I've visited locations throughout the state and none of them compare to the downtown Indy location. Brock is the reason why I will drive out of my way for this location. He's always quick, efficient, and friendly. He's got great customer service so it doesn't surprise me that the rest of his team does as well. Booked a minivan for Friday 9-2-2022 on 8-30-22. I go to pick it up today and when I get there the employee said "my manager wants to speak with you". In my head I wondered about what he wants to talk about. He comes up to my girlfriend and I and mentions that I can not rent a minivan because I am under the age of 25. The most I could rent is a vehicle with up to 5 seats even though online it states how I should be able to rent out a minivan. I will say the website mentions "at most locations" so I suppose it's up to each location what I can and can not rent. I hate the fact that I talk to other people and they mention I can rent out a minivan. But what I REALLY HATE is that I was told this when I pick up. Worst customer service ever! First when my wife went to pick up her car even though she had a reservation, they said they didn't have one for her. After driving across town to a location that had a car, making her late for her appointment, she was off. When she gets to St Louis the next morning she wakes up to a flat tire. Did Enterprise offer to bring her a car? Nope. Did they offer to help her in any manner? Nope. After she waits 2 hours to have the tire changed she drives to another location as she has been told she has to get a new car. I picked up a rental car from here today for a work trip. I arrived 45 minutes before they closed for the day and they were quite busy. You'll find this location tucked halfway between Monument Circle (to the west) and Indianapolis City Market (to the east). The central location made it much easier to pick up my car and hit the road versus heading 20 minutes out to the airport. The branch manager and his teammate, Josh, were the only two on staff today. I have to hand it to them for their "cool as a cucumber" demeanor and solid customer service despite a lineup of customers that were less than easy to please. It was almost comical to watch how concerned a few of these customers were with the type of car they would be receiving despite what their original reservation had been. I have done some work with them for a corporate account on and off for the last few years. Since their location moved and they don't have overnight drop-off, I began using the Speedway location. However! They saved my butt last week. We made a mistake with our van order and it never happened, meaning our rental for a 20-person road trip was screwed - you can't make this mistake during IPS Fall Break because enterprise is all booked up! The speedway location didn't have anything so I called Market St (downtown location). Lo and behold, this angel picked up the phone and made it happen!!! They got the vehicles arranged and our trip was only delayed by 3 hours. Their staff was amazing!!! I did 4 stars instead of 5, only because I wish there were overnight options. Also if you do morning drop-offs on a work day, that garage is too busy. Enterprise staff works as quickly as possible, but also non-enterprise folks are pulling in to park there for downtown and there's a lot of honking and oooh boy did it make my anxiety flare. read more

I usually rent from an Enterprise about a mile from my home, but i was leaving from my office in the City County Building which made this location perfect. It was a Noon on a sunny, Friday afternoon. I reserved my car the prior week and discovered that I saved money with the Weekend Special ($14.99 per day at 300 miles) than I did with 2 days unlimited miles! It was crazy busy when I walked in but the Staff was cordial and working expeditiously to get us all on our way. After checking my D/L and confirming that I wanted to use the card I reserved the vehicle with I was on my way to the BUSY garage attached to the rental center. Derrick went over the car with me to make sure there was no damage, asked about insurance, blah, blah, blah, gave me options concerning the gas level return, etc. Since I was headed to Cincinnati for some mental health shopping and a visit to Pappadeaux I opted for the .20 per mile overage rather than the more than $10 per day daily rate. My car was a cute, red Nissan Versa, clean inside and out but the WINDOWS were very smeared and cloudy! I must say it handled well on the road and had a little kick to it! The return of the vehicle on Monday morning was fast and friendly. I carefully checked for all my belongings before returning the car, oops, almost left my famous "Reserved" sign! After a long day, it's 10 p.m.----NO GARAGE DOOR OPENER!! I called at 7:05 the next morning, the vehicle has been rented :( However, there was a BOX of door openers---guess this is a normal happening, but none were mine. The driver was called and message was left and as of 7 p.m. no response. I was informed that the vehicle is due back tomorrow and I would receive a call if the opener is still overhead in the vehicle. Great customer service. I had a rental for a substantial amount of time due to an automotive accident and they provided great service. My rental occurred during the winter so there were several times were my electronic gas tank door would either malfunction or freeze close and they were quick to remedy the situation. They also fixed my frozen windshield wiper fluid system when Mother Nature decided to take temperature into the negatives. Things to know: 1. They are open on some days at least until 7 so that gives you a little flexibility If you need help with the rental or you need to switch it out after work. 2. When dealing with this specific branch always re-check details of your fees and receipts. Ask them to repeat and explain what they present to you. Enterprise is a good company to deal with but there are inconsistencies with how some staff 'interpret' their policies. This is only my 2nd time renting from this specific branch; while the previous transaction experience was excellent, this time around I was surprised by how some of it went down. First, they required a $200 refundable deposit on top of the final cost even though I plugged in my credit card info online 3 days before pick up and despite my immaculate record with them. I have never been required to pay a deposit by Enterprise the previous hundred times I rented a vehicle with them, and tacking on the deposit doubled my bill. This deposit then magically turned into added insurance/protection which I declined but which they insisted was already built into the deposit. Uhm, what? Next, I checked my receipt and they had indeed included insurance protection. I called them to clarify this and they admitted that is was some kind of miscommunication on their part. They instructed me to go to any Enterprise branch to have staff there inspect their rental to ensure that there is no damage and they will give the vehicle a clean bill of health. Okay, it's their fault but they make me work to correct it. Uh-huh. Finally, I called an hour before the vehicle was due to be returned and requested a 1-hour extension which was still well within their business hours. In other words, no one was going to do any overtime to wait for some clueless client. The response was sure I can extend but that will be $14 extra. I have never done business with any other Enterprise branch that charged an hourly fee for extensions because vehicle rental is charged by the day. In summary, I repeat what I wrote earlier: do not take anything at face value, ask the staff to clarify, go over each item on the receipt, ask lots of questions. I made a reservation for 24 days for a full size car. It was starting 12 noon today. I arrived there at 3pm and the lady at the desk told me they had given my car away. They didn't call my cell and they didn't leave a message. When I asked for her supervisor the woman said, I am the branch manager. I asked for her manager, she gave me a number that went into a voicemail who didn't have a greeting. She did not offer any other car or check with other close branches if they had a car. She did not offer any alternatives. She didn't empathize and just didn't care. No where in the reservation process did Enterprise mention that they will hold the car only for 2 hrs. I am sure if I went there at 12.01 they would have said, we are sorry you are late. They simply didn't have a car to rent given it is Friday. I called enterprise corporate number and the woman on the phone was a lot nicer. She said she couldn't help it but would escalate to regional office. Amat came into the front office exactly at 7:00AM. Myself and 2 others were waiting and the he apologized; they were cleaning up the cars and getting them ready this morning. Amar was calling all of the customers by name which is a professional gesture- appreciated. When checking in, I realized I forgot my driver license. Luckily I live downtown and was able to order an uber really quick and grab it. Amar went above expectations when sympathizing with me but explaining their policy, offering me a water (it was a humid morning), and offered to hold all my luggage so I didn't have to carry it around. Initially I asked Amar if they kept my DL on file and asked if he'd let me pass just this one time- I rent frequently for work. He was aligned with his company policy and didn't let me proceed. When I arrived and told the person working at the desk, he acted as though this was a huge inconvenience. This enterprise is on my list of top 3 BEST customer service experiences. I first of all signed up for my rental car online. It was pretty simple... I put my information in and signed up for a mini van... I know I know - when one gets a van it takes your swag down about 4 points... UNLESS your a mom then you actually gain points for renting a van! So anyways, I go to this location and the staff was nicely dressed and actually offered me a donut that was on the counter - and I absolutely took one since I didn't have breakfast! That was SUPER kind of them... As if I couldn't get any better - all they asked me for was a drivers license. That's it? I brought all my paperwork in... But they only needed a drivers license. Then as I was at the counter, the employees asked me which van I wanted - the possibilities were endless! He then asked me if I wanted Tv's due to having small children... My answer: absolutely! This is a small spot to rent from which has its plus side, usually no smaller vehicles so upgrades a plenty!! Staff is always friendly and vey efficient when renting or returning. It can get busy at times, especially first thing in the morning and late in the evening which can mean you'll be waiting your turn for a minute or two. Nifty Car rental came to our rescue! After prepaying for a car from Budget rental car, we were informed 30 minutes before our reserved pick up time that they did not have a car for us or any car that could fit 5 people until later in the day. We were beyond frustrated since we had planned to get an early start to visit a plantation. Our concierge was able to secure a car from Nifty. A very friendly woman named Donna picked us up at our hotel. She was professional, kind and knowledgeable about the area. It was a short drive to Nifty where we picked up the SUV. Rachel handled the paperwork- she was also very friendly and efficient. I agree with another reviewer that the cars are ok, not top notch. But perfectly fine for our needs. I recently rented from Enterprise--they had a great weekend rate, $67 for Friday--Monday (I ended up paying $75 because I got a cool, red Pontiac G6 instead of a bottom-of-the-line). They even offered to let me have the gas in the tank at their rate, which they purposely price below the lowest gas station around. My whole bill for the weekend was about $89 including gas. Four out of five of my traveling companions DID have this happen to them with other companies, so beware! Sadly, I must report that the free airport return is not being offered anymore, and they want an extra $75 for this. Compare the costs carefully on-airport to off. We got downtown with our hotel shuttle, and tried to get back via IndyGo transit's Green Line ($7.50 per person, 20 minutes) but ran out of time. Our taxi back from downtown was over $30! There is a city bus from downtown (#8) but it takes 40 minutes after you get on, so plan waaaay ahead. read more

This last week, I went to rent a car from this location. I have been renting cars from this location for the past year and a half and have always been treated well by its staff. However, for this past rental, the employee who greeted me did not inform me that the terms of the rental agreement between my company and Enterprise has changed and that all personal travels will now not include LDW as part of the rental. However, business travels will still include LDW as part of the rental. I travel a lot between my home (located in another state) and Indianapolis, which is where I work. As a result, from Monday-Friday I'm in Indy for work and on the weekend I drive home to check on my apartment and get a change of clothing. As such, I think that the weekend travel home will be deemed business as the only reason why I'm in Indy to begin with is because of work. So when I went to get my rental car for this weekend in Indy, I didn't think anything would change, as I've had no problems with Enterprise previously. The employee who greeted me as asked me why I was traveling. I told him that I was going home and then coming back to Indy on Sunday for another week of work. After some other small talk, someone else escorted me to my rental and before signing stated that my rental will no longer include LDW as part the agreement as my rental is deemed a personal rental. I was very surprised by the news, as no one told me about this when I checked in. So I asked him why this was the case, he stated that because I was going home, this is deemed a personal rental. That was where they lost me on the logic as 1) I was in Indy in the first place because of work and 2) I'm coming back to Indy on Sunday for work. I tried to explain that I need to go home because I needed a change of cloth, but I would be back on Sunday for work, which would make this rental deemed more for business reasons. From their point of view, only the rental on Sunday (from home to work) is business, but not the other way around. I was so frustrated with them not accepting my viewpoint that I canceled my reservation onsite. During this entire exchange, my friend and colleague was with me and also tried to explain to them why this rental should be for business reason, but to no success. It took me another couple of hours to find another rental car with a different rental company so I could drive home. A word of warning to all business travelers, if they ask you for why you are renting, please do not try to make conversation with them. Just tell them that it's for business so you can get all of the benefits included as part of the master agreement between enterprise and your company. Also, my friend and I will avoid renting from enterprise again. I've never had to justify with any rental company the reason for my rental, and I do not intend to do that in the future. It's nice that this place is conveniently located downtown but that is also a negative for them. Since they are downtown, their car selection is pretty small. I've never had any issues with renting from Enterprise, but right now I'm having a really difficult time getting a $15 refund from them. I was charged $5/day to add my boyfriend as an additional driver - well, Enterprise policy is that there is no fee in Indiana for domestic partnerships. So, I request the refund and it's now day 25 of not being refunded. I've called and the staff assures me it's being processed but 25 days is excessive! I also tried sending an email from Enterprise.com and the service appears to be broken. Once clicking submit it just sits there and eventually times out after about 10 minutes. It goes without saying, I'm aggravated! I guess as long as the charges are 100% correct the company is fine, I've never had an issue at the branch, but corporate/financial blows a big one! read more

Tiny office, great people. We worked with Dominic and he did a great job. I traded out our rental mid-week after I discovered that I did not like tiny sup-compact cars. Great location. Super nice people. The car preformed well. I was in and out quickly. My only comment, which is true of many Enterprise Rent-A-Car agencies, is that the cars could be cleaner and I would like it if they consistently came with a full tank of gas.
