Their website was down and my online reservation did not show up in their system, so on the day I was supposed to pick up my rental truck, even though they did not have one in that size available, the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very helpful in quickly finding a location that had one available for me. From there it was all downhill. I had to pick up from Home Depot in South Riding. No problem. Or so I thought. I get there and they are unable to complete my transaction and give me the keys because according to the lady there the reservation was not completed by Penske, and they're just a 3rd party vendor so they can't handle that part. Ok, that's fine. So I wait about 5-7 mins while they get it sorted out. Eventually she hangs up the phone and lets me know we're good to go. That's when she hands me contract + bill for $328!!! Now I'm confused. How is a $49 truck rental costing me $328 before I've even seen or driven the truck?? I was told that there is a deposit of $150, to which I replied, "that still doesn't add up"... I'm addition to that, I was charged another $97 for mileage at the astronomical rate of $1.29 per mile, which is dwarfs uhaul's rate of $0.99 per mile for local moves. Mind you, I was charged for 75 miles before even touching the keys. Keep in mind, that none of this info was on their website or communicated to me by the customer service rep I dealt with. Ultimately I got moved and did what I needed to do, but there's nothing I can say about it my experience to justify how much more expensive it is in comparison to uhaul. There are no ramps on the trucks, renting a dolly is an additional $50, the $150 deposit, etc..... with as expensive as everything in the country is right now, save your money and just go uhaul!

It was clean, ran very well and got great milage. It was such an easy process, the easiest process of the entire move. I highly recommend coming here for your u-haul needs. The one less star was not ALL the associates were as helpful or knowledgeable about the inventory.

I rented a 12 foot truck for a base of $16, and 79 cents per mile. That can rack up quickly around here, so plan your routes accordingly. The guys at Budget were very friendly, and the truck was easy to drive, although loud with what I think was a rattling seat. But that's just a reminder that you're driving a real truck. Oddly, Budget was cheaper on both the daily rate and per-mile costs than the Uhaul place nearby, so it's the best deal in Sterling/Dulles now.

BLUF: Rent with U Haul…read more Scheduled a rental on Veteran's Day last week. I called the shop in Sterling to let them know I was running 30 minutes late. When I called Max he indicated the truck I rented was not available. He said that he would check with his corporate HQ to see if there was a loca truck available. When I called back 30 minutes later he advised me there were no trucks available other than a 16' truck in another town. (I had rented a 26' truck because I needed a 26' truck.) Once I made the determination a truck from Budget was not available I contacted U Haul that morning and made a reservation to rent a 26' truck from them and got my daughter moved off to college without further incident. Long story short, if you need to rent a truck use U Haul to get it done!

I called and asked "why" they said that since I turned the car in early they changed the daily rate to match my original reservation total. So basically I got taken for roughly 6 days of rental fees. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you can change the rental fees on the fly for a customer unknowingly thats terrible business. I rented cars from avis, enterprise, dollar etc. never had them do that to me. There are huge potholes in the parking lot which is a big hazard, I almost walked into one and definitely drove into one. I placed an order, came in to pick it up, and it wasn't ready. I had to explain myself to the cashier to the cashier 3 times and even when I showed my contract number they were still confused on why I came in. The cost of tools were reasonable, I've rented a van, but I still need to gauge the cost of how much, and if it's worth it so I will return with an updated review at some point. I will say, unless you're moving massive objects you may save on cost by renting a spacious car instead. Your mileage and distance is accounted for in price so you can easily run your bill upwards. If it wasn't for the availability of tools & Products, I would this location is definitely not worth it.

For example, he worked super hard to locate the dollies that I had rented. He also made sure that the 26' truck was upfront for my pick up the next morning and gave me the names of his employees (Francisca and Angie) who would be there when I picked up the truck. This type of service is rare. This was the first time I'd driven the 26' truck, and I was a little nervous, so I went the day before even though I had mobile pickup. This turned out to be the BEST decision I made because I got to meet Billy. We ended up chatting for a long time, and I left with a smile.It was smooth sailing in that 26 footer for 732 miles!
