We went as a group of 6 on a beautiful day to sit outside, and that's what we did. The outdoor area is a work in progress, but I'm sure it will improve. Our server, Savanna, was attentive, friendly and competent. The drinks came in an appropriate amount of time as did the food order. Our table had cheeseburger clubs, a ruben, Chicken parmesan, a chicken sandwich and an order I don't remember. We all were quite satisfied with what we had and I'm looking forward to going back. Oysters 4, clam chowder 1. First, the oysters were great- very fresh and velvety. Considering that's why I came here, I'm holding back on giving 2 stars. It takes a lot for me to write something uncharitable given the pandemic but, I'm going to be honest here in case it helps others avoid the experience I had: the clam chowder (which was actually on the specials menu, at that!) was horrendous. It might be an understatement to say that it's one of the worst things I've ever put in my mouth in my lifetime. Thankfully, it was not the most pricey part of the meal. It tasted like scorched evaporated milk diluted with some water. If you're expecting creamy, salty, fatty- it's not it. But neither is it the Manhattan type. My wife and I have been talking about trying Bogie's for quite a while now but we made the mistake of wasting a Valentine's Night dinner to try them out. They were evidently short staffed, had a new person waiting tables, and were surprised at the Valentine's Day rush but neither of us thought that they looked particularly busy. The staff was friendly enough but not attentive at all and the food was not very good. The Buffalo Shrimp was just ok, but my Key West Scampi was bland and cold when it finally arrived. My salad and vegetable never showed up but by the time I was able to say anything, I was no longer interested. My wife's burger was not any better, with a greasy bun and soggy, cold fries. Her pickle looked discolored and ill, as did the lime in my seltzer. As we were sitting with our coats on, waiting to get the check, Ann apologized for our wait. When I explained that the food wasn't good and that some of it was missing, she told us that she wished we had said something and explained how busy/understaffed they were. Unfortunately, we never had the chance to say anything and nobody ever asked how the food was or how we were doing. Offering to give us a free appetizer if we came back didn't help matters any. I paid the full bill and left a 15% tip but I didn't feel good about it. I hate not tipping well and really want to support local restaurants but that was all I could bring myself to do. First time here and it was great. Bartender was super nice and easy to talk to but not overbearing. The place was really clean and updated. I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders and they were a little on the small side and not as fried as I usually like but they tasted great. Its located in a really cute shopping square next to an old railroad so there are cute shops around. Service was fast, I came on an hour lunch and was served super quick. read more

My wife and I drove past this place every time we went to the beach. We stopped in for a drink and apps and ended up staying for a full dinner. Food was great. Waitress was awesome. You can tell the place is full of regulars, which is a good sign. What a hidden gem. This place is outstanding. We walked in and made ourselves comfortable at the bar. Our new friend Kentucky Rose was as pleasant and fun as you could hope for . We had a great light and fun conversation. She gave us her personal menu favorites and some great drink selections. They have two sides bar side and restaurant side. Both well decorated and super clean. The menu I wish I took a picture of it was an old family portrait. I love the family touches in this establishment. I ordered the peppercorn steak tip in a bread bowl. Honestly it completely blew my mind. I was with every bite seriously melt in your mouth delicious. Honest home style cooking with a flair. Owner and chef Hugh came out and introduced himself and followed up on our meals. He is just a great guy,sincere and a magician in the kitchen. This place is so impressive and an amazing value. They have a mailing list with all kinds specials. It's definitely a place that is a neighborhood restaurant without the townie feel. The staff here is so awesome! Sports bar and restaurant in the same building but separated. Great prices on all the food. I ordered the clam chowder 4$ and hamburger 8$ which came with a side of fries. My daughter ordered oysters and shrimp. The only complaints I had were 1. No condiments on my burger and 2. The oysters on the half shell were frozen. It was like biting into ice. 10$ for 6 but oh well. The service made it a pleasant experience read more

I really shouldn't be reviewing and I do apologize... But let me start by saying I love the bar. There were some small changes from the previous restaurant. The atmosphere and the people are so nice. There's a lot of bar food and heavier types of food which really isn't my thing. For example I ordered the salmon. Which wasn't great. But my husband got a burger (I think) and loved it. If you're looking for a great bar with a more upscale feel with good bar food then you should absolutely give them a try! read more

Well the lovely young ladies that worked here really did a nice job of serving us so rating gets a two because of their lovely work. As I have stated before I AM A FOOD SNOB! Today's meal included dozen fresh oysters on the half shell, clam chowder, crab cake and steamers. The oysters were devine all on their own. Sweet, fresh, the clean brine of crystal blue seawater on a half shell. The cocktail sauce was like none other I ever had before or ever want again and the horse radish was nearing medium brown, dry and tasteless. The clam chowder was ok but not spectacular considering I'm in New England and these people taught the rest of the USA how to make this stuff! Clam meat was fresh and tender but not a ton of flavor in the soup. The crab cake was given some nonspecific undo hype on the menu, this was fake news! It was fresh crab meat, but the transformation from lump crab meat to crab cake went horribly wrong as if the chef is a cousin of the Frankenstein clan. The binding was a soupy runny pink mayo like product and it was served with a mayo based tarter. Nothing like doubling down went you have a 10 showing, resulting in and epic bust! Then steamers, well honestly I never has steamers before but when they came to the table they smelled like week old swamp mud that had baked in the sun till is was so rotten a it could scare of all wild life in a mile block. I have eaten twice my body weight in little necks in my life and never experienced such a stench! Should have gone with my initial thought when I saw an empty restaurant in a tourist town...KEEP DRIVING! read more

We stopped here today after reading all the great reviews from other Yelpers. A very nice clean establishment. My husband ordered the prime rib and crab cake. It was cooked perfectly. Generous portions! I ordered the chicken stuffed with crab. Even the sides were expertly prepared. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. I had all I could do not to lap my plate! There was not a crumb left on either of our plates. The bar has a lot of history. The owner was very nice and personable. We will definitely be coming back to Bogie's to try some of their other dishes. read more

Went on a whim after yelping restaurants in the area and was very happy! We got the crab cakes at the recommendation of the bar tender and they were packed full of crab and delicious. The oysters on a half shell were fresh and delicious as well. Annnnd do not get me started on the jalepano poppers with scratch made filling! These five stars are specifically for the crab cakes. Not that my burger wasn't delicious and cooked perfectly rare but OMG the crab cakes are as good as they are in Maryland - no BS. I typically don't order them unless I'm in Maryland because I'm always disappointed. However our spirited, friendly and honest bartender, convinced me to give them a try and my oh my, am I glad I did. We will definitely be going back to get the crab cakes but also to try other Maryland inspired dishes. Bogie's was great! The service was fantastic! We sat outside and it was a truly lovely experience. The food was very good. I've seen a few posts mentioning that the crab cakes are lump Maryland crab cakes. While the crab cake was good, it's not a Maryland crab cake. I was born and raised in Maryland. Maryland crab cakes don't have bell peppers in them and lump crab meat is back fin, as opposed to shredded crab meat. This is not a complaint, just an education from a Marylander. read more

What a wonderful gem tucked away in downtown Hampton, NH! Really! Everything is homemade; mixed vegetables were cut from full sized and fresh veggies.
