Have been a long time customer, but was disappointed at our last visit when we were informed that soup would not be included with our entree, and would be at an extra cost. We were big fans of the cabbage soup and usually timed our visits to the days that was being served. Not the biggest deal in the world, but irritating enough to keep us from returning. read more

First off, the service was, in one word, unwelcoming. We were not greeted upon entering. Then, when I ordered a beer, the hostess who checked my ID was rude and unpleasant; as if she did not believe that I was of age, and was annoyed that I was. In terms of food, it was depressing. We ordered two classic meals: pasta with chicken, and steak and rice with veggies. The chicken was rubbery, the pasta was overcooked to the point that it was falling apart, and the sauce was tasteless. The steak was overly chewy and overcooked, the veggies were clearly frozen and defrosted... at least the rice was okay. The food was reminiscent of a typical school lunch. Food was very good. Service was great. Prices were very reasonable. Will go back. The dinning room was clean and inviting.

I continue to be a big fan of this place as a go-to brunch spot. Service is good, if not always great but I've only experienced less attention when they've been absolutely slammed. On the regular they are friendly and helpful, checking in to make sure you're happy. Despite being busy they do a great job of making sure I have plenty of coffee. It's a classy environment with great decor and comfortable seating across multiple dining spaces. Good for both small and larger groups. read more

Tasted like a homecooked meal--nothing special, but you get a good serving of food for a very affordable price. I think the total came out to be less than $20 with tip. We came for breakfast right before the 2024 solar eclipse and it wasn't very busy. The staff was friendly to other people who seemed to be regulars in the small town and let us be. As you can see from the pictures, lots of food, tasted great, very affordable, but nothing spectacular. read more

I hadn't been there in a while because I was unimpressed with my last meal . But since we were in the area and wanted something simple we tried it again . It was good . I had breakfast which they serve all day and my husband had the liver . Everything was cooked properly and served quickly . Our couple of requests were not forgotten and the server checked back frequently. We then had one of the best pieces of cheesecake I've ever tasted . My family loves this place and this past weekend I saw why. We had my father's retirement dinner here and it's a great spot. They have good food and they don't shy away on their portions. You get your moneys worth. Our servers, Brennan and the young lady were super attentive and patient, especially with our kiddos. Hands down best service for our family get together. Great service, decent prices, mediocre food. We brought a crowd, which was accommodated with no drama at all. I ordered the liver and onions, which I usually love, but it was overcooked to the point of being rubbery. My hash browns were also fairly tasteless, but they very graciously took them back to the kitchen and added a bit of grated cheese for me, which was much appreciated. A hidden gem, for sure!!! This place doesnt look like much from outside, but inside it is modern and up-to-date. Looks recently remodeled even. Husband took me here for our anniversary because the menu said they have fried zucchini sticks. Food did not disappoint. His New York steak was juicy and perfectly cooked. The yeast rolls tasted better than Texas Roadhouse. My chicken club was so flavorful. Staff is friendly. Eden took great care of us, making sure we had all we needed. I went by myself on a busy Sunday and the wait was less than 5 minutes. I don't know the name of my server, but he was an older gentleman with silvery hair. He was excellent and gave me the same care as all the other tables around me who had 4-6 people. He was very polite and did a great job. The food was amazing and for these prices, you can't beat that. I love Christos and will be coming back. read more

The food was good had chicken pita sandwich. Fries could been cooked a little longer The service was good. The issue was they mop floor which not bad thing except eating with a heavy chemical smell was not enjoyable. This is the new standard for value and massive amounts of food everywhere! There's a Bob Evan's aura in the simple atmosphere showing off retired farmers some recessed lighting but get past that because the portions are amazing! My parents love coming here for the liver. Each time they don't know what to do with it all, never can finish it at the restaurant! Look at my photos for proof, what a slab! I have never used so many exclamation points in a review, making a record! My Reuben was very tasty tho not quite on standards of Town & Gown's indulgent feast-wich. My sister's love the hero sandwich or is it more of a taco? Seems to be both of the best worlds. This is possibly the new family tradition even though my parents have already been enjoying Christos for quite some time especially this location as it is quieter than the west side. The new menu does regrettably lack the salmon but again that's why we have my favorite city spot, Town & Gown. It is also wonderful to see the classics like steak and eggs on the breakfast side. Alfredo tasted like a microwave dinner and the server was unwelcoming. Would not reccomend

Solidly average, about sums up this place. It is a bit bizarre that they have a dark, schick, cosmopolitan interior, but their menu and clientele is basically Cracker Barrel, i.e. just unembellished iterations of classic American foods. The food was not bad -- it was just very plain and basic. I tried the "Ms. English" (an English muffin sandwich with scrambled eggs, bacon, and American cheese, served with a side of hashed potatoes), and the buttermilk pancakes. It was all very filling -- one or the other dish would have been more than enough to "hit the spot" -- but, again, it was pretty bland. No seasoning in the potatoes or the eggs (the latter of which seemed a bit oily, though I am not sure if it was just the American cheese that liquified back into its processed product state on top of it); bacon was just that, and a bit on the cold side and chewy; and the pancakes, while good, tasted like what I could make myself at home from a good box mix and a bit of extra flour to fatten them up a bit more. Nothing wrong with homecooked meals -- though I prefer to get something I couldn't make myself without a lot of hassle from restuarants, and this was not that. Christos is clearly a cut above many of its competitors (Bob Evan's, IHOP, Denny's, etc.), but because said competitors serve you inedible crap half the time. There doesn't seem to be anything unique or interesting on the menu, and based on those two items, they will all probably be very basic/unornate versions that, while filling, won't knock your socks off. I would say if it is a special occasion for your significant other or family member and you are feeling too lazy to make them breakfast yourself, this might fill that niche -- it's more expensive than the likes of IHOP, but only by a little, and you won't be served runny Salmonella eggs, but it is not as expensive as Another Broken Egg Cafe, so it won't break your bank. Otherwise, outside of those very particular circumstances, I am not too sure I would return here. read more

Lots of good food. Has a wide selection to choose from. Have been there for breakfast and dinner this time. We started with the mozzarella wrappers. Yummy cheese in a wonton, can't go wrong. The tomato sauce is kind of bland. I had the smothered chicken. Grilled chicken with onions, peppers, mushrooms and melted Swiss. It was all pretty good. Came with mashed potatoes and a side salad. My hubby had the beef stacker. Twist on the manhattan. Biscuits on the bottom, with mashed potatoes, tooped with slices of beef covered in gravy with onion rings on top. Came with a side salad, which were large and the croutons are awesome. Definitely felt we got plenty for our money. read more

Went for dinner last night.The restraunt it self is very clean. There is a display of yummy deserts when you walk in. The waitresses are always nice and prompt. For dinner we start with the sample platter. It comes with fried green beans cheese sticks and fried zucchini. For our main course I enjoy the apple French toast with Apple syrup it's so yummy. My children enjoy there chocolate chip pancakes. My husband tryed the breaded tenderloin and it was fabulous if I do say so myself. The cut of meat was perfect. I honestly think it was the best tenderloin I ever tryed. My husband agreed. I look forward to returning and getting pictures next time. read more

My first time at this restaurant and I ordered Gyro Omelette I was very disappointed it didn't have much gyro meat, I know Greeks well when it comes to food they serve large portions to make sure you happy here in Chicago at the restaurants running by Greeks they do serve the meals with soup and dessert believe me I don't mind paying. read more

Delicious! I got the country fried chicken stack to go, and was pleasantly surprised it came with a salad. I ordered curbside, and I didn't even have to call! They saw my car, and came right out. The croutons on the salad were amazing, along with the delicious buttermilk chicken. It was only my second time here, but I'll be back for breakfast soon. read more

This is one of the best places to eat in the Lafayette/West Lafayette area. Moving here from a very large city, I was disappointed with the lack of good places to eat in Lafayette. I was pleased to discover Christos! I normally get breakfast - I'm happy that sourdough toast is offered as an option. I really like the gyro quesadilla. The service is also very good. This location is just as good I think as the west Lafayette branch which is excellent. Customer service here is very good and even though the building looks kind of tired from the outside the inside is very well designed. If you were looking for family friendly dining I strongly recommend you look into these guys operations which also include literato coffee house. read more

Sunday brunch with the lady and a few friends. Aside from the disorganization and nearly 20 people standing about beside us, I can't say too much about the wait time. It's to be expected in this town that the post-church rush is always going to put a damper on lunch. After about 15 minutes, we were finally going. I opted for a bit of hometown comfort, the Chicken and Waffles. The buttermilk breading on the chicken and adhered wonderfully even after an unintentional deluge of the house cinnamon apple glaze (I didn't even need the lackluster maple syrup!). Waffles on the other hand just didn't cut it for me. They were still rather doughy and didn't have much of a flavor profile. My three companions all opted for some sort of omelette, each as tasty as the last. The house potatoes, or hash browns, were all undercooked across all three plates. Potatoes like these should have a nice crispy top to them, not mushy white masses of potato. The toast also seemed to have copious amounts of butter hidden between the slices which had to be scraped off by the spoonful. Aside from the minor errors that left me wanting more, our lunch was still rather enjoyable. I look forward to coming back another time when the staff isn't so flustered and enjoy a nice lunch. read more
