Really fun outdoor activity while being conscious of social distancing. They have it set up pretty simply so you can just pick up your box while in your car, drive up to where they point you to and start filling your boxes with fresh strawberries. They do require you to wear a mask, but it's also nice that people are far from each other so you can really just enjoy your activity. Highly recommended if you're looking for something fun to do outside.

Yay for Rowe's! We had an excellent time picking strawberries. They were easy to find and with some sunscreen and bug repellent, my kids and I were able to stay for a long time picking strawberries. I will say I learned a thing or two after my experience, such as not to pick the super ripe berries. They will turn to much by the time you get home to wash them all. Once entering Rowes, you are given the picking boxes, which they supply, and guided to a place to park. You don't really get to choose your picking location and if you meeting others, make sure you drive in together or you won't be picking together. We came at the season height for strawberries and found so many. While you're sort of confined to where you parked to pick, there is a lot of land to cover if you're patient. I appreciated that Rowe's provided picking boxes and an easy checkout system. It was convenient and a lot of fun for my family and me!

Corn's from this farm --- not everything is.

Not everything is from this farm. Sweet Corn is from this farm, tomatoes are from this state, no promises on the watermelon. Expired coconut candy, not a big deal. The watermelons definitely looked professionally packed, like you'd find at a supermarket, rather than something picked from a nearby field. Some good farm produce, but some things they're just re-selling.

This is a cool little place that's pretty easy to get to. We stopped by here on June 18, 2017 after striking out at the local strawberry festival. Fair warning to all by the time we went here the strawberry season was already four weeks in and the pickings were slim. I suggest those looking to do ripe picking call up Rowes in July. The piece of land that the strawberry fields were on was decent in size and the strawberry rows adequate for this time of year. We ended up finding a few pounds of fresh on the stem berries. The berries are hidden underneath the leaves and the best tasting berries I found were the ones located right by the water irrigation tubes. I recommend bringing a bottle of water as I did to wash and test the strawberries in field as some were very bitter and since strawberries grow close to the ground they're covered in earth. The only real issue is that some were smaller than a penny which shouldn't be a problem if you're making jam or a pie but if you're looking for grocery store size strawberries I'd suggest coming at a different time of year. All in all the experience was cool, educational and fun we walked away with a few pounds of strawberries for only $9.15 and a cool experience under our belt.

I came here on Father's Day (sans father, the realities of living so far from California) with a good friend to pick strawberries. It was an extremely hot day and of course we decided right around 11am was a good time to start. No shade cover but you have to know that going in! There were a lot of people picking strawberries out there, but it didn't feel crowded, and we had no problems filling up our trays! I did ~9.5 lbs and my friend did 15 lbs! The price was very good, as my total came out to be just over $18. Weighing and paying was easy, and I appreciated they had cobbler mix and pectin for those who want to get straight down to strawberry business when they get home.

This year, I also picked sugar snap peas and Chinese pea pods, and they were fantastic.

This farmers market is open as an indoor market once per month in the off-season. I visited this…read moresmall but mighty market for the first time in March, and I was impressed by the variety of vendors and products. The indoor market is also at Pittsfield Township Hall, but the indoor market is set up inside, in Morris Hall. There was a chef demonstration giving away samples (apple pancakes and kale/blueberry smoothies) in the lobby when I entered. In the actual market, there were about a dozen vendors offering fresh produce and prepared goods. Especially since it was early March, I was impressed with the variety of fresh fruits and veggies - including beets, carrots, swiss chard, garlic, spinach, apples, onions, frozen blueberries. Eggs, honey, cupcakes, kettle corn, bread, and pie were also available. There was even a vendor selling fresh pasta. Two vendors also sold homemade products - cutting boards and organic lotion and bath bombs, etc. Many offered yummy samples- including cheese and kettle corn. In addition to the vendors, there was a craft table and an entertainer making balloon animals. A number of kids were singing with a guitarist as well. The market felt lively and active, but not overcrowded, and it was not difficult to shop even with all this happening. I can't wait to come back for the outdoor markets!

I really enjoyed my visit to this farmers market. There was a lot of fresh produce, honey…read more(including local honey from someone's backyard), scented soy vegan candles, an instrument "petting zoo" (you could try out instruments yourself), and nut butters. One or two of the vendors didn't take cards, but the rest of them did. I don't carry cash, so I couldn't buy anything from the ones who didn't accept cards. I would recommend they get SquareSpace and set a minimum amount for people to be able to charge. I hope to come back to this market again!
