B) Best Quality at the Best Price - The title of this bullet point speaks for itself. For an excellent cut, colorless, almost flawless diamond, I thought there was no way I could afford the ring that caught my eye. I was blown away when I was told the price. Elliott and I made the trip over to Diamonds Direct a couple of weeks ago to look at rings. Both of us were novices when it came to diamonds, other than what we gathered from our google searches. We had no clue what to expect. However, from the moment we entered through the two sets of doors at their location at La Cantera, we knew we were in good hands. Thankfully, we were set up with Art Drab. He helped make the process as fun and comfortable. He took us around the entire display taking his time to answer our questions and ask a list of his own. Truly, I had no idea what the heck I wanted, but after an hour of working with him, Elliott and I found our perfect ring! From the start he was aware of our budget, and helped us get the most bang for our buck. And he wasn't done there. He gave us a good lesson on all the ins and outs of picking the diamond. I was such a newb that I didn't think about having to pick a diamond. I just thought it was what fit the setting. Boy was I wrong. Again, more time was spent looking at diamonds. Elliott and Art ended up going to the computer and punching in some parameters to find the perfect one. Turns out that particular diamond was in Jacksonville, FL. This was on a Thursday evening. So Friday morning they put in the order and had the diamond delivered to SA Saturday morning. Diamonds Direct had us come back out on Saturday so we could look at the diamond and sign off on it. Once we did that, they placed an order for the ring. I don't think we ever imagined it being such a fun and memorable experience. With the help of Art, we went with a Sylvie Collection ring. I adore it so much. Only draw back was that I had to wait a couple of weeks for the ring to be made. But it was all worth it when I got my hands on it! I've bought my fiancé's engagement ring here and it was a good experience. For that reason we went back and took advantage of their 20% off promotion. That promotion sale was a pleasant experience. We ordered wedding bands for each of us and I ordered a 8mm band for myself. I wanted to be sure I got the 8mm band and so I verified with our seller that the 8mm band was ordered by email the next day. When we received the rings, it was nice because it was earlier than estimated. However, the band I got was actually 6mm. We didn't catch the mistake until I measured the band width with a caliper. The 6mm was nice looking but we paid for the 8mm. The only reason I caught the mistake was because it looked too small to my naked eye and I confirmed it with a caliper. So had I not caught it and addressed it with them, I would of lost out on the price difference between the 6mm and 8mm band, which based on the estimated MSRP would of been about $350. Im not sure who was responsible for the mixup but my advice to future customers is double check your orders and confirm you are getting what you order. read more

My fiancé and I had such a strange experience here. We live in Austin, but were in San Antonio one Saturday and decided to stop in as we are both looking for bands and have heard great things about DD. We walk in, get our names on a list and start browsing. It was about 40 mins before someone spoke to us and the only reason we waited to be called was because I found several bands I liked and was curious about prices. A salesman took us into an office and started giving us the whole spill. He asked where my fiancé got my engagement ring and we told him Spence (in Austin). I'm not sure if it was an act or not, but he was in awe by my ring and asked me to take it off so he could look at it. He was like "this is one of the most beautiful rings I have ever seen...etc". I was super flattered by his remarks then he continued his spill. He said DD doesn't sell lab grown diamonds only mined. He literally said "I have seen lab grown diamonds and they are disgustingly ugly!"
