They put you on hold as soon as the phone rings without even speaking to you. You will be on hold FOREVER! Also, make sure to check your checking account. They withdrew an additional $50 along with the $50 deposit. I had to call them (on hold for 45 minutes before they answered) to get an answer why they charge me twice and they couldn't give me an explanation and said they will refund my account. In the past I received terrible customer service, vehicles as well so I haven't rented from this location over 5 years now I usually go to 409 E Cleveland Ave Newark, DE 19711 . I was recently in a car accident, my car isn't get fixed at the body shop cross the street , the insurance company is paying for the rental. So the enterprise representative told me my closest pick up was this one in Bear . First the drive was late picking me up , than didn't have the Audacity to get out his car and ring my bell or call my phone he proceeded to beep his horn. When I got in the truck I asked him why didn't he call my phone , him beeping his horn was rude . He said the office said they didn't have my number and to beep his horn . So I just left it alone , when I got to the office , one of the gentlemen that worked there asked me my name and Licensing pulled my information up on his computer and read me my phone without me even telling him it so that was a lie on the drive side . My main complaint now is Its been over 2 weeks and Im still in a rental car and for the past 4 days the tire light keep coming on , I put air in it and it still keep doing the same thing. I called the office today to tell them my problem, the representative at this local office seem un willing to help it took him some time to found my contact, than I told him about the tire problem he said there isn't any available cars and nothing he can do . I been at other location in other states where even if your reservation car has been took for some reason. The associates at the location will tell me they will call around to found me a car . I asked him what about other location he said I can call myself to see if they have anything , so I just hang up . The fact of the matter Enterprise is a National company , beside all the business they get , to treat any customer as if you're doing them a favor and not getting paid for your services is bad business and customer services all around . In the past renting a car in this location I had to drive all the way to philadelphia to Castleton Avenue to switch a car out , the manager at that location was so helpful and welcoming towards every customer not just me . The worst thing is to get a flat tire and having to wait for someone to help you , this isn't my vehicle this is terrible. I really don't care how close Im ! I will never use to location again, if the services was like this at all enterprise I will take my business to other rental companies .. Update I called the days ago 9/11/18 and asked them if they can tell me when another vehicle is available so I can switch out because of the tire lights and they never contact me back, when they said they was its now 9/15/18 ..

    Very poor local customer experience followed up by poor national customer service…read more I made a last-minute reservation (12:30 PM for a 2:00 PM) same-day Saturday rental. The Website showed office hours until 2, so I reserved a car for that time. I hailed an Uber, and there were some logistical problems, so I tried several times to ring the office to inform them that I would be cutting it close, but could they hold the reservation. No one answered, so I let it ring through to national customer service, who informed me that they couldn't do anything, but I should just keep calling because maybe they were just really busy. I never did connect with the local office, though I arrived at 1:55 to find the gates were closed. William, my Uber driver who ensured I got there by 2, graciously drove around to see if there might be another entrance. [#HINT: This is proper customer experience.] We saw none. I paid him over $20 for an Uber to the location, and he waited for me to make one last phone call to the local office. Still no reply. There was no evidence of movement in the office area, and it didn't look like there had been anyone there for a while. I hailed another ride, and William and I headed back to the hotel, which during the return trip, I called Daniel national customer 'service', which is stretching the term 'service' quite liberally. After pulling up my reservation details, Danel astutely informed me that the local time was 2:01, so of course, they were closed. It didn't matter when I told him we spend the previous minutes trying to get in and not spend it calling the service desk. Daniel offered to make a reservation at another location, 'near' my hotel, but I declined. He apologised and said there was nothing he could do because I called after the location was closed, but he asked if there was anything else he could do to help. Knowing that I was already out $20-something bucks and was on my way to another $20-some odd for the return trip, and suggested he could reimburse me for that, given the inconvenience. No way. No how. I rented a car from @Enterprise. They even picked me up from my hotel. No @Uber necessary. Perhaps @Avis_Support could learn a lesson or two from Enterprise, if not some manners. Interestingly enough, whilst Avis' site lists Saturday hours ending at 2 PM, Yelp shows them closing at noon. Perhaps Yelp is on to something. If this is the case, then whoever is responsible for maintaining hours of operation needs to get with it.

My most recent trip involved an extended rental but then had complications and a change in return date. They even worked with us on what was supposed to be a prepaid, nonrefundable contract when my elderly travel companion had to be brought home suddenly. Real human beings with a great attitude. Five stars!

A small car or compact SUV simply would not work for medical reasons which is why I went in 5 days in advance to make a reservation specifically for what I needed. Otherwise, why bother to even make "RESERVATION" to begin with? When I got there, the female at the desk which was the same person who made the origional reservation, offerred me a Kia Soul which far too small for what I needed. When I asked about the misunderstanding, she basically stonewalled me with a generic answer, "Yes, but we can only offer you what we have" I spoke with a second person who basically told me I could speak with the manager and walked away. When I spoke with the manager, I could tell by his tone, he did not want to be bothered. He offerred me a rental that was over at Firestone being worked on but never answered me when asked if he could actually get it to me. He walked away and started taking other phone calls as if I wasn't even there. Pathetic!! WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A RESERVATION?! A reservation is a reservation....RIGHT? These 3 people at this location were the most unqulified, unprofessional and unprepared representatives I have seen in a long time and I rent cars periodically for various reasons. Avoid this location at all costs

My car insurance paid for most of my rental. The person who helps me behind the counter was aware of my rental order. I saw a Jeep Wrangler in the parking lot, and I ask her if it was available. I drove home in this rental vehicle! It was quick service picking up the car. Upon return this vehicle, the guy who was behind the counter was dressed very fashionably, and his personality was very friendly, too. I was in and out of there in just two minutes. I always wanted to drive a Jeep Wrangler, Hyundai Tucson, and a Porsche SUV. I hope I luck out again and one of the other car is available for rental here when I need to get my car fixed again.

I arrived at this Hertz at 9:00 AM to confirm a reservation for a 7-passenger van that I had made earlier. There was only one employee working, with a line of about 10 people, and the line was barely moving. I waited for over an hour just to speak to someone. When I finally got to the counter, I explained to the clerk how important it was for me to have a 7-passenger van. He assured me the vehicle would be available for my 12:00 PM pickup. However, when I returned at 12:00 PM, I was told by the same clerk that no 7-passenger vehicles were available. I was shocked. I explained that I had come earlier specifically to avoid this exact situation. The only solution they offered was a smaller 5-passenger van -- and to make things worse, they tried to charge me more for it. The customer service was terrible. At 12:00 PM, there were only two people in line, including myself, but I still waited 30 minutes to be helped. When I expressed my frustration, the manager tried to blame me for making the reservation on the same day -- which was exactly why I came in earlier that morning, to ensure everything would be ready. This location is completely disorganized, unprofessional, and does not value its customers. Never again.
