Needed a place to sleep super last minute/late and chose this place because it was cheaper and had vacancies. Our room at most had sheets that had changed since the last person stayed there. Don't think much else got done because everything was filthy, there was a hole in the wall stuffed with toliet paper to "fix" it, didn't take photos of the sheets that we wouldn't sleep in because there were burn holes from a cigarette in both the pillow cases and sheet. Was expecting it to be not be an incredible experience but didn't expect to have to lay towels down to sleep because we couldn't get ourselves in sleep in the sheets. No stars! the only reason I gave one is I couldn't post without it. This place is an absolute s--t hole!!! Had second floor room 149. DO NOT stay here, the 4 or 5 star ratings are a set up from the ppl there, no one would rate it like that. Floors so filthy I could see my tracks when I got out of the shower, laid my towel on the floor and stepped on it and could see foot prints from the filth, after looking around after that I found so many disgusting things. Thank god I didnt sleep in the bed the first night just on top bc it was hot, pulled covers back the next morning to inspect and found hair!! a lot of hair in the bed and white flakes on the black sheets that I assume would be skin flakes. Enough said, don't go here, this place needs a bulldozer!!! Paid for 4 nights moved out after one, and still trying to get my money back with no luck. Rating is really a ZERO!!! I arrived to check in for my room that I prepaid 3 weeks prior to find out they do not have my room and they proceed to give me a different room. At that point it is late I need to sleep so I agree. In moving my stuff into the room, I notice a q-tip on the floor next to the table. Which urges me to look further. OH my goodness the disgusting filth and roaches!!! Room has not been cleaned in ages. I have 36 pictures to back this up. I went to the front desk to advise of the filth. She said she would send someone. First one man shows up and I show him what I have found so far. All he did was pick up the trash and through it in the garbage. Then he came back with bug spray and a old man with a dirty mop and a bottle of bleach. He sprays from bugs and the other man pours bleach on the floor and slushes it around. Meanwhile I am standing in the breezeway in the freezing cold weather. I wait for OVER an hour in the breezeway with the door open waiting for the floor to dry and the bleach smell to go away. After an hour I give up and go to Walmart to buy a mop, bucket, cleaning products and bug spray to try to clean the room enough to be able to sleep for the night. I had to re-mop the area to get up some of the bleach and filth. I had to clean the sink and toilet just to be able to us it. There were even dead roaches in the refrigerator. There was gross stuff on and around the drain in the shower so I could not shower. I did not touch that. There is even an electrical outlet in the shower. DRUG NEEDLE IN ROOM!!! This is horrific and terrible. Do not come here unless you absolutely have to. We checked into Room 136 (Non Smoking) on Thursday February 3rd. Instantly the room smelt of cigarettes. We looked passed that until we found a molded cigarette stuck to the AC unit with brown liquid around it. The smoke detectors batteries were taken out as well and weren't replaced. The AC is also broken and emitting a foul urine like odor that made me throw up. Staff didn't fix it properly. We can't breathe in this room. The AC air is making my chest, throat and stomach hurt. (Friday February 4th) We went to get some groceries at a near by Publix. Only to come back and realize the mini fridge is broken. Tested the temperature dial and waited, that didn't work. So we pulled the cabinet out thinking it could be a faulty outlet. THEN we found a DISGUSTING NEEDLE. We both instantly felt paranoid and triggered. I went down to the office and spoke to a man named Ken. Told him about the fridge, that our groceries were going bad and that there was a needle. He didn't seem concerned at all. Said someone might be by in the morning to check it out. This all happened at 8:30pm. Seems like still a reasonable time to help a guest make sure their food doesn't go bad. Considering the office is open 24 Hours this was so upsetting. The energy in room 136 and in this entire building is off. Someone was shooting up drugs in our room and there is clear evidence. We couldn't sleep. Such a Haunted feeling. It's Saturday, the morning after. We spoke to the older man who works here, he said Ken just got in and would get a us new room. We packed our things and went back down to the office. I spoke to Ken, he said there is "No Rooms" we are "Fully Booked" then proceeded to argue with me. We've walked around the building and have seen easily 20+ vacant rooms. Seems like the owner doesn't want to help. It's even hard to get towels. They make you feel like a burden for basic necessities. We had booked a long stay here so you'd think we'd be given a thoroughly cleaned room with everything up to date so that we wouldn't have to keep bothering the front desk. Ken was rude to me and I feel discriminated against. I'm writing all of this as a sit here waiting for something to be done. We do not deserve to be treated like this. I'm 19 years old and my brother is 24. We are kind people and not drugged. We shouldn't have to see a needle. How we have been treated is very unprofessional and unpleasant. Male clerk with gray hair that checked us in was not happy that we interrupted him. Did not say hello, thank you, welcome anything. Did not ask for our room preference and was perturbed that I asked for a king size bed and he had to change what he had selected. The room was the 2nd dirtiest room I have ever stayed in which is what prompted me to write this. There was a black small hair in the tub and allover the walls. Behind the fridge was drink? stains from the floor to above the TV stand on the wall. There was 1 tissue in the tissue box. Behind the char was pajama bottoms left from a previous "guest". When I pulled the chair out there was bottle caps, hair and dirt under and behind the chair. We pulled the comforter off the bed completely and kept our shoes on when walking on the carpet. The next morning I had a red welt under my eye. Don't know if I got bit by something or what? The same man knocked on our door and asked if we were checking out. The I've stayed at other Budget Inns and this one was by far, the worst I've ever stayed in. I even went to a Walgreens to get Lysol spray because I felt like I was staying in a garage bin. When we got to the office to check it, the guy at the desk acted like we were disturbing him and acted like he didn't know we had a reservation. Then after we finally get check in, we go to the room and it smells like smoke. I didn't request a smoking room. I have my 4 year old daughter with us. I went back to change the room and the office door was locked. I rang the door bell and it take over 5 minutes for him to come open the door. (The neon "open" sign was on in the window) I got the new key and when we got into the room, it was just so dirty and disgusting. So much lent and dust on the AC and TV. The floors were so dirty, the bathroom counter was nasty. There was hair all over the sheets. I can go on and on about all the horrible things. I have pictures too. We went over to Punta Gorda for my husbands tournament and next time there is another tournament there, we will definitely be looking at staying in another hotel read more

My brother and I stayed here on 1/7/16, we flew into Fort Myers late, and I had booked a room here ahead of time to be near the downtown area. We arrived late, 2am roughly, and the 24 hr front desk held true, after banging on the door and ringing the bell for 10 minutes. Once the Scooby doo villian looking curater took a long look at the clock he eventually opened the door. I'd like to say he was polite, but that would be a lie, he was rude, sleepy and unable to find our reservation in the stack of hand written scrap paper notes. With persuasion he honored the internet price of $84. He handed me the key and the remote to the tv and sent me on my way, rudely I might add one more time. The room, well, it was a toss up between the bed with the black hair on the sheets or the one with odd red stains on the sheets and bed spread, I opted for the stains, best your gonna get at 2:30am im guessing. The bathroom was like a prison cell without the inmates, it was dirty, rundown and offered little in amenities. The a/c worked about as good as you would expect and kept the sober btother up all night making a aweful racket. We rolled out at 11am to find the same rude man in the office, turned in the remote and tried to move on dispite the lingering emotional scars of spending 9 hours in the hotel. on a side note, the pool looked nice and the landscaping was colorful. Don't stay here, just sleep in your car, you will be better off. read more

I get it. It's a budget inn. It's cheap and expectations should be adjusted accordingly. But the elderly gentleman who greeted me at the desk seemed to have zero gift or training for dealing with the public. When I walked in he was picking his nose and watching television. When he sneezed (after removing the aforesaid finger from his nostril) I said "bless you", and he muttered "yup". When he finally tried to engage with me, it wasn't about my stay or my needs but rather to comment on what the actors were saying on the TV show. I stayed here on the night of 05/28/16 from the Internet pictures it looked ok but, from that point it was all downhill. On my way to my nonsmoking room I walked past cars in various stages of disrepair, passing by young people that were smoking,drinking. and appeared to be long term residents All,Were watching me unload my car with obvious interest . Upon inspection of my room there wereI no working lights in the front room, so I left the front door Open for the light so I could find my way to the bath, where there was a working light , so looking around , I saw the ceiling had a 9 ft long hole where water has been leaking in for sometime And the bed reaped of pesticide. at that point I ran back to the office for a refund . There was a sign saying ring bell so I did no one showed . So I had to spend the night there . I slept in my clothes on top of the bed,at daylight I prepared for a shower to find there was no hot water. so I opted for a sponge bath in the sink only to find that the sink drain was plugged I wrote this in hopes that I can save another unsuspecting victim from hotel hell read more

We tell anyone we know planning to go toward Tampa, to stay away from the Budget Inn in Punta Gorda. We called at 10:20 pm for a room, front desk said there was one room left, cost would be $129. and 3 people were expected to book it by 10:30, I should call back in a little bit. I called back at 10:33, front desk said that room got taken, but another one "just became available." and the cost for that one was $139.I asked if we could have it for the original price quoted since it was so late at night, he said "no, that's the rate on that room," but he didn't even say if it had one or two beds or even what size...the whole deal sounded hinkey. What hotel, other than the no-tell-hotel, has a check out at 10:30pm? I told the front desk that my husband and I would have to think about it, and the jerk says, "fine, but if you call back again, the price is going to be $149."
