I meant to make to this restaurant for their notorious and famous fried chicken. It was so cute when entering and made me think of New York and New Jersey-style mom-and-pop Italian eateries I'd go to as a kid. It was a warm, inviting, lively ambiance upon being seated. Our waitress greeted us quickly despite it being packed and all seats being occupied. The dining room had a low light with candles on each table, which was a comforting and relaxed dining atmosphere. We started with the incredible calamari. It was fried perfectly with a fantastic house red (marinara) sauce. I got the penne alla vodka and wished it had peas or meat on it, but otherwise, it was still terrific. My guest got the smothered bone in 20 oz pork chop with caramelized onions and rice pilaf. We added a small order of fried chicken, two pieces, I believe, with jojos (large coated potato wedges.) My pasta dish was quickly 3-4 meals in one, and after the calamari and my house salad, I think the house ranch was homemade and tasted better than my go too which is Hidden Valley! I only had a small amount and was indeed so full. I did take a bite of the chicken and of a Jo Jo. The chicken is out of this world. So lightly breaded and cooked to perfection while flavorful and so juicy inside. I did try dark meat, which is my preference when eating poultry, but I can imagine how this was prepared. Any type of meat would be outstanding. I will definitely you be back for the chicken alone and the fantastic service we received. I cannot say enough good things about this local landmark! read more

If you're in Warren, you have to get some buena vista chicken. It's always so juicy and crispy. The Jo-Jo's are a personal favorite and you really can't beat the price. I made the mistake of ordering chicken Parmesan (it was delicious don't get me wrong) but when I seen my boyfriends chicken I knew I made a mistake lol. Service at the window is always good. Always a treat when it comes to Nicky's chicken. But the BV over delivers in so many other ways. Ultimately, you want to try the Greek Fried Chicken if you are a first timer. KFC has nothing on this recipe. The homemade peppers in oil is out of this world! There's nothing like sopping up some bread in this must try appetizer! Warning: if you don't handle a little heat well, these aren't for you. Another must try are the fried greens. This appetizer comes garnished with a giant fried pepper on top! The greens are so flavorful and not overpowered by garlic like most places try to do. They melt in your mouth and are paired well with any dish on the BV menu. I had the short rack of ribs - which were not oversauced, leaving the essence of the rub to standout. The rib meat fell off the bone with little effort and also offered excellent flavor. BV offers a full service bar and a decent wine list that isn't over the top in price but provides good quality. The service is fast, friendly and everyone makes you feel like you are welcome and wanted. What an amazing meal! This was our first visit to Buena Vista and from start to finish the meal was perfect. Let me preface and say they are located just a few minutes from Elm Rd in an area that is predominantly a neighborhood. When you walk in you immediately are transferred into a warm cozy Italian restaurant. It's dimly lit but not dark, currently their tree is up and garland around so it's so beautiful and it really gave it a great vibe! Our waitress was great! She took our drink orders and was back with them quickly. She was awesome at answering questions about her menu for us as well. I chose the beer battered lasagne a.m. with Italian noodle soup as a starter and my husband had prime rib with a loaded potato and a salad for his starter. I am usually not a Italian soup kind of girl but this was so good I think I could enjoy it as a main course! It was robust and flavorful with plenty of Tiny meatballs in it. I ate every bite! Jason said his salad was very good. He said the French dressing was a nice one and he enjoyed it. Our entrees were scrumptious! His prime rib was mouth watering and I was glad we had decided to share our main courses with one another. I truly love the bourbon Au jus that it is cooked in. I knew when the menu said not responsible for mid well or well done steaks we had found a great place. Steak never should be over mid rare and oh my lord I cannot wait to go back and have some more! My beer battered lasagne was melt in your mouth good! It is creamy Alfredo noodles and cheese on the inside and a really good red sauce on top. You get two good sized fried lasagne balls and to me it was just the right amount. I did not feel over stuffed or that it was too rich. We shared a piece of German Chocolate Cheesecake for dessert. It was good but so thick and chewy that it was almost like fudge. I think I would have liked a plain chocolate price better but that's just me. Well, it was chicken, and it was fried, but there wasn't anything to distinguish it from fried chicken from anywhere else, so "best" is quite a stretch. First time here. What a pleasant surprise! Loved everything I had! The waitress was very attentive. All the food was brought out promptly. Two people came out to check on us to see if everything was okay! Wow! We started out with Starters, the portions are huge! We had calamari, fish tacos and brisket tacos. All were exceptional! Stopped in here for lunch while on a family road trip. Really good move. The building is nondescript from the outside, but it's obviously been well-cared for. The first thing you notice going in is the décor - all football themed, with signed photos and jerseys, with helmets lined up on the walls. In the bar, the ceiling IS a gridiron - it's pretty cool, and I'm not much of a football fan. Much more interesting than a generic sports bar, because it's not. The menu is pretty interesting, with a mix of standard bar food, the famous Greek fried chicken, sandwiches, salads, seafood, and meats. I could have picked about 5 different things because a lot of the dishes seem to have some unique little twist, but it seemed like we should get the fried chicken. We shared a side salad and dark meat dinner with regular fries subbed for the Texas fries. We were there on a slow weekend at lunch, so it took 20 minutes or so for our food to come, but that just means we got to enjoy a Great Lakes Dortmunder (Sprite for the kids) before eating. The salad was nice and fresh, with a good balsamic dressing. The fries were tasty and hot, though we regretted not trying the Texas fries since it's what normally accompanies the chicken. The coleslaw was good considering it was creamy (I like a clear dressing on my coleslaw). But the star of the show was the fried chicken. I can't really describe the flavoring - it was pretty unique, slightly tangy and a bit salty. The breading was light and crispy, not thick like some of the fast-food fried chicken we've all had. And juicy - the chicken underneath was super juicy. I easily could have eaten more. Kids had kiddie pizza and chicken tenders. They both liked their food, too. I would definitely come here again the next time we're in the area. A quick note: If you've never been here and you come from the west, eg on Dana Street, you may think that you're in the wrong place as you pass through the old industrial zone. Everything is fantastic from the famous Greek fried chicken, pizza, pastas, fried greens, seafood, you name it. My absolute favorite is the beer battered lasagna!
