Apparently the local Uhaul owners can't or won't or likely aren't allowed to make any decisions. This basically negated our two way ferry booking as we couldn't make a new booking due to ferry loads. This also added $90 each way, almost doubling our ferry costs. Good old Nicholas Spears from somewhere up the Uhaul chain washed his hands of us saying we were told a couple days out. Not his problem. He said our kind of booking isn't a priority. On a previous booking the truck we had booked was available but at a location in another town. Would they cover the difference in mileage? Not a prayer. Fooled me twice. Somehow I'm embarrassed when it's Uhaul who should be. Don't you be fooled by the word 'reservation' when Uhaul uses it. Called the number and spoke to Tina twice regarding the website not working. Both times she said she would call me back when she got into the office. Never called. So, I can't review on their cars as I never got that far. But service is a definite no. The more positive reviews are older so maybe the business isn't doing as well as in the past. In addition Practicar's main 800 number leads to one of those scam call centers offering "medical IDs" to people over 55.

Further investigation with my company showed that I would have been covered for a, "rental truck up to 12,000 pounds." An insurance company can't give you coverage for a commercial vehicle on your personal policy. In this case you are renting a truck and not using it for a commercial purpose. This is obviously a scam to get you to buy their coverage for 25$. I would suggest taking your business to U-haul on King St. never a problem.

What the company does not tell you on their website is that if you decline their insurance coverage, which they sell for an additional $25, is that you will be required to call your insurance company and have them confirm that your auto insurance policy covers commercial rental trucks. The other thing is that if you drive your car there with the intention of leaving it parked while you're renting a truck, note that they do not allow you to park your vehicle there. If you're fortunate as I was, right next door is a business that had Parking available and they allowed me to park my car there for the two hours that I was gone.

Recommend reading all of the policy signs (Loss Damage Waiver, credit card hold fee, etc) before renting so you are informed since they don't really review these policies with you as stand procedure; Or just ask questions about them at time of rental.

Outside of the airport terminal building, in the rental pick-up area, there is a sign that includes the Enterprise telephone number to request a shuttle pick up. Our driver arrived in less than 10 minutes. Of course, the shuttle is free. Both check-in and check-out are fast and painless. Our vehicle was ready as soon as we entered the facility. We were in and out in roughly 3 minutes. Outstanding! Just as important, we were charged exactly what was quoted, unlike Hertz (in Calgary), which charged close to $100 more than quoted.
