I've been taking a lot of yoga classes recently, so this has been one on my list to try. I came here for the Vinyasa yoga one morning. It was a decent class, but there was a lot of talking throughout, so I personally didn't find it that relaxing. I'm also new to yoga in general, but the instructor didn't help me at all when I had the wrong form or I didn't understand a term. Twice I have tried to come in for an intro session and twice it has been cancelled. The first time there was no cancellation notice and me and another girl stood outside waiting outside of the locked studio and when I texted the owners number later on, she said she mistook me for another intro client and texted the wrong number which, as a business owner, is a terrible excuse.. This time, I walked up 10 minutes early to an older lady waiting outside of a locked door who greeted me by saying "I don't think there's a class today, I've been waiting for a while" I had double checked their instagram maybe an hour earlier to them saying there would be a class that day so again, no cancellation warning/ notice/ text, anything. I'm not even going to bother texting the owner again. It's a shame because I'd heard good things about this place and a couple people wanted to know how the classes here would be and these two experiences are all I have to share with them. Will be looking for another studio that has more courtesy (or maybe subs if a teacher has to cancel) because twice I have wasted my time showing up to a locked studio. read more

This review is for the goat yoga experience here. I was always curious about goat yoga but only saw places all the way out east that had it, until I stumbled upon Buddha Barn which is so closeby to my house! With covid regulations in place, goat yoga was outdoors in the concrete area to the side of the building, on a beautiful September evening. There were some decorations/greenery and tents if anyone preferred shade. Kelly the owner and yoga teacher was inspiring, clear in her yoga instructions, and made sure everyone social distanced and understood mask regulations. I took the name of this place quite literally thinking it was a real barn and figured the goats would live on premises, but Karen graciously shared her farm animals with us by bringing them from out east for the event- she brought about 5 goats and a special guest Muriel a very social sweet alpaca who easily became my favorite and was so soft!! The yoga class itself was about 45 minutes and very gentle- great for beginners but also still a good workout for those experienced. Do not expect your typical peaceful experience when you're lying on your mat and suddenly a goat is looming over you haha but they are just saying hello.. also Bellmore avenue was pretty loud with cars due to rush hour but Kelly made jokes about it which I appreciated. Kelly and Karen left time at the end (well, the beginning too if you arrived early!) for petting time, selfies, and photo ops with the animals which was smart since they know that's why most of the crowd came. Something to note for all goat yoga (not just this location)- but the goats drop little poops and pee throughout the class so be alert with your belongings (luckily it was visible where it was since it was on concrete).. but it was cleaned up quickly and considerately. They have a fenced section that you can keep your belongings (which I did luckily so they wouldn't nibble on my bag) but some people needed their phones by their sides during the class so.. proceed at your own risk! Lol. I hope to be back next season when more outdoor events take place..I know some friends that are already interested in joining me. Thanks Kelly and Karen for a unique experience! :) read more

I've gone to a number of sessions at Buddha Barn now, and after each I feel so relaxed, calm, and refreshed. Their 6:15 class Monday- Move and Meditate is my favorite. Each class the instructor asks if there's anything in particular we want to work on and they will cater the poses and stretches to help you with that- for me, I carry my stress in my neck and shoulders, and after one particularly stressful week I was in rough shape. Kelly, the owner, has created a warm and welcoming studio for people of all ages and fitness levels. The studio space itself is really beautiful and has great vibes. As an instructor, Kelly really focuses on the spiritual side of yoga, not just the physical. The inclusive atmosphere makes everyone feel comfortable -- the focus is always on improving your own health (mental and physical) and not on superficial things such as doing instagram worthy yoga poses. I also really enjoy the barre classes and 30 minute express workout classes to get in some cardio and strength training in addition to the yoga. I recently went on Kelly's fall retreat which was an amazing opportunity to connect with a great group of people, connect with nature, get creative, and focus on inner peace. I will definitely book future retreats. Buddha Barn also offers fun workshops - couples yoga, watercolor and wine, reiki, essential oils, goat yoga, and more! There is something for everyone here. Kelly is the best. Her class is so relaxing and has such an amazing flow. She is extremely understanding of what your body needs and allows you to go at your own pace. She makes her own essential oils that she sprays in the room and also has mats to use for clients free of charge (They are super pretty too :)! ) read more

I was looking for a yoga class and a coworker recommended Kelly. I spoke to her on the phone for about 20 minutes and my wife and I decided to give it a try. That was December 2016 and I've been a regular weekly member since then. Kelly really care for her students and encourage them to try new things. I'm 56 and in the best shape I've been and owe it all to Kelly. My wife has decided to switch from yoga to personal training and loves it. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 and I'll explain why...Attended the goat yoga seeing it looked like a cool experience. Everything about the class was great. The goats were adorable, good people, teacher Kelly made for a good relaxing class. It was convenient that they offered mats if you didnt have ur own. It was really a great experience. The reason for not giving the extra star was because I found it uncomfortable that people that were taking the class had family members stay just standing there watching the whole class. One man was even videoing the class which I also found uncomfortable. I feel yoga is supposed to be a relaxing atmosphere and not knowing if I'm going to be posted on a strangers Facebook or Instagram doing the downward dog arse in the air type video was a little uneasy for me. I do understand people are curious to see what goes on in goat yoga..but then pay for the class and take it, Not stand around watching. That part was not to my liking. I was torn about writing this review because I think if you havent tried goat yoga u should. Maybe management made an exception that day..i did ask one of the employees why a man watching was videoing the whole class and she said it was someones husband and his wife was taking the class. If management does read this I'm hoping they will change their policy on letting family members stay to watch a whole class of strangers. That part was very uncomfortable...other then that the goat yoga aspect was adorable. read more

I started with Kelly 2 years ago by purchasing a Groupon. I had never taken a yoga class and was a bit intimidated. Kelly s class was the best!!!! The room is inviting and calming. Kelly made me feel so comfortable and was so encouraging without being pushy. 2 years later I still LOVE going and have made great improvements to my body and over health. If you've had a bad day.
