Reserved a car in the morning for pick up at 1:00pm. Got there early and waited in line for 30 min. Only one person working the counter and at least 7 people in line. Once I reached the front they told me they couldn't honor my reservation because they "ran out of cars." As I was in line another employee brought at least 3 sets of keys up advising the desk agent they received another return. I asked about all the cars returned while I was in line and the agent told me they didn't receive any cars. I just left. Waste of time. read more

We arrived early because there's generally a line to rent a car so we've been sitting out here since about 0:820. Even another worker has been sitting out here waiting just to get into work. Not very impressed that the opening employee shows up 10 minutes late and then park the car right in front of the door at customer parking. I understand it might not be her fault she may have just been called into work I know things happen I work for an airline myself, was super annoying is calling budget to see if this place was even going to open today and not being able to get anyone on the phone to answer that the store was really going to open at all. This review is for the Budget at the Fort Lauderdale airport. They will rip you off! Make sure to review your invoice carefully when you are done. I returned my car with a full tank of gas and earlier than it was due. There was no one at the counter at 3:30AM so I followed the instructions on the signs to leave the keys in the car. When I received the email receipt, they tried to charge me for retuning the car a day late and a fuel fee. Lying bastards! I took pictures of the car all around when I returned it as well as the dashboard to show the fuel gauge. Your phone will have the date and time stamp of the pictures. I immediately called them to dispute those charges. They claim they will remove them. They had me listed as driving the car only 15 miles when in fact I drove it over 400 miles. What morons. Both employees I spoke to were rude and unprofessional. When I called to confirm the reservation MINUTES before I left my house to pick up the car I was told there were no cars available, and that I should keep calling them to see when a car will be available, like I am the employee. I was offered no assistance with another rental, no discount, and they said they don't accept my bank card but offered no other options, information, or respect. I reserved a car for my parents over 2 weeks ago. We just wanted a regular car, nothing fancy and not asking for any amenities. But when they showed up at the time of reservation, there were a lot of people waiting, few employees working, and they had no cars. My parents ended up waiting 3 hours to get a car. We received a phone call the morning of my college move-in being told lies that there was a recall on mini vans and couldn't give us the Toyota Sienna we reserved over a month ago. Calling customer service did absolutely nothing and we were basically downgraded to an SUV that won't fit my mini fridge, despite being entitled to an upgrade given that we are frequent customers. Very disappointed in how this company did business with us. We were meeting family who had a vehicle so we called and asked them if we returned our car if we could get our money back. They told us that was no problem. When returning the vehicle no credit was given. They later explained to us that since we booked trough a third party they could not give us credit. The rent was supposed to be 63 dollars the day. Once we returned the car they keep charging for 5 days, so up to more than 400 dollars. Took 4 days to get the money back. Extremely disappointed. They didn't have the car I reserved, then "upgraded me" at a higher price. I needed a vehicle so I took it. that wasn't too bad but I rented it for 2 days with the understanding that I might return it the next day. I was told that was ok, and I would only be charged the for the time I had it. Of course that was not the case. When I returned it the next day, they told me there was no refund and nothing they could do. I would have to dispute the charges. I did and customer service reduced some of the charges, but still felt ripped off. I will not be dealing with them again. read more

Unprofessional, lazy, and rude. Ariana is the name I was given by the representative. I had to ask myself if she was working for a company due to how rude and disrespectful she was being. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Ariana must be a friend or family member of the owner. There is no way I would hire someone who would cause for me to lose money instead of make money. I would not recommend anyone rent from this location for Avis or Budget. Go to the airport, which is what I ended up doing. They are friendly and helpful and know what it means to run a business. It is a shame that these independent contractors are working under the Budget and Avis name because this particular one (1st Choice Car Rental, LLC managed by Rose Cortes) is a disgrace. This is probably the worst place you can rent a car from! Beware! First of all my husband and I had a reservation for a car rental, when we went to pick it up we had to wait in a short but long line 2 ppl were ahead of us. There was only one lady at the counter and she left the counter without so much as a greeting. I addressed my husband by asking where did she go? Another lady, Ana who came right before the last one left said she was wrapping up with the previous customer and would help us after. After pulling up our reservation, she asked for the card that we would be using for the vehicle. We handed her a debit card to which she said a credit check would be required. And also an additional deposit. We were fine with either because nothing was wrong with our credit. After "pulling" our credit, she said the transaction was declined. Both my husband and I were annoyed because we have good credit. So my husband had to drive back home 15 mins away to get the credit card. She couldn't "extend" the reservation, but I found that I could make an additional reservation for the extra day. My husband finally returned to complete the transaction after 3 pm. I called the place several times that day to see if I would need to bring the car in to honor the second reservation for the exact same car and couldn't reach anyone at that location. Finally on Monday (Labor Day) I reached Rose who said she would honor the same daily rate. Our rental came out to be $98 with all fees included for a 4 day rental with my discounts. But when my husband returned the car they charged us practically $180!!!!!! I've rented through enterprise on numerous occasions and I'm all the more foolish for trying a different place. *****FRAUDULENT BILLING AT THIS LOCATION********I prepaid for a rental to pick up on 25 July 2017 @ 10am. The amount for the prepay was $256.37. Before I was due to pick up the rental the rates went down. I called Budget's generic customer service number and spoke with a representative and he adjusted the rate to $200.30. The rep advised me I would see the credit once I return the car on the 30 July 2017. I dropped the car off and Rose checked me in. ((side note) I have rented from this location on a few other occasions and when I drop off the car it is normally quick, however this time Rose was taking an extra long time, maybe because she was on the phone the entire time.) I advised Rose as she was carrying on her personal conversation that I was due an adjustment, she said "the credit will be back to your card by Friday." Friday came and went, so I called Budget and was advised that insurance was added to my rental agreement. I then called and spoke with Rose at the local office and she stated "insurance is automatically added when you rent a car", I said when did this start? My receipt that I have sitting next to me shows a HUGE CIRCLE around declined (which I also initialed)for Loss Damage Waiver, Personal Accident and Effects, Emergency Sickness Plan and Supplemental Liability Insurance. Rose took it upon herself to add insurance in the amount of $59.70 which would bring me back to roughly the original amount I was to pay. Rose then charged my card an additional $.16 the day after I returned the car...... ********THIS IS FRAUD AND THIS LOCATION NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN****** I am happy I kept my receipt!!!!
