They are trying to play on my intelligence which is super frustrating because I notate everything and am 100% that this is what was discussed. It kinda seems they might be doing a cash grab from insurance since this is a MEDICAID office. Pushing extra things that a 2nd opinion probably would have dismissed. If you come here and get a checkup, make sure to ask for a print out and/or breakdown of what services are needed + mandatory for your own files.

I went to seek care at a highly regarded practice and basically announced I would need fillings to them and was seeking a new place to have these done. This new doctor noted there was a tooth to keep an eye on but no filling needed. Here in this review to say 5+ years later the teeth I had on Whitfield's calendar to get fillings, new doctor has still not needed to work on. My family saw the previous owner of this practice Dr Wylie for decades until he retired and this doctor took over. I decided to try. Immediately noticed in the small space they doubled the amount of patients they can see, very squished. Other patients are far too close and no confidentiality in appointments. Even when you're on time you need to wait a lot longer as they appeared to squeeze as many patients in as they could, in close time frames, so a lot of wait time between assistants and doctor. Whitfield did not meet my communication style. Tries to be "smooth", comes across arrogant and out of touch. Hard not to compare to the humble, compassionate demeanor of prior owner/doctor. Stark contrast. Its clearly all about money. Furthermore on my first visit with Whitfield he made reference to Dr Wylie's (old owners) work being less than. Even hypothetically if this was the case how unprofessional. It wasn't necessary communication.

Based on my experience, Jessica's conduct was dismissive, unprofessional, and directly contributed to delays in my care. Over the years I have had a few difficulties with dentists (from billing to just packing up and closing down with no notice) so I was a bit apprehensive about going to a new one however I knew I had some significant work to be done. I arrived to a warm and welcoming office with a great receptionist who easily looked up my insurance information since I had forgotten my card. Soon enough I was brought back and Dr. Manchester talked with me before hand to get an idea of what my concerns were and then she performed an in-depth (compared to what I had previously had) exam taking numerous pictures/x-rays. After My Initial exam I was scheduled to come back in on another day for a formal review of what the Dr. Manchester thought I needed and how we wanted to proceed. They were very mindful of cost, time and in general how well I was treated allowing me to feel at ease while scheduling the beginning of what will be a bit longer of a process than I would like - however all of my options were carefully explained to me so I could make the choices I wanted. My next visit was for the initial deep cleaning (they do one side per appointment) which went about as good as that sort of thing can go. The dental hygienist was very nice (as is everyone else seemingly) and thorough. What is an uncomfortable appointment was definitively made much nicer through her careful attention and friendly demeanor. Last but not least I would like to say that about a week after by cleaning I received a hand written note thanking me from the hygienist and it is those little details which separate Renton Smile Dentistry from the rest.

First they x-rayed the wrong tooth and were saying it was that one. After I pointed this out, the x-rayed the correct tooth which was right under the inflammation They diagnosed an infection and recommended an extraction after all the inflammation was gone. I took a week's worth of antibiotics that they prescribed and still had mild swelling so I asked for more antibiotics. They stated that they could now do the infection even with the inflammation and then give me more antibiotics. The scheduling was a fiasco, partly my fault, partly theirs. Finally get and appointment and they call back saying I would have to pay the total for the extraction that day (a week before the appointment). I said I was happy to pay when I came in for the appointment before any work was done. I said I was happy to make a deposit, but was uncomfortable paying in full that early. They canceled my appointment! I've never heard of paying a week before dental or doctor treatment. I'll just find someone else to do the more expensive worked they got too greedy and lost $650 while making $75

When I moved to Renton I was on a search for a dental office that was close to home and had convenient hours. Dr. Im's Office is where I landed and am glad I did. The staff are very courteous and were very welcoming. The incentives for choosing this office are also a welcome reward. From Julie at the front desk answering my questions about my insurance coverage, to Inna who was really kind and made an uncomfortable X-ray session turn into an entertaining one, to the thorough clean that I got from Dr. Im.
