Should be 0 stars. On the day of our drive home (1200 miles) we caught a flat. With kids & over 100 degree weather & honestly not knowing better, we got the tire replaced to continue on our way. I called budget to let them know - they tell us we should have called emergency roadside service. I apologize and explain we are on our drive home and made a decision quickly with the kids, heat, location and consideration to the rim itself. They tell us to send photos and receipt so a refund can be issued. I send details and call customer service. They tell me, no notes from emergency roadside are in there approving said refund. I call emergency roadside back and HOLD for the note to be added. I follow up with customer service on the phone and via email and receive confirmation note was added. I WAIT 5 business days AFTER returning the vehicle and follow up. I get the run around and have to submit photos yet again. I am then denied the refund I was already promised. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND this company to anyone. I will be doing a story time on this with my followers as well. I settled for a different one, but it was out of necessity not choice. The car was fine, but return was the same poor care. I had a very disappointing experience with Budget at the Orlando Airport. After checking in and receiving my rental assignment, I went to the vehicle only to find another customer already loading luggage into it. The same vehicle had apparently been assigned to both of us. I returned to the Fastbreak counter to explain the situation. Instead of apologizing or trying to help, the employee abruptly snatched the paperwork out of my hand and stated that my vehicle had been double-booked. The interaction was unprofessional and discourteous. I then spoke with a supervisor, who reassigned me to another small SUV. Given the inconvenience caused by Budget's mistake, I asked if there was a larger vehicle available as a courtesy upgrade. I was told there was nothing available, despite multiple larger 7-passenger SUVs sitting in the lot. Mistakes happen, but how they're handled matters. A sincere apology, professional customer service, and an effort to make things right would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, none of that happened. The reason I signed up with them is for the fast break program but that doesn't work anymore. First, the line was very long with a wrapping line that took 45 minutes. We had a reservation and declined fuel and extra insurance. We were asked to initial the screen (which didn't display what we were agreeing to) - we didn't get a receipt or any paperwork. The credit card charge was $180 more than the reservation. I can see why this place has such low stars. They really need to upgrade their check in system like Hertz or Alamo where you can directly walk to the garage to pick up your car with lining up at the counter at the airport. Even their "fast pass" is not fast and requires 24-48 hrs to pre register according to one staff and it only takes you to the shorter line at the garage instead of the longer line inside the airport. The vehicle had a very strong, unpleasant odor. This made the week-long rental period uncomfortable. No replacement vehicles were available. I rented a car through Costco Travel with a quoted price of $165. I returned the car with a full tank and paid a toll in cash due to a navigation error trying to avoid it. Beware TOLLS ARE EVERYWHERE. There was no option for a receipt, just a gate that lifted after I paid. Days later, I was charged over $100 in extra fees, including $65 for toll transponder usage I never opted into or used. Despite disputing the charge, filing complaints, and even getting Costco involved, the company refuses to remove it. The other fee was for a tank refill for which I had a receipt, and it still took a ton of effort to get the fee removed. This is the definition of a bait and switch. Save your time, money, and sanity and go elsewhere. Budget, you've been reported to the Better Business Bureau and the State of Florida. read more

This location engages in predatory and deliberately deceptive sales practices. When I arrived at the counter I verbally and explicitly declined both the collision damage waiver and the fuel/gas waiver -- not once, but clearly and directly to the staff member assisting me. I was then handed a contract and led to believe I was signing solely to confirm my rental dates. At no point was I told these charges had been added, nor were they pointed out to me. I only discovered both unauthorized charges after reviewing my final bill which came out to nearly $800. When I raised this concern I was told that because I signed the contract it was legally binding. I have since read dozens of recent reviews from this past week alone and customers are reporting the exact same experience over and over again. This is not a mistake. This is intentional. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Florida Attorney General's Office, and the Federal Trade Commission.
