My mom would like to let EVERYONE know that she would give her steak bowl 5 stars!! (I had to let you know or I'd never hear the end of it from her). This is my honest opinion by giving Bueno Y Sano 3 stars. It pains me to say that the burrito I got was nothing special. Although the burrito was stuffed with all the toppings I asked for (other than the grilled garlic, I got nada, zip, zilch), they were boring. The steak was unseasoned. The only reason I knew I was eating steak was because of the texture, there was absolutely no flavor. The rice was cooked well, they gave a good amount of sour cream and the beans they offered were pinto (which would have been my bean of choice anyway). Although, I would have liked more mild salsa because I barely got a chance to taste whether or not it was homemade...I'm pretty sure it wasn't. Something about the shredded cheese was delicious though, it was very tasty. Overall, for having a steak burrito priced at only $8, it was decent. I met some friends at Bueno Y Sano for dinner tonight- none of us had been before. I skimmed over the menus which offered a lot of variety from tacos to burritos to salads. I quickly ruled out burritos simply because I don't like rice and beans- but both my friends ordered burritos & said they'd come back again! I decided on a "stuff your own quesadilla"... I asked for Shrimp & Mushrooms- I also had noticed that another menu item had bacon in it, so I asked if I could add that! The ratio of shrimp:mushrooms:bacon:cheese was perfect! The pico de gallo was delicious but could have been served as a bigger portion for the size of quesadilla. I ordered a side of guacamole and that came in a heaping dish but could have used some added spice (garlic, onion). This place used to be much better. Sadly, the food quality has deteriorated substantially lately. I got a cajun fish burrito, a fish taco and jalapeños today for lunch. The yellow rice that came with the jalapeños reeks of the smell of raw turmeric with zero seasoning. There was very little fish in the burrito and it was tasteless as well. The tacos were slightly better and the only one that had some taste to it. If you are in Acton and want a good, quick Mexican food, try Oscar's Burritos. Their food is way better. read more

Just ordered takeout here for the first time (had been wanting to try it for a while) and I will definitely be returning! This vegan was so pleased with the fresh and flavorful ingredients; I had the black bean & spinach taco and two pinto bean tacos, delish! Oh and a side of chips & guac because you just have to do that sometimes. Very easy ordering and quick service. I can't wait to go back and try one of their specialty burritos! Stopped by on Monday to give this place a try. Wow! Portions were awesome, and service was friendly. What really stood out to me was how CLEAN this restaurant is. Everything was orderly and organized. LOVE having the vegetarian and vegan options as well - hard to come by in this area! Crazy. This place is EXACTLY the same as the one in Northampton, which people (myself included) love! It's right on par with most Chipotle, Moe's, Boloco and Qdobas, as well as the majority of sit down joints. I actually prefer it to some since they have other options, like Thai burritos (although that sauce was a bit runny) awesome grilled onion and steak quesadillas, fajita burritos, and more. We've been here probably a dozen times and never had a bad meal, the place is usually packed. If you are going to Yelp about a place, try and give an objective opinion and not spew pure garbage out your mouth. Every single time my wife and I have eaten here I have had warm and delicious food. The steak burritos are extremely good and very filling, the quesadillas as well. The tomatillo salsa is extremely well done and complements the food perfectly. I don't expect a 5 star restaurant, what I do expect is good food that is a better alternative to any of the fast food joints in the area and this serves it purpose perfectly. You good very generous portions and I don;t know what everyone else is on but my food has always been hot. 1 star is extremely poor and unfair to this locale, the people are nice, the food is given to you very fast and I can attest that the menu is great. First of all if there was a -negative star I will give it to them. OMG.....The food is awful...Tacos? what tacos?..cold flour tortilla with some lettuce and a crapy processed cheese not even melted and taste like plastic. I also ordered sautéed jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese, I think that mushrooms were supposed to be in them but they didn't exist. One of the few places that I wish I could leave a negative star review. We were first in line and waited 10-15 minutes to order as the guy running the place was working on a catering order. He was dismissive and made zero eye contact. (I only ever end up here when one of my kids insists on a burrito and we are in Acton, but the service is always...ALWAYS...subpar.). Ordered my son a black bean and cheese burrito and got a giant "pod" filled with iceberg lettuce, rice and tomatoes with a few beans. My spicy burrito was blah. Chips are from a bag and stale, hot sauce is not fresh, shrimp tastes frost bitten and chicken is over cooked. Not "not warm" or "room temperature" but cold. I was wondering what the weird skinny rice things were inside...that's unmelted cheese. I have never experienced that. I mean, shredded cheese melts pretty easily. Not on ice cold tomatoes, it don't. Even as I picked up the burrito, an entire side was chilly. Not appealing. Ingredients themselves were fine, and the tortilla was very good. Is their thing to make the burrito football-shaped? Don't like that either. I just had the most wonderful experience here at Bueno y Sano. Honestly, it is all because of Mike. He was manning the cash register like an absolute legend he rang me up so efficiently with the biggest smile on his face. His affable attitude was put directly into the burrito bowl, like a fat scoop of black beans. Mike checked in on us to make sure everything was satisfactory which truly enhanced our experience. I come here often, maybe once a week. The picture of the tacos is exactly what I order when I go there... I always get the same thing, soft corn shell tacos with either chicken or steak. This isn't the best Mexican place I've ever been to, but I keep coming back for the cleanliness and the consistency. They supply Cholula sauce, which is essential. The tacos can be sort of ordinary otherwise. It would be better if they had a chip bar, they already have a salsa vat. The seating is a little tight with tables that are anchored to the floor. They don't really have a lot of space, so they have to arrange seating this way. You might want to count on taking it to go, and going down the street to the park. Parking is tight. read more

The restaurant (esp bathroom) was frigid, and my chicken was cold. Cheese unmelted. I paid 1.75 for spinach and garlic but barely found any, and that was a bummer because it's my favorite part My order, despite being fussy, came out correct (other than cold and not spinach full) solid 3 stars. We really need a good Mexican-style restaurant around here. Sadly, Bueno Y Sano makes me wish that it was a Chipotle Restaurant. And that, my friends, barely qualifies as Mexican-style because they use words like burrito and taco on the menu. Bueno Y Sano could be excellent fast food. You walk up to a counter and they cook the meal to order. Let me compare to Chipotle. When you go to Chipotle, they have little metal buckets filled with things like cooked meat, beans and "fajitas" -- which is their word for sauteed veggies. You order and they scoop from the buckets. At Bueno, they cook the order on the spot in sautee pans behind the counter. Everything should taste better. Unfortunately, the food is "meh". I am not sure why? Is the food frozen? Did they run out of spices? Or, perhaps, they think that New Englanders like Yankee Pot Roast all mushy and bland -- so, they must want bland Mexican. I don't know. Bueno has the potential to be very good. My daughter, who went to U Mass Amherst, tells me that the food there was great. So, perhaps Bueno Acton can be fixed? I hope so. When I visited Bueno Y Sano this week, the manager (as far as I can assume given that he was training someone at the cash register) was not wearing a mask, even as all of his employees were fully masked and clearly dedicated to safety. He was standing in the very near vicinity of my food as it was made, leaving me reluctant to even eat the burritos I paid for. If he refuses to cover his face when customers are in his restaurant, I wonder what health and safety standards he upholds when the customers aren't in sight. If I could give this place no stars, I would do it. My boyfriend and I live in Acton and we were really excited for this place to open as it's something not pizza or sandwiches. You go in thinking this is a Fresh/Mex type of place where you can get some street tacos, fresh homemade tortillas, a nice fresh salsa spread and such, to accompany some fresh chips....NO. Everything I just said that we expected was the COMPLETE opposite. I'm all for trying new things. We should have just turned right back around to leave with the weird smells wafting thoroughout the place and a bizarre menu It's just awkward when you go in somewhere and you try to hide your disappointment while reading the menu and all the while attempting your escape. I had the Thai Chicken wrap, crunchy cold undercooked rice, very dry chicken and lots of purple cabbage. No taste to it, very very bland...just put the blanket of sauce on there to eat it. My boyfriend had some taco...that was a burrito?! UM..OK. He said he wasn't even going to eat anymore past the couple of bites he had. I've loved bueno since going to umass 20 years ago . To be honest recently I've been happier with this location over the amherst one. Food is very good, large serving size , easy to modify your order and they seem to really pay attention to my online orders. They've always been correct despite several modifications on each meal which is super important to me. . We are fans of the burritos and quesadillas as well as the guac! Lots of ways to customize your order and the rice and beans are good too. I like that the basic burrito etc isnt spicy but has flavor ( my preference as well as the kids) but you can always add spicy salsa or sauce if that's your preference. Recommend! read more
