Hi Men I went to Buff Wax for the first time to get everything waxed and hair removed from top of shoulders to toes except my chest. As a man this at first is a bit intimidating but My Technician Geri was super professional great at doing her job, did an super excellent job and in less time than booked. She made me feel at ease and of course they use a new wood applicator for each wax application so hygiene is important to them when applying wax The place is very neat clean and all staff very pleasant. If your a man and never have done this I can say it's awesome after but more important is that Geri is a big reason that I felt comfortable during and after the appointment. had an appointment for a Brazilian at the Sherwood Park location. Another appointment beforehand ran long, called to say I'd be a bit late. charged a 50% cancellation fee because they couldn't accommodate it. that's absurd, but whatever. However, the lack of skill I routinely received is not forgivable and I regret giving this place so many chances. I had a different girl almost every time. One fingered my butthole by mistake, another poured hot wax on my clit. First time I went the technician was great and I had good results. Every time after was a painful experience, lots of ingrowns and even bruising. My boyfriend complained that my hooha looked beat up all the time. I still kept giving them chances, but charging $32 for a no show fee is ridiculous - I should have charged them for what they did to my nether regions! High end restaurants and salons charge less for cancellations. So upset I ever gave these scammers a dime. read more

Hi, I've been getting waxed for years. I found this place, as I'm new to Edmonton, and liked that you could choose your girl and it looked nice and clean. (The site mentions the girl you choose is not guaranteed). I went in, the girl I chose was sitting at front desk doing nothing with 2 other girls....but a different lady took me in to wax me. She did not wash her hands, she did not hold the skin down with pressure after each pull and she left a lot of hair on the front. She used no oil or other product to soothe afterwards. When I asked her about it, she sold me a $60 skin sloughing instrument with a liquid soap for the area. I've never used it. I called the manager and left a message, and nobody ever returned my call. Awful, COMPLETELY HYPOCRITICAL, Customer service policy. After they last minute cancelled my appointment at 10am in Ellerslie, they offered me 1030am at Skyview, and I accommodating their change without any complaint. Driving from the southside to north side resulted in me being late for my appointment due to traffic and wrong directions (from their reception) and then THEY REFUSED my service, was even though I was the one accommodating them in the first place. Completely unapologetic tech and reception staff. I understand sticking to cancellation policy when the change is customer initiated, but when the you the business that asked for the cancelled the initial appointment, then the least you can do is fit that customer in. You've lost a loyal customer (5+ years) and I will encourage anyone I know to not use your services. read more

3+ year client - highly recommend doing some research as this place has drastically changed while cutting corners for increased profits 1. Inexperienced Staff: high staff turnover, currently have less experienced staff on the floor resulting in poor waxing results. Indeed employee reviews are eye opening to hear what happens behind the scenes 2. Poor Quality of Work: received the worst wax that turned into red raised itchy bumps and ingrown hairs from every wax strip of a full leg and buff brazilian (due to improper technique) 3. Literally the best place for any kind of waxing! I've had mediocre Brazilians and full leg waxes in the past, and I'm so glad I found this place!! First off, I'll be honest, I judge businesses by their websites and Buff has a beautiful, easy to use website! Aside from that, comparing to other business that offer waxing or "sugaring", Buff has great prices! I mean, $55 for a brazilian with professional and friendly staff, clean environment, and fast service, with a no double dipping policy? YES PLEASE! I started going to their South side location last fall, and then they opened up a new location North side, which is closer to me, and I've been going there ever since! All the ladies who work there are super nice and are great at conversations! Also, I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get into the room for my appointments. Honestly, I don't have any bad things to say about this place. Edmonton is lucky to have this business up. read more

Buff recently changed their system and I'm incredibly disappointed with how I was treated when they tried to get my credit card on file because my appointment cost more than $140. They called me several times while I was at work and when they couldn't get a hold of me they proceeded to send me an email saying that my appointment would be cancelled if I didn't put a card on file. The appropriate thing to do, in my humble opinion, would be to ask me to put my card on file when I showed up for my regular appointment, instead of annoying me for it. Thank you Buff team for making me feel like an undervalued customer that doesn't pay her bill. I've been going to Buff for years and have recommended them to everyone I know because I've always had wonderful service and the technicians were great. I've held a regular appointment with them every 6-8 weeks for the last 2-3 years and have never had a problem showing up or paying for my appointments. I've been here 3 times, twice for a full leg wax and once for a bikini wax. Amazing experience every time. The technicians are very professional, efficient and hey make you feel completely at ease during the whole process. The salon itself is lovely and very clean. The first visit (and first ever leg wax) I had Ashley. She was amazing. She was very knowledgeable, and told me everything I needed to know before starting, and during the process we had some great conversations so I barely noticed the pain. HIGHLY recommend!! Both other times I had Nancee. She is also fantastic. Not as talkative, but she is super quick and efficient so you are in and out of there in no time. I really think that there is no better feeling than having nice smooth skin, and having it done professionally is even better. I have never been waxed by someone else before (I've done it myself and it's nothing short of torturous) but I saw an ad for Buff Wax Spot on Facebook and was really impressed by the website and the information it provided (and also that you can book online!!!!). I also really liked the availability of appointments - lots of weeknight availability and weekends as well. I was nervous upon booking but when I arrived for my appointment, I was put at ease by how beautiful and professional the space was. Sina was really friendly and professional, and talking with her was super easy and a good distraction throughout my wax. She was very fast and efficient with her time, and she made my wax as painless as having your body hair ripped out could be. And even though the whole procedure is, in theory, really awkward - I didn't feel like the experience was any more invasive than a regular medical exam. I also found that it went a lot faster than I had expected and by the time I was dressed again, it barely felt like anything had happened to me. Pricing is competitive with what you would find at a high-end salon or spa, and I found that the wax room was very clean, bright and well-supplied. There is no "double dipping" (ie: dipping a wax applicator back into the wax after applying it) so no cross-contamination. Sina also uses a mixture of hard and soft wax, which makes for the most thorough and complete waxing experience. You really feel like you're getting "the best of the best" experience, which I feel is really imperative when it comes to something so personal. Overall, I think that if you are on the fence about professional hair removal and are only holding out with your razor at home because you're: a) afraid of pain or b) embarrassed about being half naked in front of someone - then Sina at Buff Wax Spot is definitely for you. I will never go back to Buff Wax Spot. The girl at the front desk was very rude and turned me away as soon as I walked in because I had my 7 month old baby in tow. I am a new mom and was really looking forward to my appointment- some well deserved 'me time'. I had booked an appointment for a brow wax online and I had never been to this business before. It did not even cross my mind that bringing my baby would be an issue so I did not look on their website about any child related rules beforehand. It turns out they do have a child-free policy and I suppose it was my fault for not confirming; however, I arranged to have the car for the day (as we only have one and my husband was working), and drove 30 minutes to get there. My daughter was quiet and the wax would have only taken 10 minutes but they would not accommodate me at all. It was 2pm on a Wednesday and I only saw one other customer. I would have expected that they honour my appointment as I was there on time, and for future ones I would have made alternate arrangements for child care. However, this was not even an option. Edmonton is supposed to be a child-friendly city. I will not be rescheduling my appointment at Buff Wax Spot. I will be looking for child-friendly businesses in the future. read more

I'm not gonna post any pics but i'll tell you about my experience here! The previous evening before my appointment, I was easily able to book an appointment online. When I arrived, the gal at the front desk was courteous and answered all of my questions about other services I'm interested in. I even booked appointments for mid-December for brow and eyelash concerns. Sina was perfectly on time with her preparation of the room. She was friendly, professional and even used both hot and cold waxes so it was nowhere nearly as painful as other waxing experiences. When paying, Sina came up to the front desk, gave me a machine to use and the receipt was emailed to me right away! Addictive! I have never been a fan of waxing. Several years earlier I tried a different salon which left me with skin so irritated that the hair grew back before the rash healed. I had heard wonderful things about Buff, so I decided to give waxing another shot prior to going on holidays in the summer. I couldn't believe how minimal the pain was, and that was with a Brazilian and full legs. My skin was barely even blotchy afterwards, and I highly recommend the aftercare products, such as the brush and the lotion. I have never had so few ingrown hairs, and my skin was so smooth. It was amazing being able to wear a bikini and have neither red bumps nor stubble. I haven't touched a razor since, and each time I go the hair which grows back comes in thinner and finer. This review is for their second location, Skyview. I have been going to the Ellerslie location since they opened, and never really had any issues with them. Then I moved north, and figured why not, go to skyview as it is much closer. The first appointment they had me booked in for a different time than they had told me. I had to wait for about 30 minutes before someone could get to me, not a huge deal. On my way to my next appointment, I was rear ended. I called, no answer. I called 20 times, no answer. Then I get an email stating I was a no show and they will charge me 100% of my appointment. THATS SCREWED UP! So I called Ellerslie. They answered right away and were lovely. I finally get ahold of skyview, and the receptionist tells me I have to send a screenshot that I "actually tried to call" furious, I asked to speak to the manager. Nancy, the manager there is someone I have seen since Ellerslie, and was always sweet to me, now she's rude. So so rude. I get "well, policy states" blah blah blah but I guess we will wave the no show fee. I was initially calling to see when I could make my next appointment, the conversation ended with me cancelling my next appointment and Nancy hanging up on me. They do not value their customers, and I don't recommend Buff Waxspot at all anymore. read more

Went for a brow shaping and clean up. My brows now look completely different from one another. One side is thicker and short while the other side is thin and long. My boyfriend has even commented that they look asymmetrical and he is not very observant. Very dissatisfied especially considering the cost. read more

So far I have only had my eyebrows done here but it has already impressed me. I have very sensitive skin and this place has definitely been the best for my skin. At other places I have gone I get white bumps on the area that has been waxed and this place, I have no issues. Also I always turn super red but with the product they use here it is gone soon after. This place is fabulous! The staff are always incredibly friendly and professional. I come here for all waxing needs. They use hard wax so there is never any left behind, it's a lot less painful, and it's much quicker than hot wax. There are many appointments available throughout the day/evening and the girls are always willing to help fit you in where possible. Never had a bad experience here and I have been coming for 6 months now. The location is easy to get to if you live on the South Side and there is always ample parking available. They only do waxing so you don't feel weird walking in and people are getting pedicures etc... they specialize in waxing and they definitely know what they're doing. I used to go to the Ellerslie location but the girl I saw stopped working there so I switched to a spa. I booked an appt at Skyview and showed up 2 minutes late, which I had called and notified them of. The person who did my wax, who did not introduce herself, seemed totally annoyed and so rude even though there was no one else waiting. I hate late people too but it was 2 minutes. I had booked a bikini wax and asked to add on a btc wax. She didn't mention that it would be an additional $25. And instead of charging me $5 extra for a full brazilian, she charged me $50 for the WORST bikini wax of my life. All was left on top, barely taken off the sides to the point where I now need to re-wax myself. The whole appointment took about 10 minutes total. When I used to go to the Ellerslie location, I once had a brazilian booked but I didn't need the middle waxed, so she ended up only charging me for a bikini wax. Which was so nice of her, this was the total opposite of that. I have no issue paying for additional services but if you're going to charge me $50, at least inform me of the charge, let me make that decision, and actually do a proper bikini wax? read more
