Truck they gave me was nice, had some dents and dings but it's a rental, it's to be expected. Truck was clean. My rental was booked for 4:00 pm on a Saturday (booked by my company) and I didn't realize they closed at 4:00. I got there at 4:15 and the gentlemen running the rentals was kind enough to basically give me a grave period while he did his inventory. He could have easily told me to kick rocks. Have another rental coming up tomorrow. Will have another review after that. Hoping for the same quality and staff interactions. read more

Run from this car rental establishment.They will lie to you refuse to refund your money when you bring a car back early.Even even though that's what they told you they would do the car was brought back they offered nothing even though it was brought back four days early. Then offered me $9 for the four days i did not use it. They said they would throw in 10 more dollars to be nice. When I told them I just keep the car so that they couldn't re-rent it and double make their money they said the contract was already closed that was no longer an option. Do not I stress do not rent from this budget. The service is horrible. It seems to only be 2 workers on staff, I am specifically speaking about Mr Nelson (Bad customer service)the said manager should not be a manager. On the day of rental I arrived 10 mins early, it was 3 customers in the lobby yet I waited 30 mins to be seen. When I was finally helped by Mr Nelson he processed my info asked no questions and gave me no info on my total just gave me receipt and key. The man didn't even come out to walk the car. Check fuel or mileage as usually done. The car was dirty but I gave it a pass, I was ready to hit the road I had an Uber drop me off. I am a party planner/caterer I had an event in Destin Fl. Halfway on my drive 3 hours in traffic was bumper to bumper so my speed decreased. The car completely shut off on me in the middle lane and the oil light popped on saying car needed oil. I was embarrassed I wasn't told anything about car having an idle shut off or about oil being needed. The car started itself, when ignition turned I rushed to the nearest store off the interstate and bought jumper cables. I couldn't just turn back. I had a paid function to attend. Car shut off 3 times in total before arriving. I kept calling Budget the entire drive. 3 calls later and 3 transfers I was told that I can speak to someone and let them take a record of the issues. I waited and phone mysteriously lost signal. I was late for my event and in my business word of mouth plays a big role. I was upset and discounted my client. Before leaving Destin I stopped at Valvoline to see if it was drivable. Car was low on everything and begged them for a top off of oils. I was to return 6/14/21 @ noon I returned it 6/14 at 8:15 a.m. I tried to explain to Mr Nelson and he was very rude stopping me mid conversation. He told me when I said the car shut off on me; "Well these things happen all of the new cars have an idle shut off." Then he tells me, "well why didn't I bring the car back." I was 6 hours away yet Mr Nelson had the audacity to tell me I should have dropped it off at the airport. Who chances driving a problematic car that does not belong to them. I lost time, I lost my integrity to my client and I lost my money spent renting the car, that I used for 12 hours max. To top it off Mr Nelson states, "well I'm still gonna have to charge you for a full day even though you are bringing it back early." Then I was 3 gallons shy of a full thank he hands me the keys and says oh by the way we charge $8 per gallon if the gas is not where they left it; do I want to go fill the tank. This place is a joke. They NEVER answer the phone, so your call goes to the national service. Ha! It doesn't get any better there. The manager Nelson is never available to talk or answer questions. I had the worst experience l have ever had in all the times l have moved in the 19 years l have lived in the continental US. We had a misundestanding with the truck return spot, and even though the truck showed no mileage, he was more than happy to remove an additional $600 from our bank account without even a glimpse of consideration for the human mistake. And the national company? Even worse! They have no policies to protect the consumer at all, and are not interested in helping. They will never get my business again, or anyone l am related to. I would give 0 stars but that isn't an option. Worst car rental "business" I have ever had the displeasure of using. Do not waste your time. They are rude and will charge you an astronomical amount of money. Every employee at this location is rude. There is no recourse. They hang up on you when you try to get help from a higher up. Every person in every department you reach is unprofessional. The Orange City manager told us to go f* ourselves!! Will never give them business again. On Friday afternoon we went online to the Budget website and reserved a truck for Saturday at 7:00 a.m. (Budget opening time). Saturday morning the employee did not show up until 7:05. She got out of her car and made eye contact with me, I nodded and she acknowledged me not at all. She proceeded to mosey on in and took another 5 minutes to turn the lights on. My wife and I went to the door when the lights came on and after another short delay the employee unlocked the door and walked away. We opened the door and she again did not acknowledge us at all. We said "Good morning" and she responded with "How can I help you?" in a tone of voice that implied one of the following: A- She was having a bad day (or week)(or life) B- We were bothering her. C- She didn't like white people D- All of the above She was rude the entire exchange and ultimately we were not able to get the truck because, although we were able to make the online reservation, "others had booked reservations before us." The $30 extra dollars we spent at U-Haul was well worth it. read more

Rented a truck, received confirmation the truck was ready. Packed our entire house up. Went to pick up the truck and they didn't even have said truck. How does this happen? No calls or anything. Worst customer service I ever experienced, reserved 3 days in advance and when I showed up 8am no car, they said they could get me one by 11am, or put me in an upgrade at $10 more, the employee who said he was the manager was rude and not at all concerned with me. I called Budget when I got to my destination, but nothing was done until I went on Facebook, eventually refunded my up charge, but that was 2 emails and 2 phone calls later, when I turned it in in Sunrise Florida, the employees were nice, but didn't have cars either, there were several customers there with the same issues. First time customer. Got a truck with my dad. We picked it up and had a literal conversation with the manager and his daughter about not paying for an additional driver, as I would be paying but not driving. They said yes and that he would not need to pay, just present his id. When returning the truck, we saw they had charged us $14 for an additional driver. When confronted about it, they were strangely stubborn and refused to resolve the issue. They said it was very clear and that they would not refund us. If it were clear, we wouldn't be in this situation. The manager was on speakerphone with us and definitely raising his voice. I don't understand why it's an issue to refund $14 when they made a mistake and we were clearly upset. They are rude, jerks, and lack any sense of customer service. There are plenty of truck rental locations, I suggest you go somewhere where they care about the customer and not just money in their pockets. read more
