I had a very frustrating experience with the Enterprise Birmingham South location. I was assured that they had one available, so I went ahead and made my purchase. About 15 minutes later, the location called me back and said they actually did not have a truck. When I explained that I had called specifically to verify availability before making the purchase, the person I spoke with was extremely rude and tried to make it seem like it was my fault. She then put me on hold for about 20 minutes. I hung up and tried calling back, only to be put right back on hold again. I then contacted Enterprise customer service and was told a district manager would call me to help get the situation resolved. Two hours later, I still had not received a call, and the location was about to close. This caused a major inconvenience and could have been avoided if I had been given accurate information or treated with basic customer service once the mistake happened. I understand inventory can change, but I do not understand confirming a truck, having me act on that information, then being rude when Enterprise's information turned out to be wrong. Very disappointing experience.

When he arrived to pick up our rental (ON TIME MIND YOU), he was told they opted NOT to hold our reservation due to a concert and race in the city, and had instead rented out all the vehicles that would fit our family. We ended up leaving 3 hours late and were LIED to about our options after that. We were told we could swap the vehicle out at our next stop in Tallahassee, but surprise, the Hertz at the next location also did not have the vehicle we needed. We are left driving a car with not enough space for the family members we have with us and driving a vehicle we cannot see out the back window because luggage is wedged in anywhere it could go. From the very beginning, they made me feel like more than just another customer. Janice, in particular, greeted me every week with a warm, "Hi, Mr. Goldstein!", a small gesture that made a big difference. What really stood out was Janice's ability to anticipate my needs. My flights were often delayed, yet she consistently had a car ready and waiting for me as soon as I arrived at the counter. There was never any delay; it was seamless every single time. Despite seeing me weekly, Janice and team never cut corners. They always verified my drivers license and reviewed all rental details thoroughly, maintaining a high level of professionalism while still delivering that personal touch. The vehicles were always clean, comfortable, and ready to go. Returns were just as efficient, as someone was always there immediately to check me in without any wait.
