I accidentally booked the wrong Budget location, thinking it was closer to the airport. When I arrived, I explained the situation, and the staff took care of everything quickly. They changed my reservation, honored the same price, and showed me several car options. I asked not to drive a Tesla and they immediately offered something else that fit my needs. Their flexibility and customer service were impressive. 4.5 stars wait was a little long.

The line waiting for a car and they only have two people working and at least 10 empty stations

Two people working with 50 plus people in line. All the emails they send you say they're "fast". Extremely poorly managed. After a long flight you just want to get to your destination. We've already waited an hour with at least an hour to go. Don't use Budget at SFO!

We landed in San Francisco, and headed straight over to get our rental car. The airport had a convenient and well marked train system to take us to the car rental center. Once there we had a bit of a line, which was rather frustrating...they know many car reservations they have a any given time, so we were surprised they didn't have more staff on hand d to assist with the process of getting the customers in their cars and in the way. Once through the line we got our assigned parking space, headed for the garage to pick up our car. With the map at the entrance it was easy to find the spot our Camry was in. It was a quick load in, the keys were already in the car and away we went. Returning the car was as easy as driving back into the garage, into the return lane, we parked, gave the keys to the attendant, took our things and were on our way. The experience was good, though pricing was bit high from past rental experiences. I'm sure they jack the rates up for holiday travel though.

    Ridiculous

Unbelievable. Peak travel time, SFO, line around the block and two of the slowest attendants ever I will be here all night but never again

If you landed and you're looking for the rental car center- follow signs to the air train which takes you there

As a member of budget fast break- I must say I had a great experience! I received an email and a text prior to landing, that my rental car was available and what spot it was in. I asked for help around the airport and discovered that I needed to ride the Air Train to the car rental garage. I found signs for the Air Train and headed over. The line at budget was very long- and many reviews have mentioned that on here. The lines were long for all companies, actually. But with fast break I was able to just head to the garage and to my assigned car and go! The car was mostly clean and no major damage. I did a quick video of some scratches and dents and headed out. Fast break provided me with a QR code which bypassed the regular checkout line and allowed me to scan at the exit. It was fast and easy. The car itself had satellite radio and navigation, only 40k miles. It was spacious. Car return was simple- I drove in, parked at the end of the line, and they scanned me in with no additional charges. I appreciate budget having the fast break program so I could maximize every minute of my trip and not lose time waiting in line. Thank you!

UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE FRONT DESK EMPLOYEE

This man in the photo here - that REFUSED to give me his name was very rude and condescending. My husband and I saw him helping someone else so we waited for him to finish. He then told the lady what email to look for on her phone - and as she was looking for her email he was back at his computer so we took the break within their interaction to ask our quick question and he interrupted us and said "I'm helping someone right now. AS YOU CAN SEE. So I'll be with you when it's your turn" his tone, and demeanor were condescending and unwelcoming. You do not tell a customer "as you can see". When we asked for his name he refused to give it to us and said "i do apologize and I understand you might be tired after a very long flight but i won't be giving you my name because it's my right". Deflecting his rudeness on my "tiredness". I didn't even take a flight that day. Another very rude thing to say to a customer while rolling your eyes and having a dismissive attitude. So if you see Mr. No Name at the desk - be ready to be disrespected and talked down on. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEE REPRESENTING BUDGET. *update: his name is Tyler. I knew I could figure it out.

Well over 50 people in line for the entire two plus hours I waited to get my rental!
    Teresa L.

Over a two hour wait to get your rental car. The line did not go down for the entire 2+ hours that I waited in the line. Despite having 10 kiosks at which they could help customers, they only had two or three employees working the entire time.

It's only natural I'd interact with any and all rental car agencies in the Bay Area. Over the years I've worked with Enterprise on both the corporate and branch levels. It's a family owned business and it's a people business long before the subject of the cars comes up. They do business ethically. They treat people courteously. Both clients AND business partners. They do a phenomenal job of communication and they excel at setting expectations and then exceeding them! It's a very hard job. The branches are used to promote staff from within which can lead to a challenge in turnover as Enterprise tends to hire young , intelligent "go getters". This can mean building a relationship only to see it change when a new eager young face comes in. That has been a 20 plus year observation of mine. I build and grow a relationship with an office full of happy young folks that help me operate and function only to watch them move on in their lives. This leads me to the reason for this specific review. That reason is Miss Helen at the San Bruno Branch. I remember the standard Enterprise changing of the guard ceremony where I met Miss Helen. Enterprise has a standard procedure. Departing manager comes and brings the fresh new manager for a meet n greet. This sounds simple. Sounds like common sense. Sounds "like a good idea .." and it is. But I'll tell you. No other company consistently does anything like this. So anyway. Miss Helen was full of enthusiasm and had a genuine demeanor about her as she committed to a fruitful and pleasant working relationship with me and my clients. I've had probably 20 of these meet ups over the years and knew to expect a learning curve. But I got the feeling it'd go well. And it has. Miss Helen will always take my calls and always address my clients concerns or needs as if she was helping her own family. As do all of her staff. It's clear to me that her management style is both effective and infectious. She proves an age old business adage I live by. "You can light a fire under someone and you may get results; light that fire IN THEM and you will get results !" I see it in the tone and feel of the current San Bruno Branch and it's something that's really rad to see in the current state of the world. A mixed bag of young people all working hard to better themselves and their branch while delivering their company promise of "We'll pick you up!" With a smile and some genuine effort and sincerity. In my humble (albeit wordy ) opinion. Miss Helen is an asset that built a team capable of handling anything. Give em a crack at global warming ! Let em see if they can fix the hole in the ozone layer. I personally think they're unstoppable !

The owner is shady and uses some scammy business practices…read more We were in a bit of a bind as we didn't realize the major car rental companies don't rent out cars without a major credit card. The employee at Fox said he could find us a deal at Airport Rent A Car, a company I had never heard of before (now I understand it is because it is not a reputable car rental company), and said the price of the reservation would be $250 for 3 days. It was a bit more than they were asking for at Fox, but we needed a car so we agreed and waited for the "shuttle" to their office. Ten minutes later the "shuttle" arrives, which is just a man in an unmarked white sedan who is going to drive us across the freeway through San Bruno to this office, which is not near the airport. As we are driving, our driver asks us some questions about our trip and where we are going, beginning by saying they will not rent us the car if we are going to Burning Man. Okay... given that we were already in the car and moving, maybe that would have been something to ask about sooner. But we were in fact NOT going to Burning Man, we were planning to visit family in LA. The driver continues to text the business owner, Fred, (while driving) and lets us know that the price of our reservation has actually just changed! The driver hands me his cell phone and tells me to speak with his boss, Fred. Uh... okay. Fred lets me know that now the price is $490 for 3 days, not the $250 we previously agreed to. I tell him that we are not paying that amount because it's not what we agreed to, and that we are going to find another company to work with. Fred has the nerve to be rude, telling us that we better do that, as if WE are the scammers. Luckily the driver drops us back off at Fox so we can assess the other options. Overall, this was a complete waste of (everyone's) time and just not the way to conduct business. I'm not sure what the need is to rip someone off when they are already on their way to give you their business. Oh, and Turo.com will rent to people paying with debit, so just save yourself the hassle of dealing with this weird guy.

Their customer service (via phone) couldn't justify some of the fees (eg $16 of "airport transport") and said they were from Booking.com. 2) The rental location is OFF the airport. You'll have to wait for up to 15 minutes for the shuttle to get there. This means you'll queue up with a bunch of other people (To be honest, they moved pretty fast). They charge $25 if you want to be taken back to the terminal directly when you drop the car. 3) I bought a tank of gas in advance, and I was told that they would "refund up to half tank of unused gas". But I was told (when I returned) they meant they refund half a tank if you return more than half. 4) People are reporting high late fees. I actually returned early, and I still don't know why the extra $170. 5) They will try to sell you a $200 weekly plan for tolls, but when I checked online, it looks like you can just pay the tolls on the web with the plate. I didn't try it, so I can't confirm, but now you know. On the bright side, the car was OK, even if a little scuffed and stained, and the return was very quick.

What truly stood out was the blend of warm, traditional customer service with cutting‑edge technology. It's a breath of fresh air to see a company embrace innovation without losing the human touch. Because of this experience, SIXT has earned our loyalty. This is the only rental company we'll be returning to every time we need a car.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE RENT A CAR FROM SIXT…read more I've been a loyal Sixt customer for more than 10 years, but in two of my last three rentals they've tried to hold me responsible for damage that I didn't cause. After reading through the reviews here, it's pretty clear this isn't an isolated incident. In my most recent rental, when I returned the car, the Sixt employee, Herman B., specifically told me that the scratch had already been documented in the system before my rental and asked me to sign acknowledging that. Based on what he told me, I signed. I was completely shocked when I later received a damage report using that same signature to claim the damage happened during my rental. What makes this even harder to understand is that Sixt described the damage as a 4-inch superficial scratch that didn't go through the paint and was basically a scuff mark. Yet they're now trying to charge me $1,327 for "paint and mechanical labor." It just doesn't make sense. I was told the damage was already in the system before I rented the car. Sixt's own report describes it as a superficial scratch, yet they're claiming over $1,300 in repairs. Those things simply don't line up. After more than 10 years as a loyal customer, this experience has completely changed my opinion of Sixt. I'll never rent from them again, and I'd strongly encourage anyone considering Sixt to read through the other damage claim reviews before making a reservation.
