to know the city better and find our way around.

Other lowlights were listening to the guide drone on and on about his life and opinions, pulling over THREE times as one lady thought she maybe saw some wildlife waaaayyy in the distant woods, and spending much too long in a small town where half the stores were closed so the gondola opters could have their unscheduled fun and the tour company could grab a few extra dollars.

We made several stops along the way, and every single one had amazing views. We even got to see some wildlife: bighorn rams, elk, and a fox! Aaron was great about pulling over so everyone could grab photos whenever we spotted something cool. There were about 11 of us in total, which made it feel like a nice small group instead of a big crowded tour. It was our first time exploring the Rocky Mountains, and we're so glad we chose Aspire Tours. I would definitely recommend them...and don't forget to tip your guide.
