My daughter and I were having a good time shopping and picking out plants. Everything was great until it wasn't. When we got to the checkout we had a couple cut in front of us and I called them out to move to the back of the line to only be informed that these people have previously checked out and wanted to get something else quickly. The cashier didn't ask them to move to the back of the line of people waiting but continued to help them anyways. Which wasn't the worst part of my experience. My daughter was looking for yard decorations and wanted to show me something she thought was cool when a worker yelled across the room "HEY LITTLE GIRL DONT TOUCH THAT!!" Then continued to bend down and get close to my daughters face (who was already froze from being yelled at by some crazy old lady) and continued to tell her the item she was showing me was SO expensive and she would break it if she keeps messing with it. I told the lady she was fine meaning SHE'S OBVIOUSLY NOT GOING TO TOUCH IT ANYMORE and she looked at me and said "NO ITS NOT FINE" and continued telling her the $30 item cannot be touched by children and wouldn't stop until I told the women I GOT IT!! My daughter is 5. She was in my 5 year olds face and is incredibly lucky I didn't get into hers. My first initial thought was to leave my entire cart and let the rude employee put away the flowers I was shopping for but I ended up buying it so I could just get out of there. She completely ruined our experience and day after that with her horrible attitude. She was brunette wearing a bandana or whatever it was around her forehead. She wasn't nice, she didn't ask nicely, she surely doesn't know how to talk to children or to be professional. So if you have kids and enjoy going to greenhouses with them DO NOT COME HERE. They don't know how to treat little kids. ALSO most of their plants are diseased (zinnias, etc.) so buy with caution if you do happen to go here

The greenhouse itself is huge, well organized, and surprisingly easy to shop despite how much they have. I'd honestly love to see what the selection looks like even earlier in May, though planting too early in Michigan always feels a little risky. Prices felt very fair too, especially compared to some of the hanging basket and planter prices at local markets and pop-ups. Definitely a spot I'll be returning to.

I had been to this farm market a few years ago and thought the selection was better then. The sparse offerings this time may be because I went on a Wednesday. I'd be willing to bet they get a better turnout on the weekends. However, I did have a fun time talking to the old farmer and beekeeper who ran one of the booths. He gave me the dirt on a few different local produce farms and I liked him, even though he talked smack about one of my favorite U-pick farms. I bought two luscious locally grown cucumbers for $2 and had one of them cut up on a green salad for lunch today. He also was selling locally grown beans, turnips, carrots, and strawberries, along with jarred honey and honey still in the comb. I plan to give the Farmer's Market one more try, probably on a Saturday.

The items were fine, just not quite what I was hoping for. I do wish the vendors could get a little more bang for their buck, whether that's higher traffic, better layout, or stronger buyer energy.
