I was completely wrong, and don't want any of you to make the same mistake. From sales, to scheduling, to pickup, all was well. After that, there has been nothing but deceit, misinformation & silence. As I write this review, I've been without my belongings for FORTY DAYS, with zero updates of when my items will reach me in Texas. Budget is the broker, and not the mover- which they will continue to remind you again and again. Basically what this means is that they take your money, but ultimately have no purpose in your move. They won't advocate on your behalf, update you on your possessions, tell you the truth, higher quality movers, etc. I was dazzled by the price, and did not consider the glaring reality of how incredibly costly it is to live in an empty home for 40+ days. Please, move along and look for another MOVER. Don't get a broker and make the same mistake I did. read more

The guy forgot to hand me back my drivers license. He did hand me my debit card and then I saw him swipe my license. But he held onto my license and forgot to hand it over so I went to a car dealer which was 25 min drive and to test drive they asked for my license. I called them back and said i believe they didn't give it back and he said they hold on to it as a standard which is a lie. Our Desk Asians give it back to me. He was the only one so I told him that and he said the machine ate it up, which was also a lie because I saw him swipe it and held it so he's a liar so as a result, I have to drive back, so that's gasoline going out there gasoline coming back and gasoline going back out there plus I lose an hour and a half of Rental Car time and all he could say to me is come and get it and he got off the phone and was pretty unapologetic. it would've helped me feel better if someone said, I apologize that was my mistake just to make it up to you. I brought my friend to pick up a pre-reserved car. No one in line. We were told the car was ready but ended up waiting 20 minutes while 5 employees wander around doing not much. Not impressed. In addition, the car was rented under the "fast track" option where you simply arrive, show your license and get your keys. This wasn't the case. DO NOT rent at this location. Rented us a truck that should no no longer be on the road. It had 160,000+ miles and the maintenance records show the oil hasn't been changed in over 20,000 miles. We only got 9mpg and rented the smallest truck and didn't use the air and also didn't even have a full load. Long lines and short on staff. They also overcharged us $1500 and didn't correct their mistake for over two weeks which ruined our vacation. read more

Probably the worst experience I've had in a rental place. I had initially placed my reservation for a mid-size SUV online several days before through Priceline, and purchased the rental insurance through the website as well. When we get there the day of the pick up, we wait for literally 40 minutes to be seen, as they offered to call the insurance providers of every person ahead of us to confirm coverage. Once seen, they do not have my car as it was dropped off at a different location instead. The staff member is noticeably frustrated and unsure as to what to do, then she goes to speak to a manager. They offer me a mustang, I ask for a small car instead as mustangs are not good passenger vehicles. They offer me a Kia optima, I accept as I am now running late for my trip. The staff member is very much rushing through everything to try to get me out of there. She asks if I'm purchasing insurance. I show her i bought coverage online. Without even looking at what I'm showing her she tells me that what i purchased is not for the vehicle, but for the trip instead. She then gives me the flyer with their options. Without giving me time to look at what I had already purchased, she goes into the speech of what they cover. Already having spent so much time there, I buy the cheapest coverage they got, which still amounts to roughly $145 for the week. I leave with the vehicle and immediately hit the road. Once I get to my destination I look over the paperwork and realize that my full sized car was billed for the same amount as the mid size SUV I had reserved and didn't get. On top of that, the insurance i purchased through Priceline did indeed cover loss and damage to the vehicle. I called and was told that I had to come into the office to cancel the insurance. I explained that I'm out of state, but I'm near a Budget office and asked if they could fax the needed paperwork in order to remedy the issue. I was transferred to the manager of the office, who answered and abruptly hung up on me. I called back and was told that the manager was in meetings all day, and I was given his direct number to call. I called, left a voice message. That was on a Tuesday, and it's Saturday now with still no call back. I don't like leaving negative reviews unless I have to, and in this case, I feel like I have to. read more

This place closes at 5:30 PM! Google is incorrect about their closing time so don't make the same mistake I did. In any case, even though I got there at 5:30 the staff was willing to take the time to help me. Checking out was super fast and easy. They also accepted my lease as a bill for renting with a debit card (my complex pays my sewage and water), which I really appreciated. I returned the car on Easter, unfortunately the office had closed at 2 so I needed to leave the keys in the drop-box. Assuming no issues comes up about that (and I'm not charged extra for anything), my experience was extremely positive. If something does arise I will return here to make changes to this review, but they did a great job with me. read more

Never rent from Budget rent a car. They will claim that you did damage to the car even though the damage was under the car. They said "you had to examine the car before taking it out" Who gets on their back to look under the car. Scammed us. If there was a zero rating, I would have given it that. I also had to wait two hours to get our can at the McCaren airport in Las Vegas, and then didn't get the car I requested and the one they said was reserved. People there are frazzled and the ones at the main counter don't know how to do a long term rental (two months), so there was another hour finding someone who could take care of us. I own a company that has been renting from this location for right at 10 years and have been happy - until now. I don't know what's going on with the new staff but they have an absolute "I don't care" attitude. It's forced me to look elsewhere for service. I even rent from Budget for my private rentals in town - not any more. Please start sending your people to customer service training, then maybe you'll be able to retain customers. D*mn shame. Pros: Friendly employee. Especially the employee who helps you to check the car. Reid is a nice guy. Cons: Have to spend extra money to upgrade since the car that I have booked is unavailable. Conclusion: Used this budget for a couple of times. Not too bad like yelp comments. Don't forget, this budget is always the cheapest one in this area. Awful service. I made a reservation a week before, I received a confirmation for the reservation. The day I was to pick up the truck I was informed that the truck I reserved was out of order and that I had to call customer service, now I am scrambling around to find a large truck for my move out of state. The representatives were not helpful one bit, they did not bother to contact me prior to me coming in to inform me of such issues. Awful service, I guess you get what you pay for. I have to start with I truly love this company that's why I always use Budget but this location when I return the car. I return the car on the contract and when I got there the guy who worked there told me I don't need a receipt or anything and that it will be emailed to me. I trusted the worker so I booked my Uber back to my hotel because I had a early flight the next day. I ended up getting charged an extra day saying I returned it late. I contact the customer service and they gave me a hard time and would not help me. For anyone who going to use this company. Do not trust them. Byron at the counter was very rude. He charged me for fuel. I was given 1/2 a tank and was told bring back with half tank. I brought back with 3/4 full. It was on the walk around inspection b4 trip. Byron asked for that slip from me. I showed him. He gave me my receipt. I walked outside looked at receipt and I noticed a fuel charge of 42.00. I went back to speak with Byron. He gave shit for coming back saying they would have caught it and that i would have been refunded. I said how do i know that. Please reverse it now. Stay away from tropicana branch across new orleans hotels and casino. Customer service very poor and unsatisfying. They put full tank on my paperwork where there is less than a quarter of a tank on gas. Took me a lot of time to talk to them to change the contract. And when i return the car i rented they charge me twice bcoz of the daylight saving time. (For 1 hour they charge extra day and insurance wc $100. ). Too greedy. And when i told the lady on the counter can i have at least a credit on the gas bcoz im returning it more than half a tank. (5 -6 gallons more) and replied to u can take it. I rented from budget in lvs, i very clearly denied any additional insurances, pick the car up and there was a $62 charge for insurance. FRAUD. there is no way she misunderstood me. when i tried to have the charge reversed when i dropped the car off the would not. Frank the manager was an utter ass about it to. I usually hate rental car places and this was no exception. The constant upselling is insane. Imagine my dismay when after returning my car after 2 days, 1 hr, they try to charge me $34, or MORE than a single day's rental fee. And then they try to charge me a $15 refueling fee even though the tank was full because I went more than 75 miles and didn't have a receipt (I forgot to print it out). Screw you guys, I'm going home. After speaking to the manager in the kiosk, it was all fixed and over $40 was removed from the bill. Thanks for doing an honest job and not screwing me over. Ya know....when Las Vegas centralized the rental car companies into one location and had only one set of buses going to the same place, my first impression was that WOW, finally one of Budget's biggest weakness, not frequent enough buses, will finally be solved like it has in Baltimore.......... WRONG. Budget in true form, snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. So what they do now is have all the FastBreak customers go directly to the garage. So far so good......until you find out that you have to check in with the attendant to get a car and keys. WTF? The purpose of FastBreak was to avoid this step. Instead you have a line of people waiting for 15 min and only one person getting the cars dispensed. The lines inside the regular counter were much shorter. My advice to FastBreakers, if after you get off the bus and see a short line in the regular Budget counter......take it because there is no guarantee there won't be a longer line awaiting you. Somehow I wish Budget stockholders would take note of these criticisms and try to improve the company. At this rate, they will be renting themselves out of business. Had a reservation here and was waiting in a line that seemed to stretch for miles. I was in line for 40 minutes and it seriously didn't move an inch. I went online and canceled my reservation and rented online with a place with a much shorter line....by the time I had my car and was leaving I still would've been in line here. I'd avoid this place at all costs, if you want to scratch "waiting in a 3 hour line" off your bucket list just go to the Oyster Bar at Palace Station where at least you're waiting for awesome seafood. read more

It was the worst car rental experience of my life. I reserved a convertible and paid over $250 a day for my daughter and I to enjoy in Vegas. The reservation was for 8:00am. I checked in to get the car and was told it was not yet ready. There was apparently a convertible that was supposed to be returned soon that I could use. By 8:40am, the car had still not been returned. They called the customer and the returning customer said he'd be too late. So they gave me a different standard rental and told me to drive to a different budget rental car office. That was a 20 minute drive. Then I had to fill out new paperwork at the new office to complete the transfer. They had a convertible there for me, but the car was dirty. Not only was the car dirty, but it was COMPLETELY EMPTY. There was less than 1/8th tank full of gas. I turned the car on and noticed the E warning light was on and went back inside the office to tell them the problem. They completely dismissed it and told me that I better go to the gas station then. I've never picked up a rental car, especially a luxury or premium rental car, that had less than 1/8th of a tank of gas. They said, "It's not our fault if a customer returned the car empty." So after all that, it was now nearly 9:45am and I had to drive straight to the gas station myself, completely missing the breakfast appointment with friends at 9:00am. Like I said, it was the worst rental experience of my life and I will be sharing this on google reviews and other platforms as well. Can't believe I spent over $750 for that. read more

Rented the car through Costco Travel website with a good rate. Got in Vegas around midnight to the rental car center. One person was working the counter with about 5 groups in front of us. Waited about 10 minutes and the line did not move at all. Then one more employee came out to help. The rep was friendly and apologized for the wait. Got my printed reservation and ask if the free upgrade was any good. The rep replied that he would give us the free upgrade if they have one available. Okay, no problem there. If he said there is none, fine. Did not want to argue about what's being said on my print out reservation. It did say "Save up to 20% (or was it 30%) off and a free upgrade". He say we could either get a Nissan Cube or a Chevrolet Aveo(?) . Got the Nissan Cube. The rep went through the same speech as other rental companies about insurance, fuel charges, and etc.. Told him we got our own insurance and we will bring the car back with the full tank, like we always do. You know they will charge you more to fill it up for you. He did not give us any pressure. The rep told us the stall number where the car will be. No employee in sight at the lot. Found the car where it suppose to be. The Cube looks new. We made sure there is no damage on the car before we drove off the lot. Did noted there were some minor scratches on the side. There was an employee by the exit, handed him the paper and off we went. No problems during the rental period which was 4 days. Returning the car was quick. The guy checked the car and fuel, which was full, and printed out a receipt. That's when I noticed the amount was different from the rental agreement. They charged me an extra $13.99 for fuel. I asked the guy why the fuel charge when I return the car full tank and he says to take the receipt to the counter and they can explain there without even looking at the receipt. There were no one behind us. Not like he was too busy or anything. Fine, I will talk to the rental people at the counter. I did not wait in line. There were about 6 -7 people in line. I wait on the side and just so happen it was the same guy that rented us the car. I walked up to him when he was done helping someone and point out the extra charge. He was friendly but told me that the charge was because we drove less than 75 miles so Budget changes that $13.99 fuel charge. What? That's NOT what the agreement says. I double, triple checked it and here's what it says "Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as you received it. If you do not, additional fuel fees may apply: 000-074 MIs equals a 13.99 flat rate fee. 075 MIs and above equals .2959 per MI or 7.990 per Gal." As you can see, the charge apply ONLY if you return the car below full tank. I did not make a fuss since the guy was being pleasant and apologetic. Still it makes me wonder. We already said we will return the car full tank during the rental process at the counter and we still got charged extra fee. Is it an honest mistake or something else? How many of these mistakes have taken place and how many people checked their receipt after returning the car? The 3 stars is because the guy at the counter was friendly or else it would have been a 2 star. read more

Oh my Gosh! Where to start: 1. We made a reservation online to speed up the rental process when we landed (which was late ~10:30pm). The line for people with reservations was so long and SLOW, while the line for walk ups went by faster. It took 30 mins waiting in line before we got up to the front desk (we were 3rd in line). By the time we made it to the front, the line behind us grew to about 13 customers. 2. We reserved a RAV4 and paid for a RAV4 but the guy helping us went to the back for another 20 minutes and came back to tell us they didn't have any and gave us a Camry instead. What's the point in reserving a specific vehicle if it wasn't an option or the vehicle type/model wasn't being held?? 3. We got to the numbered spot he gave us and the car was a Kia Optima, not a Toyota Camry. Ugh, so incompetent....I was really frustrated. This also happened to us at a Budget car rental in Orange County earlier this year. We've FINALLY learned never to use Budget again. read more

1.) Like all the other reviewers, I've already spent at least $100 more than I thought I would. I tried to say no to the insurance because my credit card covers it, but i was told i HAD to purchase it. Low and behold I didn't. I thought pre-paying would help avoid some of the additional charges but I was very wrong. 2.) I got a bigger car then I reserved that didn't get as good of gas mileage and had a small tank. This means on my drive from LV to Reno I had to stop and fill up more often. Not a big deal but annoying none the less. 3.) According to the sticker on the front windshield, the oil should have been changed 2000 miles ago and this psyched me out. This is not my car, i should not be worrying about this. 4.) Terrible customer service. I've never rented a car before and had some questions and the dude that helped me (danny v. I think) was not friendly, helpful or engaging at all. I don't think anyone smiled one time, ever. Just rude, impatient employees. Drop-off was better but there are WAY to many people working there for no one to greet you when you walk in.. 5.) I left some clothes and blankets in the backseat and now they smell like stale cigarettes. This normally wouldn't bug me at all, except I was very firmly warned not to smoke in the car at least 3 times when I picked it up. Clearly other renters didn't get that memo and I feel a little singled out. I don't smoke and no one else would be in the car (which i told him the first time he warned me), no need to tell me multiple times. Maybe if everyone got singled out this wouldn't be an issue.. Had I read the reviews beforehand I would have chosen a different company, my experience was very similar to all the other reviewers. Never again. read more

The customer service representative behind the counter, some Mexican POS, tried to present me with the rental contract for a truck and every time he would come up with the contract it was an overinflated different price. Finally I called him on his BS after he tried to tell me insurance for the truck was mandatory after I read on the contract it clearly states "loss damage waiver is not mandatory". while I was there there were clearly several irate customers. this is apparently their MO. All I can say is if you can range a truck elsewhere , run run run as fast as you can. Steer clear from these shysters. You have been warned!! Apparently, in an effort to pad their profit, they will charge a unreasonable cleaning fee of $25-$125 if car is not as clean as when you picked it up. Tan dust was on the door sill of a black car and they called it excessively dirty. They expect you to pick up ALL paper and wrappers and put it in the trash can across the parking lot. Budget Car Rental 4475 W. Tropicana Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89103 Lack of customer service would be an understatement. The service agent, Kathryn, was condescending and treated our situation as some sort of debate; not allowing us to fully voice our problem before interrupting. We reserved a Volkswagen Jetta and were told they no longer carry Volkswagen, so they rented us a Toyota Camry instead. This was acceptable. We rented the car for a month and used it for two days before returning unsatisfied and wanting to swap out the car. 1. Drive by wire throttle was inconsistent at times; accelerating like full throttle with the slightest touch. Averaging 23 mpg with mostly highway use. Kathryn was trying to convince us this was normal. The laminated sheet they had laid out said 31/40. Unacceptable. 2. Bluetooth would drop sporadically and not reconnect until the car was turned off and back on. Big distraction. 3. The passenger's seat belt would not unclip locking you in the seat. Safety hazard. These in my opinion, are all good reasons to swap out the car. We reserved a Hyundai Elantra to be certain they had a car available to swap the Camry out. Upon arrival we were told they didn't have a car to give us in exchange for the Camry. Interesting, considering the lot was full and we had a reservation. They checked the Camry back in as opposed to swapping for the new reserved car, and charged our credit card twice, raising a red flag and getting our card declined. We asked to speak to a supervisor and were then told Kathryn was the supervisor. We asked Kathryn several questions to ascertain the best way to handle this situation before continuing, all of which she completely ignored. She charged full price for three normal days of rental, instead of adjusting the price to prorate for the month and exchanging the car. We picked the car up at 5pm on Monday and went back at 5pm on Wednesday. Is this 3 full days? 48 hours by my count. Before answering any questions she charged us and closed out the rental without discussing options. We still wanted to exchange for the reserved vehicle and rent for the month. Because of her actions, our card was red flagged which made the rental and an Uber impossible; leaving us stranded, left to walk home at 5pm. Thanks to a friend that wasn't necessary. That location has lost a possible long term customer. Our call to corporate may be equally unredeeming. They said they will investigate and get back with us; still leaving us without transportation and no means of going elsewhere until our card is cleared. read more

Typo in my reservation meant I could neither pick up my car nor edit it because Budget customer service reps told me their system would not allow me to fix the name (even though I contacted them immediately after placing order and was not picking up for 6 days) on my reservation and my only option was to cancel and pay $50 cancel fee...total scam. Horrible customer service and ridiculous policies regarding "pre paid reservation " so beware of using budget rental. read more

1 star cause I have to. Check in was a process. No such thing as fast track member cause it's more like slow track. The price was right for a 3 day rental but shit when I continuously tell u I don't need any insurance don't be slick and slide it on the contract. Crystal asked what insurance I had and I told her. Upon contract signing she told me to initial that I declined insurance and I'm responsible for all damages. Car was dirty inside and funny thing Bradda checking the car out was more concerned on damages and not the dirt inside. Upon check out I told the lady I was paying bill with my debit card. She didn't explain how much it was billed but didn't show me my debit card was ran. Got home late evening and looked at the bill and noticed I was charged $84.48 which was strange cause the car was 109. I went over the bill and saw i was charged insurance. Nice commission for u crystal. Corporate was called and so was the budget location I rented from. Survey was done but trust and believe nothing's gonna be done. OVERALL, SOLOMON IS THE BEST ON CHECK OUT. But check out was a slow process so go a lil earlier than return time. read more
