Ordered Po Boy shrimp sandwich which is one of my repeat choices. Th roll was so hard I couldn't even bite into it ,even tried cutting with a steak knife..My guess on how the roll could get that hard is perhaps they micro waved the roll to soften and when it cooled it got hard. Realy hard.Told the waiter he said sorry well deduct some of the cost.. I stupidly agreed and only ate the shrimp.. He deducted $3. From the check. ...lesson learned ! send it back next time..no manager came to check and no real concern from waiter..I'll not go back I don't like being put in such an awkward position..no excuse for serving that stale roll. read more

I meet a friend for lunch periodically midway between Waltham, MA and Portland, ME. She found this lovely farmstand-with-a-restaurant. The dining room is off the grocery store portion of the facility, but quite pleasant. A casual vibe, with a fireplace near where we were sitting which was perfect on the rainy day we visited. The server was prompt, courteous and helpful. We were seduced by the drink of the day, a $10 Mai Tai, which did not disappoint. I had a corned beef hash Reuben with fries, and she had a grilled cheese sandwich. We each were well satisfied with our choices. I love a good Reuben and was curious as to how has instead of sliced corned beef would do, and it did just fine, the sandwich perfectly toasted and not so much stuff in the sandwich that it was hard to eat. Of course it was too much for one sitting so I brought mine home and the sandwich did not suffer for an oven re-heat the next day. After lunch we wandered through the grocery store and I brought home a cranberry apple scone that was perfect for breakfast the next day. read more

I really enjoyed dinner here. I got a brick oven pizza with pepperoni, which was fantastic -- great crust! Also had a great margarita. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the beautiful farmland. Service was super friendly. Can't even give it a star rating as we went there on a Sunday at 245pm as their Sunday hours said 9-3pm. We understand that we were there very close to closing time but the restaurant was closed. When asked about their Sunday hours they said they are open until 3pm on Sundays but were just closed. It is bad business practice to have hours posted and not be seating up through those hours. This is not the first time we have tried to visit this establishment to find that they were closed early despite the posted hours saying differently. read more

The food was fresh and delicious. We had fried oysters to start, these melted in your mouth and it was a large order. Next, I had the baked haddock with risotto. This portion was big enough for 2 meals. The fish was so nicely done and the risotto was cooked very nicely it was served with grilled broccolini. My husband had the mushroom, pasta and shrimp dish. This too was absolutely filled with flavor. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The service was impeccable and efficient. The ambience is pleasant and cozy. We stopped for Sunday brunch which we did a few years ago when we were in the area. It is a bustling place with kids and adults for their harvest season. We were seated on the patio with a great view all the activities. Erin was our server and was great. Food was pretty good, but one order came out wrong. They fixed it immediately. You can sit inside with a rustic fire-placed setting or outside on their lighted slate patio. The food and service were both excellent. Such a cute place with great food! We happened upon this place while apple picking, and were pleasantly surprised- the food is delish, the menu has a lot of great options, and there's outdoor seating overlooking the orchard. My favorite was the pulled pork sandwich and the apple cider sangria, perfect for a seasonal lunch! The harvest pizza and the meatloaf sandwich were also pretty great. We came in for lunch on a weekend and there was no wait. My only complaint was how cold it was inside, I kept my coat on while eating to stay warm. What a nice surprise! We like to try new places every time we go out. We chose this abs were not disappointed! The salads were great, fresh with interesting ingredients. Asparagus Caesar and a delicata squash salad. Then onto the arancini special and the Brussels which were delicious. Lastly we had soft tacos. Also super fresh and yummy. Everything was extremely reasonably priced, staff was great, place was clean and inviting. Highly recommended!!! read more

We were treated to an amazing tuna dish prepared family style for this lively crew earlier this week. Jeff is a really gifted chef. The flavors and presentation were creative and delicious. A nice light touch with a delicate fish. Cathy and the entire staff made our evening special with their attentive and welcoming service. We always try the restaurant here because we like the farm setting, and once upon a time, it was a great brunch spot. The staff is friendly and service is fine. Sitting by the fire is nice, but then you're listening to a Verizon Wireless commercial. A $5 "latte" in reality is burned tasting coffee in a tiny cup. The $15 Greek yogurt parfait is two tablespoons of yoghurt sprinkled with granola with overripe banana and berries. The everything bagel is dry and tasteless, especially since it's grilled instead of toasted. After paying $50 for this, I'm afraid we're going to have to move on. read more

we used to dine at applecrest restaurant frequently back in the day.. then they closed and reopened with the promise that the food was going to get better... Sadly our recent visit proved otherwise... As good as the market is the restaurant is equally as poor!.. it starts with the hostess (a middle aged woman)at the front who is anything but hospitable ..doesnt say hello just takes you to your table, dumps you off and when you say thank you she doesn't respond you're welcome.ever..it was shocking she is the greeter when she does nothing to make one feel greeted... there is only one waitress doing everything and so service is very slow and all this would be fine if the food was actually good... But it was very poor.. the menu is limited and what they do have tastes more like something you would get at the local Chuck E. Cheese... Neither one of us finished our food..both of us decided we would never come back again because this place has gone from bad to worse.. which is a real shame because it's a beautiful view and we had high hopes..time to close again! read more

Third time there for dinner on the patio and third time disappointment to see our favorite band play. Twenty minutes from receiving a menu to a server finally showing up for our drink order. Chicken tenders were over-cooked to a hard, coating blackened in spots. Haddock sandwich was a thin piece of fish surrounded in a too thick spongy batter reminding me of a really really bad Chinese chicken finger. Left most of the meal after a few bites. We came today for Applecrest farms (fall festivities) and planned on eating at Orchard Grille as it looked like a nice little restaurant. There were lots of empty picnic benches in the back and being our first time, we thought it was a "seat yourself" place. The hostess/waitress stormed over to us and told us in a rather harsh tone "You cannot sit here, it is for customers only!". We informed her that we were here to eat. She then proceeded to say "It is reservation only, you will need to make a reservation"! We apologized saying that we did not know this as it was our first time eating at Orchard Grille and would be happy to make a reservation. We asked when her next available time would be and again very rudely said "It won't be for awhile, I have a party of 14 on the way". She took down our name and number (never asking how many were in our party) and said she would call when a table was available. We never received that call. Not a good first impression at all. Even if it were a 4 star restaurant, the customer service was beyond salvageable for our return. Never ate there, never will. read more

Had brunch there today. Disappointed. No salads or vegetable options on the menu - not one. If you are a vegetarian or a low-carb person you won't find much to eat. My wife had a chicken sandwich that came with breakfast-style potatoes that had a strange and off-putting flavor. She couldn't eat them. Some type of seasoning overdone? Very Disappointed. My friends and I were so excited for a fun fall girls day at the Orchard Grille and planned around our 2:15 reservation. We arrived to a MESS. When I told the host that our party was here he looked at me and said that he wouldn't be able to seat us because they were almost completely out of food and that all of the servers except one had left because they weren't expecting to be as busy as they were. Made our first visit to the Orchard Grill on a breezy, lovely Friday evening. If you're looking for a beautiful setting this is the spot - it's gorgeous, and serene, and just perfect. Unfortunately that is the only part of the experience that was outstanding. We began sharing three small plates / appetizers; meatballs which were okay, grilled brussel sprouts which were burned, and stuffed mushrooms that had this cloying indescribable sauce that covered the taste of the mushrooms and whatever they were stuffed with. Entrees included mediocre salads, although the grilled shrimp on top was tasty, two variety of burgers which were okay, and a shrimp po boy sandwich which was the standout of all the mediocre dishes. The young lady that was serving us was very sweet, kind and helpful. However, while most of the party was sitting there with plates have full and enjoying conversation, we were asked if we were ready for the check. Let's chalk it up to inexperience. All and all, I'll go back, if it were just for the scenery and I feel like I owe them another shot with the food. Their lack of urgency, respect and customer service is appalling. I have been trying since 9/27 to get funds back that I was overcharged. My friend was also overcharged, same appalling experience. I have been told on multiple occasions, they have to look into it, they are too busy to deal at the moment, etc. Owners and managers refuse to even get on the phone with me. Finally when I called today, understandably upset (and I did apologize to the poor girl on the receiving end). I told them they have stolen from me and that I might come down in person and bring a police officer with me to get this straightened out. A gentleman came on the line and told me to go ahead and bring the police and then actually hung up on me. The lack of respect shown to me and my friend as paying customers show the lack of respect they have for their own establishment. I was excited to try this because I love apple crest but the service was not good, the wait time for food and drinks was extremely long, and the food either lacked flavor or was too salty. The menus were dirty, as were the tables around me. During a pandemic, the menus should be cleaned and sanitized in my opinion.
