We waited just over 2 hours & at the counter. The lady at the counter couldn't check & see what we would be charged. There was one $300+/-charge that came up on the credit card machine that she explained was a security deposit & to call Avis with questions. The charge should have been $200, but came up $300 and she couldn't explain why. In the parking garage, Josh was the employee working. There were marks on the hood & front area around the hood of the car he was giving us. I was worried about being held responsible for this "damage". Josh explained it was a new vehicle & we wouldn't be charged. When looking inside the vehicle, the car was full of trash, we asked about where charging ports were located & Josh told us to go to a gas station & pick up an adapter. At the garage gate, the wonderful female employee (not being sarcastic, she was great), notated the hood & front-end marks on the "pink slip". She notated that the car only had 4000 miles & that "Josh" hadn't even taken the time to put gas in the car! It had less than 1/8th of a tank of gas. This sweet lady explained to us to take a picture of the "pink slip" that most likely when we return the vehicle, the employees will make that "pink slip" disappear & we would be charged for items that we should not be charged for. We were given a dirty rental car, with trash (cups, sunglasses, receipts, & used band aids), hood & front-end marks, & NO FUEL! Terrible customer service. Upon the end of our trip, we made sure to put more fuel in the vehicle than it had when we picked it up. Later that day two separate charges came through on our credit card. One over $300 & another just under $50. Since returning the vehicle I have had daily emails with Avis disputing these unexpected charges, some of which are for fuel. This has been the most disappointing and frustrating transaction of our trip & we won't be using Avis again. To say we are frustrated is an understatement. My advice is to look into other car rental companies. It seems like such a racket with all these crazy fees and surcharges for everything. Somehow, read the fine print before getting to the counter.

It was almost 1 AM so I had no choice but to Uber to my hotel and then Uber to my meetings the next morning! I spent more on Ubers that morning than the rental had cost! After Uber back to the airport, they finally had a car for me and when I turned it in the Avis counter clerk told me that I could get some compensation and gave me his manager's card! I wrote Miss Espinosa an email and included screenshots of my bank account and Uber charges. She wrote back to ask me for my contract number I sent it to her and she GHOSTED ME! Never again!

    Zero stars. The man who works in this location should be let go. This location should be shut down…read more We had a pickup at 1 pm on July 6. The location was closed. We had to call and the customer service cancelled the reservation and created a new booking for us. I had to pay 15 usd more and also drive 45 miles to pick up a car from a different location. I had a flight to catch the next day at Chicago. As part of the booking I asked for all applicable insurance. Guess what they just gave me ldw insurance. I went to the location 45 miles down and I Asked what does it cover they said it covers everything. Guess what didn't bother to explain missing coverage. Then when I rear ended , now they say oh sorry you didn't take the liability insurance. When call customer service about anything they can't do anything. Go to the location or figure yourself out. Worst rental company staffed with college kids who don't give a damn. Never rent from Avis or Budget . Period. I shouldn't be made responsible for insurance misinformation. I want Avis to own it. If their staff are not willing to give accurate information then you shouldn't be held responsible

I stated that I didn't have a credit card and asked if I could pay with a check or money order. He told me that since he ran my debit card, I was now declined and unable to rent the vehicle. He wrote down a phone number for me to call to get my refund. I paid $250 two month ago for a vehicle I wasn't able to rent because I refuse to own a credit card. Why do they accept debit cards for the reservation but won't let you actually rent the car? And making the customer deal with a customer service line to receive a refund after they just got told that their plans are null and void?!?! Insane. It's been 48 hours and I still have not received the refund. I will never rent from nor recommend to anyone to rent or at deal with Budget car rental. The clerk behind the counter did not care whatsoever either.
