Customer service. I was supposed to be picked up at a collision center but that never happened. I had someone drop me off and here I sit with several other customers waiting for cars. Absolute worst experience and service I have ever had with a car rental company!! I went in 5 days ago and requested a rental which I SPECIFICALLY reserved an SUV such as a Jeep Grand Cherokee or equivalent. A small car or compact SUV simply would not work for medical reasons which is why I went in 5 days in advance to make a reservation specifically for what I needed. Otherwise, why bother to even make "RESERVATION" to begin with? When I got there, the female at the desk which was the same person who made the origional reservation, offerred me a Kia Soul which far too small for what I needed. When I asked about the misunderstanding, she basically stonewalled me with a generic answer, "Yes, but we can only offer you what we have" I spoke with a second person who basically told me I could speak with the manager and walked away. When I spoke with the manager, I could tell by his tone, he did not want to be bothered. He offerred me a rental that was over at Firestone being worked on but never answered me when asked if he could actually get it to me. He walked away and started taking other phone calls as if I wasn't even there. Pathetic!! WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A RESERVATION?! A reservation is a reservation....RIGHT? These 3 people at this location were the most unqulified, unprofessional and unprepared representatives I have seen in a long time and I rent cars periodically for various reasons. I hurt my wrist and needed to drop the car off to a different location and was told I couldn't do it now I have to try to reschedule mydoctors appointment so I can drive 34 minutes away when there is a enterprise right up the street from me. They are so I don't understand why it matters where I drop the car off at they're so inconsiderate here . read more

Extremely disappointing experience. First time trying to rent a car. When I called for the reservation everything appeared to go smoothly. I even offered to pay over the phone. I was told that it would be fine that I pay at pick up. When I arrived I was first told that I could not use the card I had to pay with because it did not have a chip and on top of that there was a $200 dollar deposit along with the rental fee. Now as I told the rental agent on the phone that it was my first time renting a car, one would think that these two very important items would be mentioned by the so called professionals. They were anything but! So after spending the $40 for the taxi to get to their place of business, I was left with no car and a lack luster apology. Would give 0 stars if possible and will never recommend or do business with Enterprise rent a car. read more

Following a deer collision that disabled my car, I rented a vehicle from the Elkton office of Enterprise on the evening of January 30. The vehicle I rented reeked of cleaning product to the point that I experienced a bad allergic reaction. I requested a new car and was instructed to return the vehicle to Enterprise's Easton location as it was the only site that had available repacmenet vehicles. I returned the car to the Easton loaction in less than 36 hours from rental initiation. An inspection performed at turn-in revealed no damage. Subsequently, Enterprise's Damage unit emailed me that I was being charged for unspecified damage to the car I had received in Elkton - which was returned to the Easton office in the same condition that I had received it. After great difficulty in attempting to confirm the nature of perported damage with the Easton office - I was advised that the reported damage was a windshield wiper - that had not been used in the entire time the car was in my possession. I discussed this with the manager of the Elkton office who noted that it was clear that I did not cause the damage, that the issue was due to the failure of the Easton office to complete necessary vehicle maintenance, and that he would personally reverse the damage charge. It has been several weeks since he promised to do so and I continue to be dunned by the Damage Claim unit in Kansas at which - like other Enterprise offices - it is virtualy impossible to reach an agent by phone. After another lengthy on-hold exoerience, I finally reconnected to the manager of the Elton office who advised he would have the Damage Unit send the claim to him for payment. I had a last minute business trip to NYC and wasn't looking forward to the 3+ hour drive. Booked with Enterprise in Elkton MD and was given a GREAT vehicle, and was not charged extra. The guys there were awesome. Later found out it was going to last an extra day ... no problem! Blown away by how easy it was, as I have booked many cars from many places. Thanks guys! read more

Reserved vehicle 2 weeks in advance. Going out of state. Went to pick up and told car was not available! They tried to get me to take a van. Their non-chalant attitude was horrible. Will never attempt to rent from this location again. Will rethink the whole Enterprise if this is representative of their customer service. read more

My commendations to Casey Simmons and her staff at the Elkton Enterprise office. The Philadelphia National Rental Car facility at the Philly Airport really messed up my rental and would do nothing to rectify it. I was totally 'stuck' 50 miles from the airport with a non working car until Casey and her staff agreed to help me out of an impossible situation. Can't thank her and her staff enough.....professional, caring and empathetic toward a customer. I certainly can't say anything close to that for the Philadelphia Airport National Rental Car location and the lack of service they provided......or for the National Car Rental Roadside Assistance 'service' which never materialized. read more

I've rented cars from this location several times in the past with zero problems. Today however I drive to pick up the vehicle I've rented to find out, you can't leave your vehicle in there parking lot. What a waste of time. A quick phone call on there part would of been an easy fix. So much for costumer service. read more

I rented a car at this location on Aug. 31, 2015. They tried to give me a filthy, dirty inside and out. My car would NOT have been that dirty if I didn't wash it for a month. I refused to take it and they gave me another car. The cruise control didn't work in it. read more

This is the worst experience I've ever dealt with in a Rent-a-Car company. I rented a vehicle from the Elkton Maryland agency on Thursday afternoon. When they took me out to the car I right away stated after he open the door how it smelled. You could smell a strong cigar ashtray smell from the car. He came back with a type of deodorizer he sprayed on the carpets which only made it worse. The car was filthy besides it's smelling like a cigar ashtray. We drove the car home and then the next day Friday I drove it to work. The stench was so powerful that I actually got sick with a headache and had to take sick leave and drive home. I tried to call the agency back out to pick the car up because I didn't want it any longer since I could not drive it. After numerous times and nobody ever answered. I tried again Saturday morning at no avail. Finally I called the 1 877 number to the corporate and a lady tried to call the Elkton Enterprise agency and could not get a hold of anybody as well. She then referred me to filing a complaint. I did sell and at 9:30am I was told somebody from the regional area will be back in touch with me. I told him I want somebody to come pick this car up because I don't want to continue to pay for something and I want a refund of my money. After 4 hours nobody showed up I got a friend to drive the rent a car back to the Elkton Enterprise agency. It was 1 and nobody was there. We drop the keys off and left. I called the 1-877 number to make sure they documented that I turn the car in because I do not want to be charged for another day. This is outrageous I was charged $158 for 3 days for a car that was messy inside and reaped so bad that it burned my eyes and caused me to have a headache. Now I'm sitting 26 hours later and still nobody called me back as a result of my complaint from the regional office. I feel Enterprise as a long way to go in order to correct this. No apologies nothing were given but I am $158 short Now for car I only drove about 25 miles. I would prefer to give you a negative 1 or a 0 but I have to select something. I will never use them again!! read more

Enterprise in Elkton, MD went above and beyond to help us out. We needed a rental after a car accident and between the insurance company and Enterprise we had a rental within a day. The staff is very courteous and friendly, they made sure you were completely comfortable with your rental selection and took the time to answer any questions you had. When I rented the truck (they had no cars available, only a SUV or a truck), the customer service was nice and so was the driver that brought me to Enterprise. Luckily I paid extra for the additional insurance, which people told me I shouldn't have, but when I received a call from Enterprise the morning after I returned the truck, I was sure glad I did. I used the truck to drive to & from work for 2 days. The day after I returned it, Enterprise called asking how a hole got in the bed of the truck! I had no idea! He said you couldn't see it from the outside, you had to be under the truck looking up! So when I looked over the truck before renting it, the hole wasn't obvious nor could it be seen and since I didn't climb under the truck I didn't see it. He said a hole was completely thru metal of the bed of the truck. Their claims department sent me a letter asking what happened, I called & told them I DID NOT put a hole in the truck! He said it was thousands of dollars worth of damage, but since I paid for the extra coverage, it would be covered and not cost me or my insurance company anything. Had I not gotten that extra insurance, someone else damaging the truck would have been my problem! The truck wasn't completely clean when I got it, so I don't think they looked it over prior to renting it to me. I was very upset! The back window had smear marks on it like a child or pet may have done that and there was a layer of dirt on the outside of the truck, but it was late in the day and I was in a hurry to get home and they were closing soon, so I didn't say anything. I wish they had thoroughly looked at and under the truck before they rented it back out, but they sure checked it out after I rented it. It caused me added stress...my car was unexpectedly put in the shop due to a mistake at the Jiffy Lube in Wilmington, DE. My opinion, get the extra insurance (app. $20.00) if you rent a vehicle. read more
