Was in San Antonio for a concert and decided to get my septum pierced. Showed up as a walk in and was seen in 15 minutes or so. My piercer (I don't remember his name) was very informative and just overall amazing. I told him I wanted to stretch my septum at some point so he gave me a bigger gauge. He put in a retainer so it would be easier to hide. He spent a good few minutes making sure it was perfectly straight Looking at it now compared to others I've seen it was so worth it my septum ring looks great. My wife had a mishap with her nose piercing that was done at a different shop near Dallas. Derek spent nearly an hour fixing the problem and educating us. At the end, he refused to charge us anything at all, despite him and his shop having not done the original piercing. Just the other day, my sister and I went in because she was going to pay for me to get my nostril pierced. There was a bit of a wait since I sat in the car easing my mind long enough for two people to go in ahead of me for piercings, but I did get in and the wait was nothing to complain about. The shop is clean and lovely, and it has a very comfortable vibe to it. Derek was my piercer, and he was definitely the best piercer I've ever had for any of my piercings. We joked about my fear of getting an industrial, and he talked me through every step. He was very clean and careful, and it didn't hurt at all! I would recommend getting work done here by anyone except Lupe. I made an appointment for a tattoo, showed him what I wanted and he wanted to adjust it a little bit and make it more spread out (because it may mush together apparently) and I was okay with that. (In his words "it will look like a turd in a few years) In the midst of all this, he explained that my tattoo was "a phase tattoo" and a "Pinterest tattoo" that "I would only like it for a few years" and that I'm "too young" (this tattoo was inspired by the tattoo my mom has, tons of meaning and though put into it) After he made the new drawing, I tried to explain to him that it wasn't exactly what I wanted (tattoos are lifelong and should be everything you want them to be, this is something every tattoo artist should understand), and I also explained how I would alter it. As I tried to explain all this, he (Lupe) walked away in the middle of my sentence. He went to his co-workers (instead of me) and told them he couldn't and wouldn't tattoo me, and that was the last I even talked to him because he pretty much ran away and hid after that. I was really upset, I had made an appointment in advance AND left an $80 deposit, also had family come into town for my first tattoo. After all this, I got lectured by another tattoo artist on how maybe it wasn't a good idea to get a tattoo at 18 (many people do this, I've been planning it for years and years, it has meaning, parents are on board etc...), they told me that people were going to look at me differently because I had planned for it to be on my forearm. They literally told me that men would touch me there and think it was okay, like what does that even mean??? I understand they may have been trying to warn me or something like that, but they made feel really uncomfortable with the things they said. I just felt so mistreated, a lot of 18 year olds get tattooed with no problem. I just don't think this is how ANYONE should be treated at a tattoo shop. It was a really bad experience, and I don't recommend getting tattooed with Lupe. read more
