After extensive dental work I'm able to enjoy my most missed meal - Buddy's pizza. So worth the wait. Friendly and fast service from Brooklyn. Pizza so delicious and still piping hot when I got home. Fair pricing plus great rewards program. Nostalgic decor is so welcoming.

Posting because I found an amazing halal hack for non pork eaters. I have always been jealous of the antipasto salad because it traditionally comes with ham and salami, but now you can sub halal pepperoni! Why is this extra amazing you ask? Because it comes with the Wisconsin brick cheese that is cool, creamy, and has a delightful chewy texture. I just love the way it's chopped. We had Jillian as our server tonight and she was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, hooked us up with our pepperoni substitute for the salad, and brought us out a new pizza when our first round was way over cooked. The second pizza was so good, crispy, and cheesy! I looove the vibes at Buddy's. It's a very nostalgic place and the patio is fabulous.

First time. Great environment and the pizza and Mac n cheese were superb. They don't have pizza like this in Seattle!!

The buddy's bread was so good I would've only ordered a basket of that, it was warm, buttery, covered in parm, and honestly better than the actual pizza. The pizza itself was okay, I ordered a pepperoni deep dish. It wasn't bad, but it almost tasted frozen and was kind of a disappointment when I had traveled so far to try it. The crust was decent and the best part but the flavor didn't blow me away. That said, service was fine it was kinda empty when I went during lunch hours and I didn't get a refill the entire time I was there which was disappointing. That being said the buddy's bread made it worth it.

A local friend & I stopped in at 2:30 on a Sunday. We were seated right away and our server was attentive. I enjoyed a berry cider from Blake's (local to Michigan) as we ordered Buddy Bread, the Antipasto Salad, and a pepperoni 8 corner pizza. The food was delicious, I enjoyed getting authentic Detroit pizza! My leftover slices ever tasted great from the toaster oven the next day. The restaurant itself is a bit tired looking, but nothing crazy.

We wanted to try Detroit-style pizza, and Buddy's was the place that kept popping up. A classic old school pizza diner that has stood the test of time. I had to do some research about what defines a Detroit-style pizza: rectangular in shape; a chewy and airy crust; and caramelized cheese (ideally Wisconsin brick cheese) along the crust edges. Buddy's checked all those boxes. Wasn't too crazy about the appetizers, but the pizzas were amazing! The antipasto salad was the very definition of pizza salad with a random assortment of toppings, but I did appreciate the freshness of the vegetables. The minestrone soup had a thicker consistency than I was used to and reminded me of a chowder rather than a more classic tomato-based soup. For the pizzas, we had the Detroit Public TV (pepperoni and cheese) and the Super 6 Mile (ham, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, green peppers). I'm normally biased towards more toppings, but in this case, I actually liked the classic pepperoni and cheese one more. For dessert, we couldn't pass up on their cream puff sundae. Definitely a keeper! Overall, a great way to start our trip. Definitely recommend if you're looking for classic Detroit-style pizza. And where better to get it than from where it all started?

Ok, I am just going to start of by saying Buddy's pizza is amazing! Delicious. We had to try Buddy's as we heard it's a must when visiting Detroit. We used this Dearborn location and ordered online. Service was not very friendly or personable but they were busy and it has its separate to-go and pick up door and area. We grabbed our food and took it back to the hotel and devoured it. I would absolutely recommend and I love the cheese and that crust!

First time trying Detroit Style Pizza! This was my first stop after landing and I was seriously craving pizza! I ended up at this spot and ordered The Detroiter. It definitely hit the spot and met all my expectations. The pizza came out super fresh like, the box was burning hot. The cheese was perfectly chewy and the spices were on point. I ordered a side of ranch to dip it in and wow... sooo bomb. It took about 15 minutes to make. It was worth the wait. The staff were really friendly and the place has both dine-in and a separate side for takeout or pickup orders. I just wish we had this spot back home in California. So glad I got to try it.

How do you visit Detroit and not try Buddy's for Detroit-style pizza? It definitely didn't disappoint! Our server was fantastic, super helpful with recommendations and made the whole experience even better. The food was great, and the pizza was absolutely worth the hype. We also tried the cream puff sundae (pretty sure it's a Michigan thing), and it was the perfect sweet ending. The place has that classic, old-school pizza shop vibe, which really adds to the overall ambiance. Definitely recommend

Pizza was fantastic! I got the 4 square spicy Italian pizza and it was thick and flavorful! My only negative comment was the evening I went (7:30 PM), it was nowhere near busy but my server was very unattentive. I finished my food, after waiting for a while I finally asked another server for a to go box. That server never brought it either. She never even came out of the back then about 10 minutes passed and she came out with the check. I was eating solo so it wasn't a wait time for a big part to finished. That part was disappointing, but the food was good enough that I'd go back and visit still and just hope to get a different server

Some of the Romaine lettuce in both salads were brown. The croutons should have been separate, they were soggy after an hour or so. The base of the chafing dishes had quite a bit of water at the bottom and made the lettuce quite wilted quickly. Their house salad has green olives, red onion, carrot shredded, tomatoes and I only saw one pepperoncini. The bread sticks were chewy and good and tasted good with their house ranch sauce too. The better part is the food was able to be picked up earlier than most places.

Our entrees also came with a side of potatoes and green beans. This is a lot of food! We also ordered drinks; a limoncello martini for her, one for me, and I also had a Long Island Iced tea. The martinis were delicious, but the tea was terrible. When the waiter brought out the bowl of fruit and walnuts at the end of our meal along with the check, I almost fell out of my chair!! The prices have drastically increased! I get that we're dealing with inflation, but come on!! $40 for each eggplant parm entree and $54 for 3 drinks!!! Seriously?! We also were not provided with an itemized invoice and had to request one which took forever. The prices on their website are also much cheaper than their current menus. Very deceiving. Saw signs to take…read morea ticket but didn't realize the tickets were by the door but once they called our ticket and we ordered it took about a half hour to get the pizza which wasn't too bad. There is some indoor and outdoor seating but we decided to take ours to go. We got a Margherita, Corleone, and Al Nieri (Italian Sausage and Ricotta Calzone). The Al Nieri was the our favorite, the cazlone was so soft inside and creamy from the ricotta. The second was the Margherita which was cooked perfectly and not too crunchy but nice flavor from the sauce and cheese. The Corleone was also very good but I think I need to get some ranch to dip it in which I regret not asking for. Definitely would go back and worth the hype although I can imagine it gets pretty busy at times.
