This place may be okay for routine care but do NOT trust your pet with surgery here. My beautiful GSD went in on Tuesday for a routine surgery to look for a foxtail. She became ill Wednesday and we took her to the emergency vet, she was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and the ER vet was shocked that buellton had not given her anti- nausea medication for her surgery. She had been npo since Monday late afternoon. She aspirated because of the poor care at buellton. She passed away Thursday despite medical intervention at the ER. She was a bright, happy and healthy dog and we did not start the week thinking that she would die due to the poor care at buellton. I was very please with the level of care provided by this clinic and their staff. At first, I was a little hesitant about not being able to go inside with her, but Taylor came out and greeted me and Nola went right up to her. That eased my mind. Taking our little girl Penny Lane to just any veterinarian was out of the question. We looked here on yelp for help and found BVC! We were convinced coming to BVC would be a great choice. We were drawn to the ranch style home look; not the scary hospital look. When we had our initial visit for Penny Lane we definitely felt welcomed and at home. Being that we are in a pandemic we were unable to see inside BVC but felt comfortable enough to send our girl Penny Lane in by herself. Our two month old was a big girl and got through her initial visit, Dr. Diane and Michelle C. made this possible! They both were very thorough with their answers for all of our questions too. We felt very confident in our choice with BVC. We are excited for her future visits, keeping our girl Penny Lane healthy. I recently switched over to Buellton Vet after having gone to another vet for many years. I have had 3 visits to Buellton vet so far with 3 of my 6 animals just in the last month-establishing a relationship between animal and vet. My last visit was with Dr. Ley. I found her to be extremely knowledgeable regarding my dog and her seizure disorder-much more so than any other vet I have spoken with. So, if seizures are an issue for anyone's pet, she would be your go to vet. I also found Dr. Ley to be friendly and personable. She seems to air on the side of caution regarding most issues ie; her dislike for bully sticks ( being similar to rawhide) that can get stuck in a dogs trachea or belly. Like most vets these days, there was a push for teeth cleaning via anesthesia and vaccinations. Buellton vets prices were on the higher side especially for being in Santa Ynez Valley as opposed to Santa Barbara which is where my previous vet is. I would rather pay a bit more for quality care and vets who truly listen than the alternative but that's just my thought on it. All in all, I am very satisfied with my experiences, so far, with Buellton vet and would recommend Dr. Ley-especially. read more

We just moved to the area and we hadn't gotten a full vet check for our dog since adopting him 10 months ago. Seemed like a good opportunity to check out the vet in town that I'd heard so many good things about. The office: The office itself is bright and spacious with sufficient space to sit or walk around (also lots of room outside if you have a wait on your hands.) There were children's books to entertain the littles and plenty of magazines. The vet and tech: Both were SUPER nice! They answered all my questions and gave my dog a thorough exam. I found them both to be the perfect balance between suggesting preventative maintenance while also not feeling like they're pushing you to do anything you don't want to/can't afford. The tech followed up with my after the appointment with test results and was, again, so friendly and helpful. I realize this was a very basic appointment and the true test comes when things get "hairy" but based on this experience I feel very confident in my dog being in their care. The exam rooms: We've obviously only seen the one exam room so far having only been there once but it was clean and nice. Only issue was that it was small and there wasn't really space for both my child and I to sit and once the vet and tech came in it was REALLY cramped. Really liked the place and, although I'd rather not have to go there too often, I feel good about my new hometown vet. read more

Since Bailey hasn't been groomed in 5 months, I've bought a grooming kit and have been giving him "covid cuts". But it was time to see Sarah who gave him a medium trim (if he needed it), trimmed his nails and at our request, gave him a bath and treatment to help with his itch and scratching (first before having him treated with meds right away). We are so happy Sarah takes the care to listen to our concerns and call with questions and complete our request and at a fair price. We are so happy as well as Bailey's itching has subsided. Hi all, Zak the dog here. I guess I'm the first to write a review. I come to BVC all the time for check ups, baths, hang out when my mom has to go away overnight. They treat me really great, and I have lot's of fun. I get a big run when I have to stay, and get to play with other cool dogs in the play area. When I have to get shots and stuff, (yuck) they treat me real nice, and I don't mind. They always have lot of neat treats for me, and they also have some cool toys like the frisbee's. We truly respect and appreciate Dr. Tina Taylor and feel we must share this with others who love and care for their precious pets. We research and expect the same from our veterinarian as we do from our physicians and specialists. Dr. Taylor is truly exceptional in her gentleness and caring attitude. Her assistants are the same. Dr. Taylor's advanced qualifications include DVM, DABVP, CVA and CVPP. She leans toward homeopathic care (which matters to us) and specializes in acupuncture. We highly recommend this outstanding vet who cares for her animal friends at the Buellton Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Diana Bochenski is a homeopathic vet with an excellent reputation at the Buellton Veterinary Clinic as well. In addition, we must commend Julie Marie Esola and her associates. Julie is an outstanding senior groomer and protects each pet she works with. She is also a behavior certified companion animal hygienist, has been a vet tech, and can provide training for pups or assist with advanced behavior issues. Five stars to Julie for sure! We have used the Buellton Vet Clinic 2 times now while we were evacuated from 2 different fires. They boarded our cat and our 4 fancy rats both times. All the staff are amazing and friendly and just incredible with animals. They're calm, patient, caring, knowledgeable and professional. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else! I know now that each time our animals have to stay, they'll not only be taken care of but loved and enjoyed! My brother has also used them to board his dog that has some serious separation anxiety, and they take such good care of him. I would give more than 5 stars if I could! Too bad I have to give them EVEN ONE star. Made an appointment a month out and 3 days before the appointment they cancel with ZERO customer service. The BEST they could do was set an appointment another MONTH out. Obviously this is a very disorganized establishment that could care less about clients, future and present. This was not the fault of the customer or the dog that needed to be seen, just that they made a mistake and didn't have a back up employee to cover for one that might have been sick. Ridiculous but mostly incredibly rude that they made no attempt to fix the problem. I waited a MONTH for an appointment that they cancelled 3 days before. If I did that they would charge a cancellation fee. NEVER GOONG BACK. NEVER RECOMMENDING THIS CLINIC. read more

My rescue dog is a Big rough collie mix and I had a hard time finding a groomer in Solvang or Santa Ynez as a newcomer. The groomers that I talked with all said that they only groom little dogs which keep them busy enough. Jilliegirl also needed shots. Finally I got lucky. Called the Buellton Vet Clinic. They have the nicest people there. Jilly got a bath and LOVED it. Yesterday she went back for her second flu shot. She was so excited to visit with her new friends there. I called initially to get a feel for the workers, if they seemed rushed or frustrated (if they were there was no way I was going to leave my dog here). But I got AMAZING service right off the bat. My Boston terrier was bitten by another dog on his left leg. He was Zero weight bearing and was tender to touch. I thought for sure he had torn ligaments or shoulder issue. I braced myself for an expensive vet bill. I went to Buellton Vet and the customer service I received from the vet tech was amazing! She took her time with my dog and was so sweet to him. The doctor did her exam, shaved the punctures, and assessed my dog. She assured me that my dog did not need xrays and that he was just sore and needed wound care and antibiotics. I truly believe that an alternate clinic would have requested xrays and more. My bill was less than $140. Honest Vet and loving compassionate vet tech. I took my labradoodle to be groomed (not an easy task) they did a wonderful job!! The staff was friendly. They told me the girl that washes the dogs was done with her last dog for the day and was about to leave but if I wanted to bring my dog she would wait and wash him. The sweetest girl. I needed to have proof of my dogs vaccines, which I could not find. They called my old vet for me and got the info they needed so I wouldn't have to stop and get it. Saved me time, love it!! They told me what time he would be done and called me 30 min before that time to let me know that it would be a little longer because he had some matting in his tail.
