The only reason why I am putting two stars is because the movers were really nice and in the long run it is the cheapest way to go. They come and pick up your stuff. They put it all in the truck. They move it wherever you want. However, they told me one price it jumped Double. I was working with one guy on the phone (I think his name was Darrin) who seemed so nice and all of a sudden the movers were here and he was nowhere to be heard from when the price doubled. Then they told me my stuff would be delivered on the 16th. It wasn't delivered until the 28th. If you want a cheap moving company who is going to move your stuff themselves and you don't care when it eventually gets there- go with this company. But if you want your stuff to get there at a certain time, you don't want your stuff to get broke and you want your estimate to stay the same do not go with them. Also, they hired some random guy off the street to help move my stuff into my home whom was drinking beer the whole time and obviously brought my stuff into the house and I'm assuming he lives in my neighborhood because it's a dead end road, so that's kind of weird I don't need him knowing where all my stuff is and what all I have. They lied to us, sent a truck that was too small for our goods then charged double for the move. Subcontracted the movers unbeknownst to us resulting in us writing cashiers checks with the wrong name on them. Budget totally removed themselves from the situation which is not the way any business is conducted. The prime contractor is responsible for subcontractors. This whole ordeal has caused a delay of our household goods by at least a week. Stay away from Budget movers! read more

I write this to prevent someone from making the mistake we made when hiring the "services" of BUDGET MOVING & STORAGE of Lake Worth, FL (BM&S) owned by Akin. Giving them a star is far too generous. My husband and I were relocating from FL to the Northeast for my new job as a resident physician and to start our new life together! This was supposed to be a happy time! We received many quotes and were about to put a deposit with a large, reputable company when we received a call from BM&S. They were extremely polite & professional, answered all our questions, and we were particularly impressed with the product they sold to us over the phone. After extensive discussion, we were left with no reservations when giving our deposit. Unfortunately, the product sold was not the one delivered; we sincerely regret hiring this moving company. To start, our movers were 4hrs late and my husband did most of the work, from heavy lifting, to dismantling furniture, to loading. They actually asked to use our car at one point to get more supplies from Lowes. Furthermore, we had to share the truck with other customers (we were told that we would have our own truck). Additionally, they attempted to charge us almost double their initial quote at pick up. Yet another fallacy was when the 3-day transport window, became a 7 to 21 day window after possession of our belongings. Delivery was much later than promised, resulting in an obligatory flight change and delay in getting to my family in town for my graduation ceremony. Our stuff was LOADED into the first truck appropriately (ie. what you would expect of a professional moving company) under our supervision with plastic wrap, corner tape, blankets, and ratchet strapping when they left. But the DROP-OFF was a much different story. Our stuff was delivered in a completely different truck stuffed to the max with multiple customers' belongings. The goods were improperly loaded & stored, resulting in extensive damage. This was not just a scratch here or there, but smashed lamps and exploded boxes. Every corner of furniture had a gash. To add insult to injury, we never even received our dining room table or the supporting bedpost, rendering it unusable. This damage does not appear to be that of just careless movers, but it is suggestive of something much more negligent and purposeful. I am embarrassed for them when I tell you that this company did NOT even provide their movers at delivery with a dolly! My husband needed to participate as a mover yet again otherwise it would be impossible. Even more infuriating and confirming that this company is a SCAM: unknown to us, the owner decided not to charge our Amex for the 70% up front as we had authorized (with receipt) on pickup, only to DEMAND 100% in CASH at delivery, without viewing the contents of the truck. We paid under undue influence, as he was threatening to make his men leave and put my stuff into storage for a month! He was yelling and screaming so much that he had to give his sales manager, Lisa, the phone. She was more professional when it came to customer relations, but she had no power to augment anything that has just transpired. The movers were not the ones who packed the truck, worked for another moving company, and did not know Akin. They were annoyed not to have been supplied with adequate heavy-lifting equipment and embarrassed to deliver OBVIOUSLY damaged goods. One would think a truly legitimate business would be mortified and attempt to rectify our issues. Instead, they have been screening our calls and ignoring texts/emails. Evidence of damage was provided and though we received a lot of promises to reimburse and/or find our missing belongings, nothing has been delivered but headache and aggravation. I am ashamed to admit that I sincerely believed the owner (after extensive conversations) that he could resolve our issues, as a respectable business owner should. We bought into his stories that he is "hard working immigrant from Turkey" who is "trying to make [his] new company successful." He said that he is learning as he goes and this has been a very busy month for him with lots of unforeseen problems. I honestly took pity on him, knowing that my husband came from a similar background, having come from another country and he too started his own business. Fortunately, a BIG difference is that we run our company with morality and integrity. To conclude, WE GOT SCAMMED and we are the losers in the end: He got his money and we got damaged goods and lost/stolen furniture. The owner will pay to a higher power for his transgressions, but you shouldn't have to pay for them as well! All in all, I would NEVER use this company for anything beyond moving my trash. Since their website is also filled with false-advertisement, I have coined more accurate slogan: "BUDGET MOVING & STORAGE of Lake Worth, FL: We make lots of promises and cannot deliver." read more

This company is a TOTAL SCAM. They made all kinds of promises, took my deposit money, gave me a binding contract and NEVER showed up and never called or emailed me. Left me stranded to find another moving company last minute to move my belongings from MD to FL. They still have not returned any of my deposit money as of today! Update: I received my furniture 4 weeks after pick up. No reason given why my furniture was put into storage immediately after pick up. After much discussion and bargaining with the owner, my bill was $750 more than my estimate. I considered it the price I paid for mistaking a bargain for a bad decision on my part. I will never again use a moving company service. Better to hire 4 men off the street and fill a rental truck. My furniture was not in bad shape but for scratches on a low boy and a damaged door on my fridge from lying on it's side. They also lost the screws for my dining room table. The unpackers were an unprofessional group with a Penske rental truck who contract out to Budget. No clue as to what they were doing. Beware of this company. read more

Absolutely awful movers and incompetent individuals. Was moving from NC to Atlanta GA. They were contracted by Alliance Moving Services (who are also terrible, but that's another story) for my move. They were scheduled to move us on a Tue/Wed. On Tuesday, we were told that they would call us Wednesday morning for pick-up. We never received a call, and after calling them multiple times that afternoon they showed up Wednesday night without packing supplies, tape or anything. They also only accepted cash or money order-- a dead giveaway that they use illegal labor and/or don't report to the IRS. After hours they finally packed everything up. They were scheduled to drop off Thursday or Friday. After hearing nothing from them, we called Friday afternoon and was told that they would not be there on Saturday and it would be Sunday at the earliest. So we made plans for Saturday afternoon when we got a call around noon that they would be there around 5-6. We told them that we had made plans for Saturday afternoon as they told us they would not be there on Saturday. When they said they would leave and come back a week later if we didn't come, we accommodated their request. The move was terrible. If you're moving from the NC area you will probably deal with Alex or Juan. Completely incompetent managers/movers. Everything they disassembled they did not assemble on delivery (beds, sofa etc.). They did not communicate well and they were not friendly, personable or helpful at all. They clearly are involved in some shady business practices, as well. NEVER use this company. You will certainly regret it. After all, they are not even "budget" as their final charge was much greater than the original estimate. This was the WORST moving experience of my life. I was specific when requesting FULL SERVICE moving. The day before my move they called to make sure I had everything packed. Once they arrived (4 hours after my window given), they began to load my items in boxes and on the van. They could not finish everything since they were so late, so I had to postpone my move a day to be there the next day to complete the packing process. Upon arrival in my new state, my sleigh bed had a piece completely missing with various scratches all over. My matching dresser had a chunk of wood unaccounted for, as well. The worst part was my brand new 60" 3D Smart TV had been destroyed. I was told they would take care of it. After a month of dealing with them, I was told I would receive $300 to replace my $1,300 TV. However, I never even received that. DO NOT waste your time, money, energy, or valuables with this terribly run company. read more

It pains me to give this business one star since they don't even deserve that. I secured my moving date, signed an estimate TWO months in advance, and gave $100 deposit to supposedly secure my date. Three days prior to my move, I phoned to find out the time of their arrival to pick up my belongings. They indicated they would be unable to pick up my belongings on the date agreed upon AND they had fired the person I spoke with and therefore the estimate was $400 more. I had a flight arranged and had to cancel it costing me $300 on top of the $400 increase since they did not uphold their own written and signed estimated contract. I phoned my son in Connecticut and he felt this company was not reputable and decided to fly to FL, rent a truck, and move me himself. I phoned and spoke to Lisa, Office Manager, and told her that I wanted my $100 deposit back since they had screwed me up and cost me much aggravation and money. At that time, 1 day prior to my move, she indicated they would be able to arrive to move my belongings on the day I was to fly out. I declined since all other arrangements had been made. After reading the reviews, my son was correct. This is a scam business and I hope people reading these reviews find another moving company because absolutely NOTHING they promise comes to pass. I still have not received my $100 deposit back. They must make their living scamming people out of their deposits. A very sad excuse for a business. I will be contacting the state of Florida to complain and also to indicate their web site is full of lies as they are not even listed with the BBB. This was a nightmare hiring Budget Moving and storage. First it was alliance who took my deposit then they forward me to budget . On pick up date the price change double what was you agreed upon . At that time I had no option than just paying the extra because I was moving out of State and all stuff was packed and ready to go . They promised me my delivery in 3 days that took 3 weeks. Thats where another second nightmare continued stuff missing and broken items. I called the office in North Carolina the girl who answer the phone thinks she's doing me a favor . Such rude attitude after spending so much money plus my stuff missing . I spoke to Alex the manager once he had no clue of what is going on in the business. Finally after calling for weeks I was told my stuff that is missing is damage and I should file a claim. The girl gave me a number to call and filed claim turn out to be a recording line with an email address . I email my claim for months now with no response. I called back the office in North Carolina come to find out they changed there name to Easy Moving and Storage. Please Be aware of both companies they are the same . They are CROOKS.
