We went here for our anniversary meal and the food and service were both very good. The appetizer was amazing! I would get back just to get that again as it was so unique and we really enjoyed it. The filet was extremely tender and perfectly cooked. The green beans were fresh with the perfect snap. My husband very much enjoyed the lobster spaghetti and said it was full of flavor. It's crowded, I mean packed on a Tuesday night during the shoulder season. So it has its appeal. Nolan was our server, he was excellent. Our burgers were ordinary, greasy, but satisfying. Fries were excellent. We ordered green beans that came out undercooked and didn't have much garlic flavor. The decor is beautiful. Why only 3 stars? Because the prices are ridiculously high for what you get. A burger shouldn't be well over $20 unless it's outstanding. Burger dinner for 4, only one beer ordered, and only 2 mediocre additional sides (cream corn and green beans) was $140 before tip Hop & Grind is way better and less than half the price. Happy that Buckley's Burgers & Steaks has opened in Hampton. Occupying the former CR Spark's space, the dining room remains attractive and comfortable. We found the staff to be friendly and service was attentive and efficient. The menu leans heavy with comfort food, generous portions and at fair prices (by todays standards). Cocktails were great and everybody in our party was pleased with drinks, appetizers, mains and dessert. Speaking of comfort food, I'm a big fan of meatloaf. They serve it here wrapped in bacon along with a side of delicious mac and cheese and simple steamed broccoli. The portion was large enough for my dinner, and then two more lunch portions. The fish and chips were also great and a generous portion. The fries were perfectly done. It seems this restaurant has hit the ground running, seems busy all the time, and I suggest you make a reservation. For those familiar with Buckley's Steaks in Merrimack NH, this is similar but a tad more casual. I feel this is a great dining option for Hampton. read more

Formerly CR's, Buckley's Burgers & Steaks opened recently under new ownership. The former owner who also owned CR Sparks in Bedford many years ago has sold CR's in Hampton to the Michael Timothy Dining Group which owns several restaurants and cafes in Southern NH and MA. This restaurant and bar is conveniently located off NH 101 Exit 13 close to I-95 (Exit 2). Like before, the atmosphere is similar to CR's which has a full service bar with seating & TVs and high top table seating to the right and the dining area to the left has booths, table seating and the stone fireplace with the deer heads above and on the back wall. There is also a semi private dining area too. The overhead lighting is also the same as before. I stopped by Buckley's Burgers & Steaks on a Friday night. The place was very busy with every seat at the bar occupied and dining room close to full. I checked in and was seated at a high top table at the far end of the bar area next to a big window and given food and drink menus. The food menu offers a selection of small plates, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, fish & chips, chicken, ribs, beef stroganoff, mac & cheese, and housemade desserts. The bar has beer including 6 beers on draft, wine list, mixed drinks and cocktails. The server arrived shortly after being seated and brought over chilled water with glass and pitcher for the table. For a starter, the Bang Bang Steak Tips ($19 plus tax) served on a small plate with fried broccoli, crispy tender steak tips, red pepper, orange sesame glaze, scallions, sesame seeds. The flavors were very sweet, and slightly savory. One piece was very chewy. For an entree, the Fried Chicken BLT Sandwich ($17 plus tax) had a crispy fried chicken cutlet, tomato, lettuce, cherrywood smoked bacon on a soft sesame seed bun, served with fries, ketchup and mayo on the side. The golden fries were very hot and seasoned nicely, excellent. The crispy chicken sandwich with the thick strips of bacon and garnishes was a pretty good sandwich. I did get a box for some of the food. For dessert, the White Chocolate Creme Brulee ($11 plus tax) was comprised of a cool creamy white chocolate custard, caramelized onions top with a chocolate garnish on top. This creme brulee was good. After I was done, the check was presented which was $51 with tax and before tip. Overall, this Buckley's experience was pretty good. I was seated promptly despite being very busy with a moderate noise level. I've enjoyed great dinners at some of the other MT restaurants like Buckley's Great Steaks (Merrimack) and Surf (Nashua location). I would come back here for another dinner. read more

Buckley's is a welcome addition to Hampton and I look forward to them tweaking and settling into our community. I made reservations for 4:30pm (fitting an early dinner in with my son) and were warmly welcomed. The bar was already full, tables were starting to fill as well and lots of upbeat conversations going on making the ambience really lovely. We were seated in the far back of the restaurant where, unfortunately, there wasn't any music piped in, and where there seemed to be an 'early bird' population vibe. When I asked if it was possible to be moved into the mid-section of the restaurant we were definitely accommodated, but in hindsight I wonder why we were seated where we were originally. Note: When making reservations know that there's definitely a more communal seating area vs back of house. The food was lovely. Buttermilk pan fried chicken and a 12 oz filet, both with yummy mashed potatoes were perfect. The waitstaff were attentive without being overly so and were very good at taking the cue as to how chatty - or not- to be. Overall, definitely worth a visit. The burgers looked fantastic (2 4oz burgers per burger) and the crowd was a really fun mix. Thanks, Peter, for coming over and spending time with us. It was perfectly cooked medium well just how I like it little bit of pink on the inside, it was served with garlic mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was a little bit dry but OK. On Saturday, March 7th my wife and I took her 88 year old mom to the Buckley's Burger's & Steaks for an early dinner because my mother in law lives across the street in an assisted living facility and it is close. My wife made a reservation for the three of us for 4:15pm a week before and in making the reservation my wife told the restaurant that her mom was 88 years old, disabled with a walking disability and uses a walker with wheels on it to move around. My wife asked if, because of her disability could we get a booth or table near the restaurant entrance so that her mom would not have to walk far given her walking disability. She was told that the request would be noted in the reservation. As we approached the restaurant in our vehicle, I pulled up front and let them out to go into the restaurant and get their table and I drove around parked our car in a handicap spot. Upon entering the restaurant I didn't see either my wife or my mother in law and I asked the hostess if she saw them. She told me that they were being seated and when I saw them, they were being seated NOT close to the front door OR in a booth but in the very LAST table in the restaurant, the furthest table from the front door in the restaurant, at the back of the restaurant. I was not happy and I went to ask my wife why they didn't get a closer table and she was told that there were not any booths or tables available yet as I walked to their location at the back of the restaurant, I walked past two booths and a table that were unoccupied. I walked back to the hostess stand and asked why they were put in the VERY LAST table in the restaurant when the reservation was clear that my 88 year old mother in law was handicapped, disabled and used a walker to get around. The hostess at first denied that a reservation had been made but when her seater pointed to the screen and said that indeed a reservation was made it was like her mind blew a breaker switch and she was completely overloaded with information. Moreover, when I pointed to an open table and open booth that were obviously unoccupied, she told her seater to move my wife and her mother to the booth. I went back to where they were and by this time they had already been seated at the table that was in the back of the restaurant. When I told my wife and mom in law about the now open booth, my mom in law said forget it, and she wasn't now going to move because she was already out of breath from walking to the very back of the restaurant was out of the question. Ok I said to the seater I guess we are staying there. I mean come on...how does a hostess justify in her mind that it is ok to put an 88 year old disabled woman using a walker in the VERY LAST table in the restaurant, especially since a reservation had been made asking for a table that was close or at least near the entrance to the restaurant?? How does the hostess say to herself yes, make that woman walk to the very last table in the restaurant? She could not have been put in a worse seat!! Writing sarcastically, I don't know if BB&B violated any portions of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) but they certainly did not live by the spirit of it!! Shameful. I also must note that where we were seated smelled musty, stale like the area needs a good cleaning and washing. The food...well, it's a burger place but one cannot get a medium rare or even rare burger because they just don't cook them that way I was told. Only smash burgers!! Come on Man!! Having been in the restaurant business many years ago, THAT tells me that they don't trust their hamburg provider OR they don't want to make their own in house burgers!! You have the name, BURGER in your business title but no medium rare burger? Again, Come on, Man. So I ordered the ribs which I will give them a 7.5. Anyway, I have written enough, just telling the story about how they treated an 88 year old lady should be enough, but no medium rare burgers...that in my opinion is note worthy. We had been looking forward to our visit to this steakhouse for a while, so it is truly unfortunate that the experience left us feeling let down in almost every way. From the moment we arrived, the service fell short of expectations. Our server was inattentive. The overall attention to detail that one expects from a restaurant at this price point was simply not there. As for the food, while the presentation was far from decent, the quality did not come close to justifying the prices on the menu. The steaks were inconsistently cooked and lacked the depth of flavor we were hoping for. For what we paid, we expected a memorable meal -- instead, it felt like an ordinary dinner dressed up with an upscale price tag. We left the restaurant feeling like our money and our time had not been well spent. We hate leaving negative reviews, but we believe other diners deserve to know what to expect. Went for a birthday. Wife ordered the filet and every bite was delicious. I had the beef stroganoff and the portion size all the large, got completely eaten right down to the last tiny morsel. Not inexpensive but worth every bite. Service was excellent from the moment we walked in the ambiance was very nice since the place had only been recently remodeled and opened about a month when we went. The only unfortunate part was we sat at a seat that was kind of right in front of the front door and it was a cold night so every time the door opened they got a little chilly. Would have been nicer to sit in the main room. Very nice fires in the fireplaces though. All in all will definitely be going back. read more

Disappointing considering they are the newest chapter of Buckley's - known for their meat. No complimentary rolls or bread and no salad included with the filet, which did come with chive mashed, green beans, and Demi glacé. $48. Just the bare minimum. I would have liked a choice of potato and veg. Husband's $19 cheeseburger was good but instead of one perfectly cooked medium rare burger, which is what he prefers, they offer a trendy two patty smash burger version and they will only cook it medium. Also the plates were melamine with a rim on them - kind of school cafeteria style? I get it that it's casual with emphasis on burgers, but the prices are top tier. As a patron I felt kind of "rashioned" with the size and quality I did get and limited in choice since there no other options for sides. I do want to emphasize, however, that staff worked hard to be hospitable. We wanted a nicer experience, but for now, newly opened, it was meh. read more
