Budreau's has become one of our fave Friday eve stops. We have numerous options near home, but dollar for dollar AND one of my fave local micros ALWAYS on tap, it's VERY hard to beat. I gave Bureau's a try for lunch and was happy I did. The menu is pretty straight forward and they have daily specials which helps a lot when you are on a budget or undecided. The lunch special was hand breaded chicken fingers and garlic Parmesan tater tots. I'm not much of a chicken fingers person but the idea of them being on special and hand breaded tempted me enough to order them. Once the food arrived the smell from the garlic parm tots was amazing and the tenders were huge! The breading on the tenders was light and thin and had a delicious flavor. The tater tots were spot on and very delicious. Not much more I can say about the food except I didn't finish the tenders because it was about a breast and a half worth of tenders and I was full. The service from my waitress was pleasant and she was very attentive. There was quite a few people dining in and I curious to try this place it for dinner if I'm in the area. The location is a little far from Indy but hey why not! The interior is comfy and warm and they are family friendly. There is parking available at first come first serve. read more

We came on a Friday evening at prime time dinner hour. We did not have a reservation and only waited about 10 minutes for a table for a party of 6. We drove 45 minutes to come to your restaurant and it definitely did not disappoint. Customer service was spot on. Robin's Witchy Brew cocktail was delicious. Chicken wing appetizer was delightful. Prime Rib was melt in your mouth Good. Another person in our party had the breaded tenderloin said it was the best he ever had. We will definitely be returning. read more

We had reservations for the Valentines Day d I inner. It was awesome. The steak and lobster were both tender and flavorful. Our waitress was on top of everything. If you are a local or someone just passing through, Robie's is the place to go. I had seen the positive Yelp reviews and my niece recommended it when I visited her in Attica, so those were good enough for me! As the name says, it is both a bar and a restaurant. I stopped in the bar side just before 5 and had the place to myself on a weekday. They serve food on both sides of the business, so I ordered a breaded tenderloin (Is there a safer thing to order in the state?) The sandwich was delicious and had all the ingredients I like on my tenderloin. The breading had a light crunch to it. The meat wasn't pounded thin, so it held its juices even when crisped. Nice flavoring in the breading too. I was a little disappointed that they didn't carry any craft beers (even though they had Sunking advertising). So I decided to go with a gin and tonic instead. It was really good and I was shocked when I realized it was only $3.50! In Indy, that could be over $10 downtown! Just goes to show what location can do to mark ups. I was a little surprised at how little the bartender said the entire time I was there (still the only customer). Maybe if she were a bit more talkative there would be more customers. Oh, well. What a shame that the service and food were not what is portrayed in their commercials. unbelievably slow but rude service. once we got our order the person pretending to be a waitress argued with us that is was our fault it was wrong because "it says right here on this fancy gizmo what you ordered". we did not punch the fancy gizmo's buttons. waited 1/2 hour to get the check after three times being told "I will be right back". wish we could say the food was good enough to wait on or at least offset some of the disappointment, it wasn't. potatoes were not warm enough to melt the butter. read more

We'd been driving all day, we're tired, it's getting dark, rainy and still had 2 more hours to drive. We found this place for an energy burst and so glad we did. The place was packed but managed 2 seats at the bar. As busy as they were, they managed well. The vegetable soup was delicious! The staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend! My husband, Brother, and I were looking for a place nearby to eat out so we didn't have to scrounge up something in the kitchen for dinner. My brother grew up in Attica and recommended this place saying "it was the best place in town" so we decided on it. They have booths so I was happy about that. The seats are a bit torn though. I saw their pork tenderloin sandwich was hand-breaded, so since Indiana is one of the top places in the USA to get this delicacy, I just had to get it. It was thick and yummy. The breading was crispy and flavorful. I had to ask for extra mayo and lettuce. The sandwich was a good size and I saved half for the next day and was surprised it was STILL crispy. Our poor little waitress must have started recently. She didn't know much about the menu, so she had to keep checking with the other wait staff on information. I wanted to order a Moscow Mule, but their bar doesn't carry ginger beer. I got a cosmopolitan instead and it was really good. ($5....yes, you heard me $5 ! Gotta love these small-town prices !!!) We got the potato wedges and they were just ok. Anytime I see the words "homemade" or "house-made" I make a bee-line for it. Such was the case for the baked beans, and they did not disappoint!!! Yummy ! They were really thick with bits of bacon and tasted like chili. They were served with Fritos, which were the perfect compliment to them. I scooped up every delicious bite. Overall, they have very good food if you can look past the dated, worn furniture. I'm of the opinion that great food is more important, so this didn't bother me at all. We love this place for impromptu, quick date nights. We usually sit in the bar, have a couple beers, and eat amazing burgers. The bar is no smoking and the atmosphere is always pretty chill. My husband has said "Maybe this time we should splurge and get something different", but I keep coming back for the burger. They are always fresh and phenomenal; cooked beautifully. I order mine with everything on it and it's perfect that way. The fries are crispy and amazing, too! *Worth noting: the size of the burger is big enough that we share a side of fries Last time we were in I paid less than $20 for our food and drinks. I'm writing this now after the 6 visit since new ownership took over. I've been dining at this establishment for over a decade and most of those years while under previous ownership. It was far better under the previous owners and more affordable. Yes they have way more beer/tap options and the atmosphere has improved, but the food quality and prices have certainly gone the opposite direction. For 2 adults and an under 5 year old child, we had 1 burger w/fries, 1 slider w/potato wedges (daughter), and 1 breaded tenderloin w/fries the total was over $53! We did not order alcohol but iced teas and there was not even ice in the iced tea! Under previous ownership this place had thee best breaded tenderloin in Indiana (and that's really saying something if you know tenderloins and Indiana!) The tenderloin had no flavor at all, the kids basket used to be cheaper and included 2 sliders vs. 1, mac n cheese, fries and a cookie and drink. Now the cost is far higher and you get 1 slider and fries/drink as the kid's only option. To add, this is the first time my wife's burger was cooked all the way. And I know the meat is high quality from Prime Cut 41, because I buy it for my household. But the cooking here is not doing it any justice. All menu items need to come down $2-$3 at least per this is a small community. The quality is nowhere near on par with the price. You may do well with the Badlands traffic, but you are not serving the customer base that made this once amazing place exist. The Attica and Warren Co residents. It's sad because this was the choice place to go for a date or quick dinner/drinks. Please do better and bring this back to what it once was in quality but with the improved atmosphere or we will not be back. read more

My husband and I wanted to take a friend to Budreau's for the first time. We arrived around 7p m and had drinks ordered. By 7:10 we placed our order. At 8:20 we were served our food! One Hour and 10 minutes after initially placing the order !! My husband's food was just warm-otherwise food was ok. Our friend wanted a loaded baked potato but by the time we received the food -they had run out of baked potatoes! Had our food been served in a timely fashion maybe she would have gotten a baked potato. We even had to wait for refills on our water!!! We were not impressed at all-therefore we probably will NOT be returning to this restaurant anytime soon!!! read more

There are a lot of small towns in Indiana, and I like to go for a drive and check out the old Main Street in these towns and related old buildings. I actually stumbled upon a 90 foot waterfall by this town! Indiana's tallest. Anyway, this place was homely and comfy with dark blue carpet and lots of blue hairs to match. Their menu was cheap. Ordering a fish sandwich in Indiana is a crap shoot... but I'm a gamblin' man, especially when the stakes are so low! It was the best fish sandwich I've had in at least a year! (And I had recently had a killer one in Little Havana. Just sayin'.) I was shocked! About 1/3 lb of fresh cod fried to perfection on a toasted buttered bun with onions and fresh green leaf lettuce. Dress that thing with tartar and Tabasco and MAN that's a hell of a $4 sandwich! I love the hidden gems. (!!!) read more

I've been going to Robie's for a number of years; I think my parents go every week! This is a small town staple and popular to visit. One side is family dining and the other side is the bar - you eat in either that suits you. Hands down you have to try the breaded tenderloin or catfish - tasty!! Robie said on Tuesday nights the catfish of made with a cornmeal batter and it's pretty popular. There aren't too many nice places to eat in Attica but Robie's should definitely be on your list! read more

We stopped here on the way to Turkey Run to camp. The staff was friendly and the place seemed clean. Restrooms feel a bit dated and there was a faint restroom smell. The menu was on one sheet and not too many choices but what we ordered was tasty and well put together. Glad I did some research before spending the day walking the Portland Arch preserve. Yelp Nation did me right. Solid 4 stars. It's just off the main drag and easy to find. Good first impressions and it's clean. They do a lot of carry out biz. We select a fish sandwich & breaded chicken sandwich with slaw & potato wedges (& sour cream). Sandwiches priced at ~$6 each - sides just under $3. Excellent grub - fairly quick service. No issues. AYCE Catfish on Tuesday eves $10. Solid recommend on this hidden joint. I have eaten here twice in the last couple of months. I do not recommend this place to eat. The food is terrible. I got a grilled cheese sandwich, grilled it was not!! My cousin's band was playing here last weekend so it seemed logical to eat here beforehand. "Build your own burger" seems a bit unnecessary when the only options are tomato, onion, lettuce and the add-ons of cheese and/or bacon, especially when it's the only burger on the menu. That's what I ordered but here's a trick: I got a side of their "boom boom" sauce and poured that stuff on my burger. It was fantastic. My brother ordered boneless wings with honey bbq sauce. He was muy disappointed to see the sauce was on the side and not already coating the morsels. He asked the barkeep if that's how they always do it. Response: yeah...except on Thursdays. Everything else was fine. We ate at the bar so I'm not even sure how to get to the dining area but I suppose it shan't be too hard to find out, maybe after a couple of trial and errors. Our first visit to Robie's! Found it for lunch on Yelp when we were just passing through town. Excellent breaded and grilled chicken sandwiches. We highly recommend the French fries.
